I think it's safe to say that most people who are new to the world of HP do not anticipate the emotional depths to which these stories carry you. I certainly didn't.

Little fun fact: Cedric's character was always present in the books and even in the Prisoner of Askaban movie!
Cedric was the boy who was struck by lightning during the Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff Quiddich game! He was played by another actor but it was Cedric's character
I've never noticed that, but it's rather interesting, as in the book Cedric won the game for Hufflepuff by catching the Snitch after Harry fell off his broom.

The scene with Cedric's dad always gets me... honestly it should at least tug the heartstrings for everyone if no tears come. The actor did such an amazing job portraying the pain a father would feel at the loss of his child😢so heartbreaking...
In the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore explained to Harry that Priori Incantatem is what happened when their two wands with matching wand core connected. If you recall from the very first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone or Philosopher's Stone when Harry got his wand Mr. Olivander said that the phoenix feather in Harry's wand had a matching feather in another wand that came from the same exact phoenix. The person that has the other feather in his wand is Voldemort.
Harry found out in the book version of Goblet of Fire that the phoenix was Dumbledore's bird, Fawks.
Because Harry and Voldemort has matching wand cores it means the wands are equal in power and relation. The wands really are brothers. As Harry's wand began to slowly beat Voldemort's wand it caused the Piori Incantatem spell to happen. That means the last few spells that a wand made reveals itself. So in this case not only did the last few murders that Voldemort's wand made expose itself to everyone in the graveyard, in the book version it also showed Wormtail's new silvery hand first as well.

fun fact, the man at the beginning is frank,, he was the caretaker or voldemort's house, that's why he went to check, He has a whole storyline on this book, I wish they were able to include those little details. I believe that's why after the second movie its important to read the books to. know more, I had to find out more so i'm reading them haha

I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.
Trivia:
They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.
The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.
As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"

Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.

Also for some more backstory on Barty Crouch & his son that was in the books & not the movies was when Barty Crouch sentenced his son (Jr.) to Azkaban, Barty’s wife was devastated & pleaded with him to not send him there but he did it anyways to uphold the law & his wife ended up getting extremely sick & was going to die within a month & so her last dying wish to Barty was that they visit their son in Azkaban & her & Jr. take polyjuice potion so they turned into each other so Jr. could walk out looking like his mother & the mother would stay in Azkaban where she would die since her time was nearing anyways. Since it was her dying wish & Barty Crouch loved her so much he agreed but as soon as Jr. & the mother swapped places & broke him out, Barty Crouch used the imperious curse to ensure that his son did not go back to the dark side & keep him under control. There’s a whole thing with their house elf Winkie where she pleads with Barty to let Jr. go to the World Cup cuz he was cooped up in the house & isolated for so long & he agreed & he hid under an invisibility cloak & ended up sitting behind Harry & the weasleys. He ended up breaking free of the imperious curse out of sheer will power & stole Harry’s wand that he saw sticking out of his back pocket & used it to conjure the dark mark so there’s a whole thing about Harry being falsely accused of the dark mark & then the house elf having Harry’s wand so they think she did it. It’s fkn WILD but anyways. Thought you’d love the extra details!
One cool thing from the books that I've always loved is when Dumbledore stops Crouch Jr at the end in the books, it says something like "Harry saw for the first time why they say Dumbledore is the only one Voldemort ever feared" and that there was no twinkle in his eyes just rage and disgust. Dumbledore for all his carefree and nice nature really doesn't like evil people.
Love Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, but honestly this is why I think this is why Richard Harris’s portrayal of dumbledore is even better. Harry was in shock because the dumbledore he saw was very calm, soft spoken, like a wise old man, which makes it even more shocking. Michael Gambon goes for a more domineering approach, and his voice seems to be more firm, as well as his portrayal in this movie, it wouldn’t be at all shocking, compared to Richard Harris’s Dumbledore.

What makes Cedric’s death even sadder to me is in the movies Cedric’s mother is nowhere to be seen, possibly already dead. Cedric could have been the only person left in his Dads life and he was taken as well 😭

20:07 No, but I understand your confusion because of the way this movie portrayed the Imperius curse. I will try to explain below in short.
Imperius curse allows the user to control somebody such that the victim will follow all orders, unless resisted. Resistance can be trained and although we do not see Harry training, we do see Harry trying to resist against Voldemort.
The curse does not make things/beings float and levitate. Those are different spells. Levitating charms to be exact. You saw one example in the first movie, that is Wingardium Leviosa. The other charm which is shown here levitating living beings is Levicorpus. Moody actually used Levicorpus (non verbally of course) on Draco transfigured as a ferret.

It showed in that duel as he started to overpower Voldemort when he held his wand with two hands.

@@JakeReactsYT just replying quick cos I’m not seeing info on the twins - As Harry won the tournament he gets ALOT of money, he gives that money to the twins as he tries to give it to Cedric’s parents and they refuse saying it’s Harry’s and he earned it etc, Harry feels gross about it so forces it onto the twins (literally threatens to curse them hahaha it’s so sweet) and you’ll find out what they do with the money so I won’t spoil it BUT it’s never mentioned how they get money so I’ll update ya 🦋

Ron's reaction to Harry entering the tournament seams too much, but Ron is extremely insecure. He comes from an old but very poor pureblood family and has five older brothers - Bill the oldest was a very good student, prefect and Head Boy and works like a curse breaker, Charlie too was a prefect and Quidditch captain and works now with dragons, Percy is socialy awkward but he's a hard working excellent student, the twins are extremely popular and brilliant when they want too, even Ginny, she is the long awaited only girl. Having the Boy-Who-Lived and the "brightest witch of their age" as best friend does not really help his self esteem either.
In Ron's eyes the one thing that makes him special is being Harry's best friend and confidant. So Harry supposedly going behind his back is huge for Ron.
They made the whole Mad Eye thing waaaay too obvious in the movie. In the book it wasn’t that obvious.
