- What is Construction Management? A lot of work goes into constructing a building, but how is it all managed and facilitated?
This video is intended to demystify the profession of construction management, but should entertain anyone interested in engineering or building. It highlights the multi-faceted approach that is undertaken whenever a building is constructed and explores some of the roles, such as project manager, estimator, quantity surveyor, contract manager, design manager and construction scheduler, in greater detail.

Wow, great breakdown! I should have known something explained so well came from Australia ... so many times if I want something explained very simply, I hope for an Aussie explanation! When I choose a bachelor degree which is better for that is it, bachelor of construction management or construction project management?

Great explanation of the management of construction projects. But it doesn't give credit to the thousands of tradies who actually do the work, and are probably earning more than a graduate from the uni!
True today but what about when you are 50 and your body has packed-a-sad? Maybe working through the trades and then pursuing management is a good route? Don't get me wrong, I'm a hands-on person but we do need to work to a plan. Someone who prefers paper-pushing and meetings will prefer this route and good on them.

so 50 workers x ?years x 0.8=120 storeys
?years to build 120 storey with 50 workers= 3 years (all variables held constant)
