Let me tell you something, 2, 4 years back I went to Kund malir, from Karachi, there is an army check post just near Kund Malir, where they check your ID cards, note your times, car registration numbers etc. The NCO there told me with a great honor in his voice that there was a man came here a few weeks back, who had his wife with him, and she was American citizen so I didn't allow him to go beyond this check point. He had to go back to Karachi. I mean just imagine, that a woman traveled at least a couple of hundred kilometers on insistence of her husband and we sent her back because she is not Pakistani!

Sir, a few years ago I went to Karachi's museum, and they told me not to take photographs using our cell phones. I guess we want to hide the things we have in our museums! We were not even using flash in the cell phone camera, but it was still prohibited!

Absolutely sir, my wife and I went to see the Shah Rukn e Aalam mausoleum in Multan. DSLR photography wasn't even allowed there.
All idiots! Everywhere you turn you see a retard.
That reason, I stop using Go pro and now use mobile to make videso. This problem is also in Dubai and riyadh, People start caution when you use Camera and with mobile they are comfortable. Even in dubai, Hotel Place in main dubai same. DSLR is not allow. But you can use to make video and picture with mobile.
Idiocy must then be a Muslim trait because as Spikes above says, India has no such rules.

DSLR Camera Shows Coordinates ( x, Y ,Z) that's why DSLR is Prohibited,
But I have a GPS with me all the time. This is a very silly restriction about SLR cameras. I can even use and old film camera without the built in GPS and they'll still go stupid.

Salman Uncle, places here in India with photography restrictions (very few, if there) would also prevent you to take pictures/videos from cell phone.
