Carlos , what’s the best way to disconnect the battery when you are going to work on the car like if I’m going to replace the starter ? So I don’t mess up the tuning on my truck ,thanks for the video
Your technique works, but emphasize to people that they must keep the positive clamp away from any metal or other ground on the engine or chassis. An accidental short will cause a large spark, or worse.
Could I use the same clips connected to the any 12volt battery? for example, if I used my jump leads that were connected to my wife's car battery , then connect to the cables on my car ! would that work the same please ?
Yeh I am going to go buy a 12 v battery like that and do all that just to save my radio stations? Why no just use jumper cables to the car right next to you? I change batteries every few years and don't notice anything of importance other than setting the clock again. What's the big deal
The newer cars lose most of their throttle adaptation and other engine control settings, and they will not pass smog readiness code testing until they have been driven under a particular set of conditions (speed, distance, acceleration and deceleration) for about 100 miles or more. (Been there ... done that.) This is where some sort of charge keeper, such as the 8 D cells or small 12V battery wired to your 12V outlet will help.
@@johne7345 - thanks for the reply. I have noticed the throttle being a little funky after changing the battery but it’s not been a big deal for me not enough to do this that’s for sure
Best demonstration I've seen yet. Top notch. Now I can even change my battery blindfolded 👍
Excellent video Carlos👍👍

Worse case is a blown fuse

United-We-Stand he could use the car next to him as well so yes. If you got 8 D cell batteries in series it would do the same thing as well.

The ECU has a small battery in it that will hold the data so that you can change the battery without wiping out the data. I think this is unnecessary.
Just buy a memory saver he didn’t show you nothing very bad video
