The moment when he went to sacrifice himself for the fake grenade. Even skinny Steve was worthy.
Thank You! People seem to forget there was a reason why Steve (the most unfit soldier ever to be enlisted) was chosen to receive the serum. He's been proving how "worthy" he is since his first movie.
A selfless act, sure, but Steve wasn't the only person in the world who would have jumped on that grenade. Statistically, someone else would have done the same thing. I think the power of Thor should require a little bit more that that I mean it's the big leagues.
@@fullnelson9999 I dont think she's saying that moment is what made him worthy. It was just another example of why he's worthy. Thor became worthy when he stopped caring about being king and was willing to sacrifice himself for a small town of earthlings that really meant nothing to him and didn't even know who he was. Steve does something similar when he thought he was giving his life for a bunch of soldiers who thought he was worthless. There was probably never a point where Steve wasn't worthy.
Damn right. He was always worthy.
@@fullnelson9999 His words that he spoke to Bucky that Dr overheard..... his willingness to sacrifice himself so much that he lied 5 different times to try and get in the military because he believed in service and believing in something bigger than himself.... which is EXACTLY what proves himself worthy
Thor: No one can lift my HAMMER
CAP: Hold my beer
Thor: Drinks the beer
seen this comment everywhere. getting old
Dr Strange: * refills *
Dr. Strange: *Refills Mug of Cap's Beer*
Thor: Perfect! *About to drop the mug on the ground*
Cap with Mjolnir: Thanos is Dead, Thor. Don't waste good beer, son. Hand it here.
Thor: Yes, Sir Rogers. *Wants no smoke.*
Cap: *Downs the beer like a true american patriot.*
Also Cap: That's America's Beer, Now.
Srolen comment I saw 9ne before.
I lost brain cells understanding all these
I'll save you 8 minutes. He always was worthy. He simply didn't want to hurt Thor's pride in Ultron by lifting it.
Idk lol Exactly
@@jiggs8560 What are you smoking
You are worthy
His decision to not lift the hammer, knowing that he could makes him even more worthy.
Not to mention everyone else's. If he had lifted the hammer everyone there would have felt like shit...
Cap Does't lift the hammer in Age of Ultron Because. He don't want to lift it at that time. For the respect of Thor.
Confirmed by Russo Brothers.
You would think people would have enough sense to figure that out by themselves lol
I think that is a lame retcon. I think he became worthy when he wrote the letter to Tony Stark, coming to terms and apologizing for the terrible secret he kept for selfish reasons as well as prioritizing Bucky over everything, including his teammates.
Movies Cliper Wrong!
(In trump voice)
Sir Kayda It’s not a retcon. No characters in the Avengers films are “sort of worthy”. They either are or aren’t. You can become worthy as we see in the first film, like Thor did, earning the power he wields. To say that Mjølnir has a scale of worthiness is ridiculous. Is it heavier or lighter depending on worthiness? Does Thor have times where it’s heavier because he becomes less worthy? Not as far as we can tell.
It’s much simpler to just say “Cap could have lifted it, especially because after it budges at 1:52, Cap has such a fake attempt at lifting it. Either it was horrible acting on Chris’s part, or intentional from the start. Cap is worthy because when it comes to institutions, codes, or battles versus lives, Cap will always choose life.
Russo brothers didn’t direct or write the film, Whedon did.

He was worthy in Age of Ultron, when we saw Mjölnir move a bit. Cap realized he could lift it, but decided not to, respect for Thor.
That's why the hammer moved slightly, because the hammer doesn't go on "almost worthy" it only moves on "absolutely worthy"
You don't think the hammer had to think a little. "Yeah, he's, oh, almost ready. Come back later"
It's either you are worthy or not, there is no in between. If you can slightly move it than you are worthy. The Hulk couldn't even nudge it when he was fighting Thor and he was "The strongest Avenger".
That's bs...he tries to lift it in Age of Ultron and it moves slightly. Then he regrips it and tries to tug at it again...how do you explain that??

Mjolnir in Endgame: That time is now.
He could lift it in AoU but didn’t want to. He knew it all the time. Thor saw and knew it too. Also, why should cap even go for the mjölnir in Endgame if he didn’t know? He knew it all the time and his gaze at Thor’s shocked face told it.

