    Some people said about spraying Starter fluid into the intake manifold or something about by the windshield wiper fluid location as well after doing this video Steps. Where would you spray this in to be exact 🤔

    • @WhitneyAutomotive
      @WhitneyAutomotive Před 5 měsíci

      Some people are stupid. Don't do this. Car is flooded. Has too much gas in combustion chamber. Alcohol doesn't displace the gas, only makes it worse. If you want to, you can remove plugs, clean them off with starter fluid, dry them, crank the vehicle several times with no plugs, then reinstall them... but adding more flammable liquid to a vehicle that has too much flammable liquid on the spark plugs is like putting out a fire with matches.

    Having trouble on my ‘08 40th anniversary (GT trim) that comes standard with the smart key card type. I wanted to program the switchblade key fob. Fiddling around the cycle worked (door open/close/lock/unlock triggered) but I had to do the On/Off ignition 4x instead of 3 with the key card key in ignition. Difference was when it cycled- the cycle locked/unlocked, sounded the warning horn, then unlocked the trunk. I did this cycle pressing the lock twice no luck. Then again with the unlock button on my switchblade fob- no luck. I also try to fiddle holding the button but to no avail. However- I was able to connect still the keycard type fob to the car. If anyone else has a GT trim with a switchblade fob programmed please let me know as I might just take it to the dealer to program the switchblade but only IF it is possible.

    This is simple- oil & filters are cheap (usually less than $30 for materials for most cars). Engines are expensive. If you do your own changes, not that difficult even for the average person, you don't pay for labor and you are sure that it was done and what products were used. The oil & filter change on the average vehicle should only take about an hour, and used oil can usually be disposed of at your local recycling center. For most vehicles only 2 tools are required- a wrench or socket for the drain plug, and an oil filter wrench. Since 1970, I have changed the oil & filter in all of my vehicles every 5,000 miles, which I increased to 7,000 miles after I started using full synthetic, and I have never had an oil related issue with a vehicle (cars, motorcycles and trucks). Even mechanically challenged people can probably find a friend or relative who can be trusted to do an oil change correctly.

    Correct me if I'm wrong. But nothing was mentioned about the gasket that goes on the SSV and thermostat housing. Those HAVE to be replaced. And they cant be gotten locally unless you have a rotary shop in your area. Thought I would get the car together same day. Turned into a week because I had to order gaskets. Why put an old thermostat back into a car that already has a ton of issues? Lol. Just replace it, this job isn't particularly easy. Do it right. Do it once.

    Excellent video. After replacing all mounts on my '08 Mazda 3 2.3 it now has four issues: 1) engine light on 2) idles a little rough 3) fan came on right away after starting even though the car sat for three days and 4) the automatic transmission shifts good, but shifts hard if that makes sense. I did not change out the coolant sensor, but I will tomorrow. Anything else you can think of that might be causing these issues? All electrical cables and plugs are plugged back in.

    • @WhitneyAutomotive
      @WhitneyAutomotive Před 8 měsíci

      Take a hard look at that MAF sensor... reference voltage goes through it so it can definitely cause all these problems. Make sure the harness isn't pinched anywhere and wiggle the pins in the back to see if it changes. Can you pull codes on it? That should definitely help narrow it down. If it has MAF or IAT codes, you'd definitely be looking that way.

    • @VideoMyLifeLLC

      @@WhitneyAutomotive Thank you very much! I saw another video last night where the guy said, after disconnecting the battery for extended periods, the car needs to "relearn" how the car runs. Let it idle 20 minutes, turn on the A/C 15 minutes, then drive. I did, and it is better, but still stalls sometimes at a stop sign. I did that before I saw your response so now I will follow your advice. I will inspect and wiggle (the wires LOL), and then drive it up the street to O'Reilly's to pull codes. Thanks again for the GREAT video!

    Hey what’s going man , I’m here from your other video about how to deflood the rx8 I have an 04 manual , I got it on but It still continues to flood. I got a diagnostic done and got (Power Train system) along with code for P0301: Cylinder 1 misfire . Everytime I drive it will make flood noise not allowing me to give it gas . And when I come to a stop it’ll turn off . I don’t know if it can be my coils , plug wires , or my fuel injectors . Is there anything you did that you would suggest . Appreciate it

    Instead of using a hammer to knock the knuckle off and an air-hammer to put it back on with, there's an easier way. When you've taken the knuckle bolt out, wedge a large plate washer between the unthreaded hole of the knuckle and the strut. Then thread the bolt through from the other side (threaded side) until it meets the flat surface of the plate washer that's blocking the unthreaded hole and tighten until the knuckle expands slightly, then slide the knuckle off easily by hand. (You don't need to remove the axle nuts or drive shafts from the hub BTW.) If your new strut has a "slotted" bolt locater, leave the bolt and washer in the knuckle while you fit the strut, then just slide it back on into place when the new strut's in. When the knuckle's back in place, remove the bolt and washer and put the bolt back in its proper place and tighten and you're good to go. No hammering needed. This works especially well when the knuckle is very rusty and can take ages to knock off with a hammer. The top mount of the wing can suffer especially on an old or rusty car if the knuckle is hit too hard. I would also remove the track rod end from the knuckle before starting the job because you can get a trauma leak from the steering rack if it's old. Also, always draw a circle around the three old top bolts before loosening them, and make sure the new bolts are in exactly the same place when you've finished, otherwise the camber (tilt) of the new strut will be off.
