Hey so I've been watching your vids, keep up the work, you have a nack for it. Anyhow, I have a 2004 rx8, and the previous owner had a switchblade style keyfob just like in this video. And it starts the car and opens the trunk both manually. But they key fob buttons itself doesnt work. I put a new battery and it lights up perfect when I push the buttons, and tried to program it. Well when I do the on off 3x, open close 3x, my door locks lock and unlock 2 or 3x instead of just once. And i still do the unlock button 2x but it never makes the doors lock or unlock and it becomes a unsuccessful program. What do you think? Have you run into this at all in your programming days? Thx again

My remote hasn't been working for some time now - really annoying with only one lock on these modern cars. Read on a forum that corrosion can build up on the contacts on the board. But I simply couldn't get the cover off to check! In all other videos it looks like they just pry on the thing for a moment and it magically opens. Your hint to turn the screwdriver really helped, it popped right open. Scrubbed away the corrosion and remote's working again like a charm. $0 fix.

Thank yo for this! Had to go store to store to finally find the battery at a watch kiosk in the mall- great walk through though! Works like a charm now.
The European-version remote keys looks 99% the same (but they dont have red button)... By the european version key is the first step the same, but the second step is a little bit different... there are two tiny holes, where the flat screw driver goes.

I for one, am always concerned about what can go wrong when doing something like this! What would you recommend for cleaning gunk out of there? My key opens inconsistently. More often than not, I have to pull it out. I imagine WD40 could damage some of the electrical components in there...

Hi Whitney please what is the chance of 2 CX7 Mazda keys going flat the same time please? Our spare has been hanging on the key rake for the time we have owned our car. The car started locking randomly and now stopped completely so I thought the spare would work ok but no chance. They light up but very faintly, should the light be bright as please. Thank you very much

Video suggestion: Flip switchblade cleanup. Because mine got clogged like hell with dust. (removing the logo, dissassemble the key part - not the electronic part-, put remove all pieces, clean up, wd40, re-assemble with the springs, etc...). I've managed to do it (thanks Mazda, there's little notch in the plastic for the springs. That ease our life).
Is it easy to replace the key 🔑 (metal part only) removing it out of the top plastic part and swapping it with a new cut key easily as I got a key sent in mail and it’s wrong and their sending a new key, but their only sending the metal key not the top plastic housing it flicks out of (Mazda3, 2006)????????

hi there , I have mazda5 2007 tried starting it today it wouldn't turn over. the battery was dead when i opened the doors with the key The alarm went off when I boosted so I am thinking it could be the theft alarm that has been activated. any suggestions on how to deactivate the alarm. Thank you

I got a 2006 Mazda 6 06 - 2.3L I got a check engine light shooting me a P0126 code, insf coolant temp for stable operation... My temp gauge is dead centre, recently I took the radiator cap off then started the engine cold, the light went off all day, then came back on next day, then got up for work and it's been off for the past few days. Do u think my problem is fixed :S I herd it cud be the t stat stuck open or closed. Or the ect sensor

Hi, I did this, however the circuit board came off its compartment as well as the buttons and now I am unable to re-assemble it properly. When I try to put the part together the key only lock in place on the top part, and the bit where the battery is remains loose. Help Please

+Brenda Acosta Did you program it to your car? If it's around 2007 model should be 1.) Open car door , 2.) turn car on-off 3 times 3.) close-open door 3 times after this you should see and hear the locks on the car lock and unlock, last step would be to press the unlock button twice in a rapid manner.
