One of the best rock and roll songs of all time that most people don't know about.
In my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful songs written. Listening to Rick Danko singing it with The Band continues to bring all sorts of emotions to the surface. What a lovely cover version. Absolutely continued in the spirit intended I think.
Take a bow folks. Truly a very sweet rendition of this timeless classic.
Richard Manuel....too pure for this world
He really was a songwriter of the highest grade possible was Robbie Robertson . Some of his tunes are true authentic American / Canadian classics . What a lifetime body of work ? RIP ..you were all class and originality .
One of the best covers of The Band I've ever heard!
One of the greatest songs of all time and a really hard one to do well, partly since everyone's always going to compare it to Rick Danko's masterpiece, but you guys nailed it.
Completely agree. So hard, so good. Not enough Danko in my life lately. That will be immediately rectified.
The capped Telecaster hombre......
Bravo...
Perfection
That was outstanding. That did The Band and Danko proud there.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kudos to Misner and Smith and the guitarist they employed that night. One of my favorite and what these wonderful Bay Area musicians got down here is the harmony and I'll make a point to track them down a full 6 years since this recording.
LETS GOOOO!!!!!!!!!! If you don’t have goosebumps, you don’t have a pulse. Thank you for this.
The song is a treasure. So is this version.
BEAUTIFUL rendition of BEAUTIFUL song!!! very TALENTED players! thx for posting!
I wasn't expecting this. Great harmonies and real Robbie Robertson sounding guitar until the superb guitar solo at the end.
Ahhhhhhhh... An Oasis in a huge desert! All that rain can bring me back to life! Thank you!
Very nice job...Not many can do justice to this song besides Rick Danko. I would say you do very well! Bravo!
I just lost someone. Thank you for this. Amazing
Wow! This made me cry. Such a beautiful, heartbreaking rendition.
Nice arrangement of this beautiful song. Rick would be proud.
Miss you Rick
my god thats one clean tone from all three. amazing, thanks for sharing
That was truly exceptional! Love the Band and this was a great rendition of a great song.
Sorry but….HOLYSHIT. This is incredible
I visit this every now and again, it 's unbelievably moving, thank you!
just checking in on this, glad it's still here
That tele really dialed in for Robbys sound and the squeal very good 👍
Excellent! Really enjoyed the guitar work! Splendid harmony
Just beautiful.... all 3 were great.... Really love the bass...
Musicianship that takes your breath away. The amazing thing about Misner and Smith is that, as fantastic as this cover is, you will discover a world of original material just as great that goes toe-to-toe with giants of American popular music like The Band. Check out any of their CDs. If you love close harmony two-part singing like The Everly Brothers, these folks will make your hair stand on end!
Love it. I want more of their music.
Well done, it's a Great song, well played,....especially the Tele work!
Beautiful rendition
VERY GOOD GANG
That was exquisite! Thank you for sharing!

Wauv.....a brilliant interpretation. I still have all their records. It was such an incredible time.

Great performance for a masterpiece of Song👏
Love this band and their originals are as amazing as their covers.

Josh -- Outstanding Tele performance
You aint josh'n...
I just discovered this. Beautifully and tastefully done. You all really did justice to this incredible song.
thanks a lot danko helm robersssssssssssston
Awsome
The electric guitar solo is sounding like the great Roy Buchanan.❤️
There's a good reason for that. There was a connection between Robbie 'n Roy.
Second to none, the best cover I've ever heard you nailed the pathos and hurt that's more then the sum of its parts if that makes sense , just amazing thank you
Bless you
lovely
VERY nicely done. BRAVO!!!😎
That's rite!
Excellent performance! Impressive!
You guys should have way more subscribers .. that was insanely good.
Well Done interpretation
Takes me back....
Hippie-Cowgirl
NICE job on one of my favorite songs! Josh channeled Robbie nicely.
Mmmhmmm ❤️👍🏻❤️
You really nailed the emotion in the singing. Without that, this song is just flat and boring. Good job!
Does it sound this good every take ?
感動しました。
"I was impressed"
Awesome!!! Sorry Rick D. but great version
Just a face in a crowd on a dead end street....
The two of you played such a great rendition of one the best songs of all the years of rock 'N roll. But, the electric guitarist either never heard that song, or never felt that song. Total dragging hindrance on what you guys still managed make something really good.
well I've heard it a bunch of times.. and in no way trying to copy the original.. but sorry you disliked my playing so much! Each to his own. :-)
@@JoshYenne personally, I thought your playing was in the spirit of what Robbie Robertson played on The Last Waltz. My two cents.
I don't agree at all, thought Yenne did a good job. Enjoyed the song, reminded me how much I miss The Band.
@@markmulvihill totally agree. So much more than JRR's seagull noises. Nicer-looking guitar too.
Great job, all three of you! Great pace, harmonies and feel. Just missed Garth's soprano sax, but I guess he was busy elsewhere.
I love this song, I think the telecaster brings it back too close to the original version, I'd like to hear steel or mandolin on it instead
I've changed my opinion. The guitar is more reminiscent of Jerry Donahue than of Robbie Robertson - still beautiful. The harmonies are less anarchic than those of the band - still beautiful.
It's nice. But it's no Rick danko ;)
Thanks for letting me know Barbour your music when you came into our booth at the whole earth fest. Janae
