- Here are my best, last-minute SAT strategies. Follow these 3 test-taking tips and tricks to improve your score! If you are taking an SAT soon, you will want to follow general SAT test strategies more than try to learn some specific tips that don't show up often. Good luck!! Make certain to focus on your weaknesses over the next few weeks, but once you get about a week or 10 days from the test, switch to reviewing all your strengths and perfecting your pacing.

Test is today and I’m trying my best to not be nervous, but just have a feeling that I won’t do good.
I know how you feel. Think positively, don't second guess yourself, and remember, you can take it again if this time doesn't go well. While I know you don't want to ever see this test again, knowing you have other chances may help reduce some of the stress. Good luck!

@@joyrogers9677 The trick with the score around the national average is to remember on easy questions you need to do what they want (which is pick the obvious answers), but when the questions get hard (usually the more complex ones are hard), make certain to find the obvious answer then cross it off. How could a hard, complex problem have an obvious answer? You got this!

@@EngeniusPrep I took it and it wasn’t that hard. The essay section was really easy tbh. My friend who doesn’t even get that good of grades did it like a breeze. Reading section seemed kind of easy as well. Math section (no calculator) was pretty easy ,with calculator section was pretty difficult for me but i think i did pretty good overall tbh. Good luck! Don't forget to get up a little early, do a little physical exercise, shower, eat something, then actually do a few warm up problems from all the sections so you hit the test ready. You got this!

Good luck! Best thing to do with a week left is perfect your pacing. Just do 1 section at a time so you don't wear yourself out.
heyyy my exam is this Saturday (June 5, 2021) I have to take sat subject tests m1 and m2 because sat subject tests are going to be canceled will these help me like subject test exam or are they only for the sat 1 math and I'm really nervous because when I did my exam last month I got in 600s and I really want to get an 800 it's my second time doing the exam im a tenth grader I was rushed into taking them will you please give me more tips that'll help me if you know any
First, good luck! Second, the concepts work on the subject tests as well (they just have different numbers for the score). The subject tests are knowledge based, so gimmick tricks won't work, but pacing, distractors, and looking for wrong answers works great!

Good luck! What I hear is that the previous students struggled a bit because they weren't used to sitting in one place for several hours (kids who were in schools that were previously locked down). So remember to stay focused!

Focus on knowing how many questions you should do to get the score you want. This will dictate your pacing. With limited time, that is the best strategy.
I’m noticing a lot of people who have the SAT in less than a few days.

SAT takes off 1/4 a point for wrong answers according to the official sat study guide, and no penalty for no answer.
I think you might be reading an old guide! The SAT has not penalized for a score since 2016. Hope you get his before your test. Good luck!

I'm not sure about the MCAT structure, but I know searching for wrong answers works for tests and narrowing life choices down (e.g., finding the perfect med school is hard, so look for all the ones that don't fit your needs and eliminate). I'll do a little research and see if I can find anything.
I always get 800 on math but dont get above 600 on english and want to raise it to 700 710, what should i do?
The verbal section isn't rule based, so it makes improving so much more challenging. You need to read critically and understand the rules of grammar (grammar is rule based, so that should be a bit easier for you to learn). If you are an 11th grader, I have a great critically reading program. If you are a 12th grader, I'm afraid there isn't much you can do to fix your reading in such a short period of time.
@@EngeniusPrep I have exams after 5 days, I have noticed whenever I am able to comprehend passages, I tend to get 9 questions correct but when I dont understand the passage I just get 4 5 of them correct. Do you have any tips to maintain focus and tackling passages?
@@pranjalr162 On easier or less complex problems, look for the obvious answer. On harder or more complex problems, look for the obvious answer and cross it off. If nothing else, that improves your odds.
Hard problems can't have obvious answers, otherwise it wouldn't be a hard problem.

If you don’t get penalized for wrong answers, why answer more questions when you can just focus on the ones you know, take your time on the ones you don’t, and leave blanks because there’s no penalty.
Yes, this is the correct strategy. But pacing is still important and you must push to answer as many questions as you can correctly. Always leave a minute at the end of each section to bubble in any questions you left blank hoping to pick up an extra question or two correct.

Exactly! Unless you are scoring a 750 per section, doing all the questions is the wrong way to go about it. But, I’ve only done this for 35 years, so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about!