My bet would be that for once he absolutely positively wanted to kill the shit out of Thanos that was the missing ingredient.
The video : yeah we don't really know
Maddening. Five seconds of research would show WatchMojo that the Russos answered this question directly, and the answer (which is obvious) is that Cap was always worthy - and he just didn't want to embarrass Thor.
The grenade scene from the first film touched my heart. He's really worthy...

For real man, I went nuts
he was worthy all along . he chose not to lift it earlier
That's the comment I was looking for. He was always worthy since before the Super-soldier serum.
His body language in the AoU scene shows that he really wasn't interested in lifting it. He budged it though...probably to make it interesting and make Thor sweat a bit.
Call Me Ish-maybe I think he budged the hammer to see if he can really lift it and chose not to.

Nicholas Barnhouse
You haven’t read the comics... Showing off is not worthy, Cap has always been worthy of the power, but it takes more than heart. If you are not Thor, the intended use of Mjolnir too, is at issue. Just lifting it to show off is not worthy, so no lift in Age of Ultron, but it did recognize him as worthy by budging... If the power was needed like once Ultron arrived AND THOR WAS NOT AROUND OR UNABLE TO FIGHT , THEN STEVE COULD HAVE LIFTED MJOLNIR THEN TOO...
Thor: Cap I think it might be time for you to get worthy.
Cap: Thats My secret Thor...

The most impactful Captain America moment in End Game was not when he wielded Thor’s hammer, but rather when he limped down the hill with a broken shield, alone, to face Thanos’ army. I agree complete! I WAS SO FREAKING' MAD!!! He is not the god of lightning, THOR IS THE GOD OF THUNDER!!!! NOT CAP!!!!
The power shown was from Mjolnir, not CPT America.
Captain America was always worthy. Thor's reaction when he did lift it "I knew it". Captain America was sandbagging in age of Ultron for Thor's and team morale. Captain America also never seems to use more abilities that needed but just enough. Beating up a bunch of guys in an elevator-had he gone full strength on them it would have been a blood bath, we are talking about a guy who pulled a helicopter out of the air. He cold have killed each of them with one punch.
Steve was always worthy to lift Mjolnir, even in Age of Ultron, Steve was just too humble to embarrass his friends (particularly Thor) by showing it off. Steve wasn't actually *trying* to lift Mjolnir in AoU, but in Endgame he needed every advantage he could possibly get so he proved that he was, in fact, worthy. Steve isn't one to boast or show off, he only does something if it needs to be done, and in AoU there was no need for him to lift Mjolnir. At least, that's my belief.
He was always worthy. He didnt pick it up to show up Thor.
It's about respect for Thor,'s pride.

