I hail from Jhelum. Sikhs had a great influece in jhelum. A few years ago, I connected with a Sikh friend online. He shared that his grandfather had served as the Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum. I was able to send him pictures of the name board with his grandfather's name inscribed on it.

I belong to Jhelum, all my education from primary to gradation from here.
This power house produces DC electricity and in Jhelum we used DC current upto 1970 , when i was in Fsc. On completion of Mangla dam , AC electricity was also here, even both DC & AC current in two separate supply lines.
Famous & very memorable places of jhelum, River bridge, Railway workshop where all railway bridges were made. I have also seen dingi pully of Civil lines , which was a smaa stream from river upto Nia mohallah talab .
All nastalgic memories but unfortunately all these historical places are ruined.😢

Jhelum and Rawalpindi (British India times) are the BEST districts of the Punjab. Both East and WEST 👌🏻

Though not my native area but I spent most of my childhood, teen age ( school and college) in jhelum district and city..your vlog brought back a lot of memories. Thanks a lot. Wish you told something about church by the river bank. Our college ground had a common wall with church and we often jumped over to recover our tennis balls or foot balls . High school had a wall common with military unit who and us were always at loggerheads because of us jumping their walls for the same reason....Those were the days!!!.
