And he gave the man who helped him the trophy, because he said he made it all possible. Not many people, no matter how accomplished would do something like that. A great rider, but an even greater man.

Joseph Bradshaw Guy Martin gave up on the Isle Of Man,he could not conquer the course.
Despite the riding and engineering talent that Guy has, he is genuinely a nice person, I once shouted good luck Guy and he turned, smiled and said "thanks mate", it felft we were actual friends. PROPER!!
I did the same at the TT he was down by the sea in the evening. He gave me a thumbs up. He was queuing to take a special needs child on the sling shot ride.
What a genuine dude.
Can't help but smile along with him when he finds out he won.

From the first CZcams, TT video that I watched with Guy in it, I've been a fan. His infectious smile, and zest for life make it impossible to not like him. What you see is genuine, and having a pint with him would be a great experience. I wish he'd been able to win the TT, but I'm happy he was able to recover from his injuries and continue to pursue his career. Stay safe my man, I look forward to your next conquest.
The most British thing I’ve seen today is Guy successfully getting a date and saying “cheers, mate”
we are talkking about a guy that pretty much broke every bone in his body at one point and comes back to win pikes peak. Absolutely in a class of his own, well done sport

I could envy Guy for many things like the way he rides a motorcycle and the opportunities he now gets to do so many cool things, but what I envy most is the way he derives so much simple enjoyment from these things, he's like a kid in a toy shop.

If you've never seen the mountain first hand I don't think you can say that. It's a mountain that sticks up above all the others around it.

Guy is and has been my idol since the first time I saw him race in back in the earlier 2000s. Just a super down to earth dude who’s happiness and smile is contagious. I aspire to be even half as good at riding as he is
I've been riding for 30 years, and aspire to have as much as 1/10th of Guy's skill. It'll never happen. I'll ride my ride but share the same smiles!

Guy Martin,easily the nicest and most humble natural racer in the world? National treasure!
These videos dont give the road justice. It is a amazing stretch and even in a car just cruisin up with the family and ya look over the edge and ya swear you would starve to death before ya rolled to the bottom. Its a special person to do this full out hammer down. And not too long ago half of it was still dirt.
I've drove to the top of Pikes Peak when I visited Colorado Springs, 25 ýears ago now. And what an experience it was! Its only c.16 miles to the top (c.14,300 feet) but you have to have at least half a tank of fuel to drive it. Tells you something about the road/ gravel track conditions. Switch back after switch back. When you get to the top, there used to be a cafe and a nice car park surrounded by lightening poles. What struck me was even walking from the car to the cafe for a coffee, it made me feel breathless due to the high altitude. Should be on everyone's bucket list!😂
It's usually cold, windy at the top, with 'thin' air. For people who aren't used to the mountains, and just drive up to the top, it is a bit of a shock!
We know guy didn’t get lucky with that girl or he would have won by 30 seconds... just because of the weight saved by draining his massive nads.

My first time at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb was in 1959. Guy Martin's winning time here is over a minute faster than the record-breaking time Bobby Unser recorded in winning the open-wheel championship car class all those years ago.

He and his brothers went up that dirt faster in a sideways slide than they do today. Back then the dirt road was smoother than pavement. There was a full-time road crew with trucks & graders at work. Giving the road to forestry who paved it was based on politics. Nothing else.

FYI one: Bobby would have had no problems with the pavement. He raced sports cars (stock cars too) thru the years and won the Indy 500 three times.
FYI TWO: His kid brother Al Sr was one of only three drivers to win the 500 four times. As well, he is the only driver to win the Triple Crown of Indy Cars, ie, all three 500s (Indy, Ontario, Pocono) in a single year! He also drove Sports Cars & Stock Cars too.
Guy's reaction to winning was wonderful and I enjoyed it along with him.
Nothing better than Winners Beer at the end. Guy Martin, man with Balls of Steel. A true racer and a bloody excellent bloke.

Putting all else aside, like what an amazing rider and competitor he is, i just dig him as a truly genuinely awesome and very good person he is, so grounded. Simply a great bloke, i'd love to knock a few beers back with him. Congrats Guy, you legend mate.

Real racer sees only the road, no trees, no cliffs, no drops, no humans just a narrow road, powerful machine and big balls sitting on it full of adrenalin and thats why they are like glued on the tarmac. The moment you loose focus, the race is done. ❤

What i love is that Guy is a trunk mecanic from Grimbsy UK, who dont think him self as a bike racer, just does it because he enjoys it, bike are not even the biggies passion in his live (fixing trucks is) Yet i he turns up at pike peeks and every one knows his name. That how to live life, have so much passion and put every thing you have in to every moment you have, that even your side hobbies are know about around the world.
