Actually, Cats, can, and will, open doors, for their own benefit, and should be able to "hold" (at least the bigger cats) the lantern in their mouths... i wish they will release a ln WildShape DLC, where you can keep the wildshape, and some merchants will hqve speak with animals, and use animals and an information and dellivery network, and yes, that includes cats.
your worst enemy in all of bg3 is that dead guys dog. You must engineer his death plot engineer it like only true cats can.
Watching this made me realize, that "Shadowheart" is a valid Warrior Cats name lol

I mean, most of the companions work. I can imagine an exotic oriental shorthair named Lae'zel or Karlach, a haughty colourpoint named Astarion, or a chonky friendly boi named Halsin.
Astarion would be a Birman silver tabby because he's a special boi and Halsin would be a ragged shorthaired Norwegian Forest cat 😂

This is due to how dnd rules jumps as 3ft flus strength score in vertical height, funnily enough because of this a dnd elephant has a 9 ft vertical
As a cat, can confirm that doors are my strongest adversary. No matter how much I claw or meow at them, they never seem to open without my human

As a Siamese cat, reject this argument unless the door is a hinged door with a doorknob. Can open door handles and turn keys left in doors.

@@blackjacktrialI had a Siamese cat that could open doors with doorknobs, actually. The handle ones were way easier, but the doorknob ones were possible hit or miss. High Dex Check, I guess. Well, and the handle couldn’t be too stiff. But she knew HOW.

A regular cat opens a door by playing with the door-stop spring until someone on the other side gets sufficiently annoyed and lets it in... Or just sit there and meow obnoxiously. Now THAT would've been an interesting interaction to include in an RPG: )

The idea of a cat showing up through a portal to challenge an elder brain is freaking adorable.

Honestly, it is very lazy of Shar's temple designers to just have a high wall with no roof protecting the inner sanctum.

When I was a kid we had this mystery where occasionally whoever was first to get up in the morning would find the front door wide open. After a few weeks we solved it: the door handle was very high up so Dad had tied a rope to the handle so the youngest kids could open it by themselves. Then our cat figured out how to use and let themselves in or out when no humans were around that she could "ask".
Larian should patch in pet accessible door handles! 😂
Right!! It was so dumb that ONLY doors caused it to be a failure, and that there were like 5 doors that had the problem :(

as a cat owner i can confirm that it is indeed realistic for cats to struggle with and complain about doors.
Apart from one of my bf's cats - she will headbutt the door until you are sick and tired of the banging and open it for her. And she will not quit. Less complaining in her case, and more of a "open or I annoy you until you do".
This reminds me of that one D&D meme when someone’s cat ended up sitting at the table while a player was in the restroom, someone put a dice in front of the cat & it rolled a Nat 20. Next thing you know, kitty is officially the party druid that’s constantly in wild shape 😂

Cool attention to detail with the rapport spores. The myconids scatter them onto people they wish to speak to, what they do is allow telepathic communication since myconids can’t speak verbally, so it makes sense that they can speak with you even as a cat.
Yet again, doors are the bane of cat existence.

Was randomly thinking what an all druid party would look like in this game and this video showed in my feed a little while later
Was pretty fun. It was kind of nice doing a run where I never do any shopping. Don't worry about gold, and never equip gear because it doesn't really matter.
Cats frolicking in the goblin camp was adorable.
"Can be beaten by a cat! What's your excuse?" should've honestly been the tagline for Baldur's Gate 3. That is, if anyone in the team had bothered to try to beat it as a cat, bunch of lazy slackers.

The only thing that's missing in this playthrough, is you sitting behind a door after finally making it through and meowing since you want to go back.

Cat necromancers are entirely appropriate. I recall a tale of a cat wiping a party so hard the DM gave it class levels decided by a dice roll and it got necromancer.
No joke, I was actually considering BG3 as a cat after my run as a dragon. I'm glad I didn't start on it yet!
Your dragon one was pretty interesting though for sure. The Dragon looked like you had a lot more fun than I had in my run
@@ProxyGateTactician I would believe that. There's a reason this one was further down on my list to not having started looking into it yet, it seemed like it would be pretty painful and I considered having Gale-Cat be the main character to end it in act 2.

There is an Upper City Sewer Map?!? 1000hs for nothing. Dude this run was crazy! Good job on the run and the video, even if it was for my preferance like 10% too fast paced.

Gaaah I was always wondering why Astarion said something like "we can fight or sneak our way through" and then the only way I spotted was the big courtyard fight. Made me wonder if there was an alternative
@@ProxyGateTacticianthat part of the vid is so cool! But also, you can sneak past the whole courtyard without invisibility portions, there are only a couple mandatory pick offs of lvl 1 gobbos on the wall & then the race with a nautiloid to climb netherbrain

The fact that *doors* were the biggest obstacle somehow feels very appropriate for a D&D-based game.

This is an incredible video. It doesn't have the fanciest editing or the most bombastic concept ever, but the script is consistently funny throughout, and little touches like «study session» really warmed my heart. Honestly, never expected that kinda content to entertain me that much. Hats off.

As a side note: This narration style reminds me so much of another challenge runner I used to watch but can't remember the name of. The mannerisms, cadence, all delightfully similar.

I have sent a bug report: "Multiple mandatory doors could not be used as a cat."
The cutscenes not playing is obviously intended because cats don't give a fuck about talking to ppl.
The only one that really bothered me was the Baldur's Gate City one because it's WIDE OPEN! There is no reason it should have been blocked. The one that requires you to speak the password at least makes sense

Surprised you didn't go tavern brawler and strength giant potions for tons of damage
I only had access to 1 giant strength potion in act 1, but tbh that would have been smart. There's the 1 near auntie ethel in the grove. I actually was glad I saved it though because I couldn't carry the explosive barrels to destroy the Dryder without that elixir on me. they would have been too heavy. The smokepowder ones I could carry just fine, but other ones were too heavy
