It truly is.
My honor run that I beat the game with almost ended here. I survived with literally 1 HP on my main character and everyone else was downed or dead.
Seeing how you dealt with some of these boss fights gives me new ideas for fighting them on my next honor run!

Honestly, Honour mode changes the entire game for me. I got into this fight at level 3... And I was able to keep the boss in the state of laughter as I killed all the small spiders it kept spawning. And eventually I realized there is no way I can beat him so I used featherfall and one by one I jumped to the middle to the Undercity and then teleported out. It was so intense :")

@@zalzeera Personally I just burned web bridges so she slams against the ground. Felt to me like a God of War fight 😆 I am still on my first playthrough on Explorer Difficulty though lol
@@user-mu8dm4rk7g Yeah if this is your first fight, you are doing quite well. Realising that you can burn the bridges for fall damage is the best aha moment in this fight

Yeah never used that spear in a regular playthrough. Came in clutch here.
It is the end all weapon for this fight since it blinds and has +12 to creatures with multiple sets of eyes lol so spiders

I agree. Very good solo run. I just had a TPK at level 3 - that additional action at level 5 would've been very useful - so I'll try again...

Yeah the legendary bosses are not worth doing at anything less than 5. I made this mistake with owlbear and bernard, got wrecked.
I forgot that spiders have multiple eyes and that this spear works on them.
Yeah it also works on Karniss btw.
7:44 you could have thrown a fire bottle at them here to set them both on fire and make them take a bunch of fall dmg
I know, like I said in the description, I didn't realize that the medium spiders also trigger the legendary. I thought it was just the hatchling. Well, now I know.
I think the key point is that the fire burns the web bridges and the boss falls and takes massive damage each time.
yeah i always try to utilize the fall damage in this fight, unless im very late there and i can just smash the matriach.

I visit Auntie Ethel after every long rest. She is my go-to trader with the highest discount. I will kill her just before entering shadowfell.

@@simonachberger4480 Yeah you can access all of act 1, until you go inside shadowfell. I don't find it too tedious, personal preference I guess.

@@simonachberger4480She sells 3/reset. She also resets every time you level, so if you respec a character it''s a convenient time to grab like 12-15 potions. Combined with Berryth and the quartermaster it should give you plenty to get to act 3 when you start getting CG str (technically QM will sell those once you hit level 9... but basically act 3).
I'm way to impatient for honor mode. i'd have to do it with a friend to keep me in check.
As a father of 2 i just bulldoze my way through explorer mode. No shame

Hey David, thanks for watching. I think paladins are good mid-game. They have some trouble late game, because of radiant retort and punish divinity. You also don't need the later aura (aura of courage) because of heroism. Which is why the padlock build was so good. I'm gonna go with this for some time and probably do some multiclassing later. I think barbadin maybe good, for the bonus action attack.
@@zalzeera You saw the change where padlocks dont get a 3rd attack any more, right? I'm 99% sure you know, but just checking.
@@davidmills1520 Yeah I know. That's why I was thinking of Barbadin, to use the enraged bonus action attack. That build is fairly late, I have just reached grymforge and about to work with Nere.

You know as crazy as it sounds it never occured to me to kill the eggs first I just went in there lit my fists on fire and started throwing hands, and fire snakes, downed her in 2 rounds
I was able to ignore the eggs by using a Rogue Assassin (Astarion) with the Haste Helm (3 Momentum = 15ft), Longstrider (10ft), and Crusher's Ring (10ft). Shoot a spider to trigger combat with a surprise round, shoot again for a crit, use Cunning Action: Dash to run away and exit combat (without leaving the area), rinse and repeat until you can think the party can finish off the Queen in one round. Because the Spider Queen never gets a normal turn in combat, she never disturbs the eggs.
Ignoring eggs is good if you can burst her down in 2-3 turns which is quite easy with full party (and some hard hitting classes) because she basically wasted a turn
Not destroying the eggs as "real" solo is a bit too dangerous imo

Easy way destroy all spider webs . Then she phases to your location .then push of little ones into chasm
burn the web bridge and she will drop into the chasm, if you dont need posioner robe that is.
She can't be killed that way in honor mode, I believe
@@shwqa yea she can't, i tried using thunderwave to knock her in there and she just tp'd right in front of my squad and destroyed that run
Yeah she just phases back to the spot she got knocked off
The other comments mention that she's immune to chasm death on honor mode, but she still takes fall damage and lands prone if she drops onto the ground. You can lock her down if you ensare her or otherwise drain her movement speed while she's prone.
@@iova3922 What do you know about honor mode so far? I've heard you can't "save scum", but as far as I know the only restraint on this is the 1 save thing. As far as I know you can still save regularly, and if anything goes wrong (barring death, can F8 at any time right?
And what about the comments that actions and bonuses are restricted in late game? Do we know how?
i find it funny that people think its some kind of achievement killing any of the act 1 boses at level 5 WITH tadpole powers.
