I saw Rick and The Band do this many times. I'm glad I checked this out. The instrumentalists are all outstanding and Aoife sings her heart out. Thanks.
Great singer, great band (everyone), great rendition! I been loving this song since 1976, and it's great to hear an new version! Thank you!
This song is part of my life.
Rick Danko, and his soulful take on this, brought me here and I find a new artist to add to the pile...the circle widens
This is a perfect song and Rick Danko performed it like god. You do it justice. Congratulations.
indeed...takes some kinda steely spine to make a run at a song so completely associated with it's originator. Ms. o'donovan has some serious lady-sack! i've decided she ahs the chops for this. it doesn't hurt to have a band that can keep up. solid from start to finish
Vocally and musically I have never heard a finer cover of what is one of the great love songs. Bravo ❤❤❤
Rule No 1.
Never try to cover any number by The Band particularly anything sung by Rick, except you are Aoife O'Donovan and Sierra Hull and all the other fantastic musicians who just knocked the bejesus out of Rule No 1, just SUPERB !!! Greetings from Ireland and Thank You for posting ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
making a run at danko's magnum opus takes serious spine, and TRULY she does it justice, but the song is danko's alone.
Was up front for this beautiful tribute set to the band. The various artists poured their hearts out. You could feel the connection they all have too this great! Long live The Band😊
It's nice seeing and hearing the next generation keeping this great song alive. thank you
Awesome, Aoife! Brings tears to my eyes as Rick did.
Cracking good Aoife, greetings from your homeland, Ireland.
I love the Band great cover RIP Rick Danko
One correction: not a cover. Robbie Robertson write it, Danko sang it, so it's a Band origina.
These tribute sets at Freshgrass are fantastic. Allison and co. do the artists justice.
Great take on a great classic song!
I really enjoyed this cover of a very nice song. Excellent vocals by Aoife as usual. She is one of my favorite vocalists. Great instrumental backing as well!
i was wait'in to see garth walk in on saxa but he's a bit old now love him. very nice set up you lot
Excellent version of the finest love song written!
cant get enough of this ..... superb !!
Love the Band and this was a great cover. I always wonder what RR was dodging when he wrote stampeding cattle they rattle the walls. I think he got to close and needed to veer off. Lucky enough to catch the original lineup 3x's b4 they broke up
Lovely version of a great song. Enjoyed it!
This is a beauty!!!
Beatiful smile!!
Love that Aoife...
Thank you!
awesome :)))
Lovely. Love him or hate him, never forget that Robbie Robertson powered The Band. He conflicts me, too, but he is a major talent. And he wrote this.
Yeah he might be getting those royalty checks but I vote NOOOOOOOOOO....
Makes you realise just how great danko and the band were
She’s just the bee’s knees.
This is fantastic. Who is the mandolin player?
Sierra Hull
Thank you.
Not a bad cover but I have a hard time hearing this without Danko's pleading, crying voice and a bit of yodel.
Ha!! Me too!!!

The bass player looks like Joe Ely.
Torched at the start - you don't smile in an extremely sad song...these are not into the emotions and truth of this song!