@@kyero8724 yes because thor is one
He was never perfect to begin with. I'm sure he's made many of mistakes, that's what makes him human. The difference is that he never stopped fighting for what was right despite all that
He couldn't lift the mjolnir in age of Ultron cause he knew that Bucky killed tony's parents but he was selfish and didn't reveal the secret
@@shaunmenace9925 That literally makes no sense. Since when does Thor's hammer judge an individual based on conflicting views of Morality? One could argue that Steve genuinely didn't believe it was Bucky, had ZERO evidence that it was Bucky, and only knew for a FACT that HYDRA had something to do with Stark's parents death and chose to withhold that information until he had more to work with. In any case, to say that he was wrong for withholding the information he did have is to apply your own morals to the situation. The hammer has no agency, it is an inadimate object, it has no sense of morality therefore would not judge that when deciding who is worthy and who isn't. Cap was always worthy, the director of Age Of Ultron eluded to it, as did Kevin Feige himself. Thor says that he knew Cap was worthy, and I'm pretty sure that if Cap himself knew that he wasn't worthy he would not have tried to pick up the hammer. Especially since Thor was seconds from being killed by Thanos.
Cap was always worthy... He's probably even more worthy than Thor.
Probably....he was, he was banished while cap was asleep cause he saved millions
Cap was always worthy. Even in the first like 20 minutes of The first Avenger, Steve wanted to enlist in the army because he wanted to be a significant help to his country in WWII not because he wanted money or fame or anything but he wanted to put his life on the line to contribute to being the change. He even wasn't happy being a showman to sell war bonds even though that got him his own movies, comic books, recognition and probably a lot of money that would make anyone happy but not him. If that wasn't enough to be worthy, he used his body to cover the dummy grenade to protect everyone, he crashed a plane full of nukes into the ocean freezing himself, in The Winter Soldier after finishing stopping Hydra, he refused to fight his best friend and would let him kill him if it means being with him again. There's so much he's done in the MCU to make him worthy and that's something I love about it, the long term storytelling and character development was amazing.
Thor in infinity war: I see you copied my beard
Captain America: literally next movie shaves beard
literally shaves beard and take his damn hammer
Thor : noticed you've copied my worthiness
There are still people that haven't watched it yet, you know? 😐
It literally says spoilers in the title
N Jiang the title is a spoiler itself.
How are so many people still saying they haven't seen it yet? It's on PlayStation if you have one and it's been out a week now guys come on
@@Serge_Jackson What?!?!?!? I littarly just saw a pre order thing on psn so you cant watch it yet so what the hell are you going on about
Well damn SORRY I SAID ANYTHING JESUS youtube is turning into twitter slowly every day
He was always worthy, even before the serum.
Dude,no matter how many times I replay that grenade clip.... I get goosebumps
There are a few theories out there... the one i dislike the most is the one where people say he was always worthy but faked it in AOU when they tried to lift the hammer. The theory i love the most is when the whole situation with Tony and Bucky came to light, cap kept that from tony and that enough make Cap unworthy. So when the end of civil war happened cap no longer had any regrets and became worthy.
He’s always been worthy. In Age of Ultron he didn’t wanna show everyone up but he and Thor knew he nudged it a little
If you want to trace it back to an MCU specific event maybe the moment he covers the grenade.
Well, if you saw that scene on lifting Mjolnir in Age of Ultron, Thor really noticed the hammer Shaked a little when cap carried it
Let’s be honest, the rat was the real hero.It allowed Ant-man to escape and bring up the idea to Steve about going into the quantum realm and time traveling
Yeah
"Are you on my team"
"Just represent *PULL* "
I loved Thor's face when Cap moved the hammer a little lol
When pre-serum steve jumped on that grenade in ca:tfa, that's when he became worthy.
I think Captain America was always worthy, he had pure heart and was the bravest Avenger of them all. Only reason he didn't lift mjolnir in age of ultron is because he didn't want to make Thor feel bad and he didn't think he had to do it as well.
I agree why Cap is worthy, howeverrrrr Iron Man is the bravest avenger
Make Thor feel bad?? I’d really doubt that but ok
@@rimskyrichard8651 Why doubt it? The conversation before lifting the hammer was whoever can wield the hammer will rule Asgard. Also the look on Thor's face does it for Cap
When he told Tony his secret about Bucky and Tony's parents
In final fight civil war
Cap was *always* worthy. He *chose* not to lift Mjolnir in Age of Ultron. He was being *humble* , which is one of the criteria for worthiness and why Odin placed the enchantment on Mjolnir (and banished Thor) in the first place-too teach humility.
During the contest, Steve moved Mjolnir and *stopped* . Thor noticed this, and that’s why he says, “I knew it” in Endgame. What he *knew* wasn’t just that Cap was worthy...it was that he had been worthy *all along* .
Doesn't matter if you are a great soldier or not, what matters is how good of man you are...
Captain is something else and evans did a tremendous job of portraying him
Dude wtf I am just scrolling CZcams waiting for my weekend to come......thanks mojo🙃
Hate to hear that man that's why I barely used my phone before seeing Endgame.
Captain was always worthy. He was worthy enough to lift Mjolnir in Age Of Ultron. He decided to be modest and to pretend that he couldn't lift it.
Mjolnir isn't some sort of "slightly worthy". Either you can lift it or you can't, you aren't able to slightly move it.
Lmao "slightly worthy."
He became worry when Thor was getting his ass kicked and the entire universe needed saving lol...
He was always “worthy” but the use of the Power of Thor is the real test for worthiness for mortals.
