In this day and age when social media is either blasting lies, baseless stories and one sided narrations or spinning the wheels of capitalism finding a human voice with real life anecdotes full of highs and lows is priceless ! An absolute listening pleasure :)
Salman Rashid sahab, we love you.
Very interesting incidents.
Now we wait for the dastaan-e-demotion!!
Okay. That too will come.
Fascinating
You are a gem sir. May Allah keep you healthy and safe.
Sir kiya baat hai apki
❤❤❤
👌😁
Taya g apka naam panga ekdam sahi rakha hua tha !! Btw very exciting tales as usual .... gem of a charactes major sharif ❤
😂😂 fantastic rocket sir
Interesting stories Sir, pls keep narrating as it reminds me those 4 years I spent in murlee 😅
This is actually one of the most interesting stories for me at least since it’s about you and your days in the army
Good to know that, Annas.
Lovely:)
My father enlisted during the 1965 war. He and his friends had just graduated from DOW in Karachi at that time. My father was sent to the frontlines, near Khaimkeran. The stories he would tell :)
His friend was posted in Lahore. He would tell my father that he was protecting my mom, as she was in Lahore at that time and my father and her had just gotten engaged :)
These stories are important. They may not seem like much but they make up who we are.
Thank you very much, Saba. the stories are indeed important and need to be told. In October 1965 I and a few other friends went with an army captain to Khem Karan. I was 13 and this was my first "foreign trip", if I may call it that.
@@odysseuslahori
The commanding officer at that time was Ali Kuli Khan. My father ran into him many years later, when Mr Khan was a general.
My father spoke how, after the war, the army bade farewell to him and the other doctors who had volunteered at that time. Spoke of rose petals at the train station :) so lovely.
Dilchasp aur majedaar bhi ! Aap ki kahaniyaN !
Fabulous. So nice to see you Sir I recognised yourself from some documentary programmes you used to do on PTV late night. It was about some 20 25 years ago
buht aala...you are a brilliant storyteller...
Thank you, Sabir dear friend.
Very interesting especially meeting with Cecil Choudry
😊😊
Thank you very much.
Ah, AMAZING,❤️❤️❤️
By far the most interesting episode.
Very interesting.I remember Raheel Sharif in the 60s when he was a teenager.Came to our house in Garden Town on a scooter to drop one of his reletives. He showed me his scooter with quite interest
I’m also an Anthonian 2010 Batch Sir. Cecil Ch was principle at our time.
This was a fun watch! Enjoyed your stories from your time in the army. Really wanted to know about them.
Oh dear….
More stories please. Ended so soon
Adab arz hai!
Entertaining beyond words😂😂😂😂😂
Now waiting for the demotion story😉🙃
Okay. We'll do one on the demotion.
Kamaal karde o tussi!
The narration of these anecdotes is brilliant! The humour, the sudden shift to Punjabi, everything just chimes in so well, reminds me of my sweet mother tongue & my motherland which lives in me. Your style of narration also reminds of my nana Rehmat Ali Chaudhary who passed away just before I moved to the UK to pursue astronomy. He was a government employee in Samanabad college & used to cycle daily from Eminabad to Lahore. I dearly miss spending time with him & listening to his stories, but that's just the beauty of life.
Mahid from Daroghawala, Baghbanpura, Lahore.
Too good 😍
Thank you very much.

Ma'am, Aap ki pehli mulaqat Salman Sahab k Saath, was it during his Army days or afterwards
Appreciate these. Your stories remind me of my late nana and his stories from serving in the British Indian army during WW2. Very funny and entertaining. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Glad to know that my stories ring a bell.
"Mass burial" had me in literal splits. For the record, I watched this first yesterday and since then I've burst out laughing multiple times just recollecting this bit of narration. Had to come back to listen to it again haha
Thank you, sir. You are very kind.
wonderful sir, it is so pleasant and a bit envious to know your 'khilaaeye gaey gull'. if possible, plz continue. with kind regards
Thank you. Hope to bring more .
Sayain khodaie camp to nheen tha😮
This was so amazing!! Thanks for such such gems... looking forward to more including why you were demoted!!
Why was I demoted? That will include telling what I used to say about my commanders artillery. Publicly in the mess.
@@salmanrashid8880 hahahaha, seems you were as brutality honest then also !!
sir more stories army k din
Excellent account of your army days. Please do a program on your PMA days also, I am sure it will be hilarious
Okay. Will do that.
Sir btaen demote kyun hue thay aap ? 😂
Salman Sb, enjoy your travel/historical anecdotes and look forward to new episodes every week. Thank you. On a side note was this Major Shareef Ahmed Khan?
The plate he wore on his chest just said Sharif. And sometimes I get a little confused myself. Was it really sharif? You see, all that happened in March or April 1978. that's a very long time ago.
@@salmanrashid8880 I am amazed you remember his name. :)
Couldn't have been the gentleman I was thinking of although he fit the bill perfectly since he passed away much later
Brilliant Sir. I think you still wistfully look at your days in the force. Armed force's loss is our gain nevertheless.
No. I was never wistful even for a day after I quit.
Lol. "Log bhool gayay kay inko wapis bhee bhaijna hai'.
My brother in law was also 49th PMA. He became POW in bengal. Don't remember if he was in 9 punjab or 34 punjab, can't confirm as he has parkinsons now.
No sir. 49 PMA could not have been in East Pakistan. The last course to be sent to Bengal was 47 PMA. My course-mate Lt Col Javed Mujtaba is 9 Punjab.
You must be right. Next time i go to karachi i'll confirm with a batchmate of his. The funniest army officer i've ever met.
aur huzoor, agar bookshelf ki tasveer bhi bhej dete to bahut inayat hoti.
Which bookshelf, sir?
@@odysseuslahori, Huzoor Aadab, I see books behind you often and struggle to make out the titles hence the request. I see the "Birds of Pakistan". I would love to see a view of the more of such treasures behind you.
Was it Major Sharif malal?I don't remember the regiment but he was average height, fair& thin He too was recalled for 71' war spent some time in East Pakistan with a FF unit under Brig mian Taskinudin and spent his later years in Rawalpindi There can't be two Major sharifs with such matching similarities.
I distinctly remember my Maj Sharif was Punjab Regt. Not FF. So cannot be the same.
Sir i got a new name with all respect n love for you!
Masoom Panga 😉 cuz you definitely carry that same repu on twitter too!
Absolutely love your work - keep it up! 💯
