Normally you would never put a 16 year old in one of the most insane Porsche racecars ever built, to race up one of the most dangerous hillclimbs in the world. But Lia Block's skills are anything but normal - she’s unstoppable. So a few months ago we followed along as she drove her dad Ken Block's Porsche Hoonipigasus racecar for the first time EVER, just days before a wild and emotional tribute run up the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

As a father of 4 beautiful children and a loving wife that has taken care of me. This is very very emotional and had me balling my eyes out. Ken raised one hell of a daughter here and she has to be very disciplined for Ken to give her the go ahead to drive the 1,400hp car.
I know parents that push their kids to do what the parents wanted to be. I don't think for 1 second Ken forced her into this. She wanted it and she trained Hardee then Ken probably did when he started. We all want the very best for our children and nothing will ever change it.

She already is. Getting to watch Lia up close during this past ARA season and watching her beat guys that have been driving rally for longer than she's been alive was a real honor. Then you chat with her and she's just so cool and chill for a young woman her age. At 16 years old she not only won the Open 2WD championship in the ARA... she kind of dominated it. Whatever it is she decides to do with her life, she's going to crush it.

She’s always making her own. And giving all of us Motorsport lovers a beacon of light in these dark times. Your father’s smiling cheek to cheek right now up there. And I know a lot of us fans of Ken and motorsports in general are too. Thank you for this blessing of a video and experience with LIA and I hope she keeps paving her and her father’s way into every corner she shreds. You’re a legend. :side note finally reaching the end. I wonder what she was thinking when climbing those peaks. Was she focused on driving. Or the moments of her father. I wonder if every corner made her relive a moment she had with him. Seeing the end of this really shows the legend of the block family. “You don’t know what someone means to you until that moment happens” is the best end summary. Love you all 🖤

Girl can drive but don't kid yourself. If that car actually has 1400bhp that's basically the limit for pro drivers. Anything more and proper down force and your bones are going to brake during corners. Porsche 919 evo engineers found that limits few years ago. However, in the end I'm really glad that it was done--for Lia, her family, for her loved ones, the Hoonigan group, and for every fan of this group of people out there. I'll admit I teared up quite a few times during the video, especially when the KB43ver was put on the front aero. Those transition shots during the run between Lia and Ken just opened the floodgates. I thought I was sad, but honestly think they were tears of happiness. I'm glad that we got to know the legacy of Ken Block, glad that the legacy was finally getting as proper a sunset as it can, and glad to see a new legacy being birthed. I know Lia has been racing for a while now, but it just feels like she... I don't know, "graduated?" with this run. Like without a shred of doubt we can confidently think she can just do anything she sets her mind to now... and she's just 16!!! No pressure, but I really hope we can see many of your adventures in the future. It would mean the world to us many fans. Regardless, all the best of luck in the future ♥

He showed me how to point any vehicle (especially the U.S. Army Stryker fully loaed) us hill against gravity and drift it sideways along the "goatpaths", for miles and miles at a time. Not just that, but the transitioning between the side-mountain drift into straight down narrowing corridors into upward side-mountain again.

Can't put into words how much this video meant to me. I couldn't even imagine what they're going through and to be able to do what they did as family and a team is absolutely stunning. I hope that should I ever be taken away from my boys and family, that I've left at least a fraction of the impact on them that Ken had on the world and the world around him. Congrats and much love to everyone. RIP Ken.
