- From the dawn of creation, THE COUNCIL has maintained the Balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are THE HORSEMEN, Nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural union of angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power. However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the Nephilim.
Still reeling from the events on Eden, WAR and STRIFE have been given a new assignment -- LUCIFER, the enigmatic and deceptive demon king, has been plotting to upset the Balance by granting power to master demons throughout Hell. War and Strife must hunt down these masters, gather information, and ultimately fight their way through a tangled, demonic conspiracy that threatens to forever upset the Balance and unravel all of creation.
DARKSIDERS: GENESIS is an action/adventure game that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of DARKSIDERS before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman STRIFE.

I'm really hoping Strife gets his own standalone game at some point. He seems like a Dante style character and he wpuld be a blast to play a whole game of

The way you two were playing sounds & reminds me of that southpark episode when they were playing WOW (World of Warcraft.) I was thinking of getting this for the switch lite (if i could,) but i really don't know how good of a game this is going to be.
I am glad Joe Madureira is back as a creative director of the game. BTW War is voiced by Liam O'Brien, and Strife is voiced by Phil LaMarr.
Joe Mad is fantastic. Darksiders 3 was alright, but it lacked a certain visual quality that all the others have had.
looking forward to this game. pre-ordered the CE. I am cautiously optimistic for Darksiders 4. they really didn´t treat Fury very well. I just got the Abyssal armor for Fury and holy effing hell does it look stupid, especially her running makeup. Nice video you two

they can do split-screen whenever player are far from each other, then merged when they in certain vicinity,, is it really that hard to implemented in the full game??
That has literally been done in Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Which came out in like 2011 xD The technology is definitely there.
It's not that hard but it would fuck up the interface. You complained without thinking first or even look at the game. Both War and Strife have an entirely different set of controls and skills, merging the screen would just fucking up the UI for both characters.
That is quite hard to program, most games have problems programming just an decent camera, but yeah quite a shame.
Please devs add merge screen!

In regards to your PoE being too clicky. They mentioned that as part of their goal to bring everything to a 2019 standard, they are looking at the flask system and may overhaul it. So hopefully that makes it a little less clicky/spammy. Anyway, awesome vid and keep it up :)

Actually he is. Albeit he's also known as Conquest.
Though theologians and popular culture differ on the first Horseman, the four riders are often seen as symbolizing Conquest or Pestilence (and less frequently, the Christ or the Antichrist), War, Famine, and Death.

The interpretation of the rider being Pestilence came as late as the beginning of XX century and it most likely spread from the four calamities of those times: Plague, War, Famine and Death. With the latter three already present in the scripture, poor Conquest was renamed to Pestilence.
And while yes, the interpretation of who Conquest exactly is in the scripture vary (Christ, Antichrist, or someone else), he was never associated with any diseases in Revelation.

If you wanted to make Famine as a character and not make it a caster it would play just like Grendel in warframe!

Edit2: Isn't the story of this game way before even Darksiders I? It seems like in the opening cutscene that they just recently slaughtered the Nephilim, so technically Fury's horse would be still alive? (Also I think Strife's horse was called Ravage)

His horse is Mayhem and his super form is his Riot form.

War has chaos form and rides ruin
Death has reaper form and rides despair
Fury has havoc form and rides rampage
Strife has anarchy form(changed from riot form) and rides mayhem

does this game have endgame grind for good items like D3,PoE and those type of games? or is this game just a single player campaign story once finished is done.
@The Guy it doesn't it just a regular single player game. Once you beat it you unlock the hardest mode and can beat it all-over.but there's no gear grind or anything. But the game is FUN! And worth the price am having a blast so far.
@The Guy well after u beat it like i said u unlock the hardest mode and can play again through it and keep upgrading ur stuff that not completed. Sound like NG+ to me but this is my 1st darksider game so.

The mysterious items they keep picking up are later revealed to be creature cores, as you continue to kill you can upgrade the cores so there is sorta a grind for that, but you don't ever grind for armor or weapons and such. There is a sorta new game plus, you unlock apocalyptic mode but that's about it. I beat the game not too long ago and it's pretty kick ass
Honestly they need to give strife his own game just like the the other horseman. I think we will get 2 more main line games. part 4 will be strife Nd part 5 will be all 4 horseman

I feel Famine would run in biting and eating their enemies rather than casting debuffs on people, as I see Famine as a being that is in a permanent state of being hungry and burns off what they eat at an impossible rate so they are always thin and underweight

I’m fairly good at playing games; played quite a bit of diablo, darksiders, and dark souls... my girlfriend on the other hand is not. She pretty inexperienced and not very good, but she loves to play games with me. Is this something that can be picked up pretty easy by someone who doesn’t normally game?

Hey Wander. Please try Minecraft Story Mode. Its a choice and reflex based game where your choices choose the ending . Its a game worth trying.

Darksiders2 still best
All of them have their strengths.
Darksiders 1 had the best storytelling.
2 had the best gameplay, visuals, and lore.
3 had the best exploration? Unlike the rest where I was always kind of always on a linear track in each area, 3 was a fascinating tangle to piece together.
Genesis simplifies a lot, but the music, art, co-op, humor, and gameplay are very quickly winning me over. It might be the best in the series IMO, but also so different from the rest that it's not a fair comparison.

I wonder what exactly need to have in a game to be call a Diablo-like... Because for what I see of Diablo is basically MMO controls but with less people and not exactly a "Singleplayer MMO" but in the similar concept, which is can be fun at the begging but turns be boring later on, while this is way more interesting and saying "Is a Diablo-like" feel bit injustify (?)... I would "Champions: Return to Arms-like" because this game remember me that game due similar playstyle, but in that game the zoom was changable and if you was alone could zoom even more! Even had a spin-off Baldur's Gate that had a similar vain to it.
Also I hope that franchise could be back but I think the Dev studio was shutdown and dunno who have the rights of it...

You have few options, online coop, local coop ( only with 2 gamepads Split screen ) and solo offline mode, you choose it on main menu before starting a game

Top-down doesn’t equal isometric.
This isn't top down though? This is 100% isometric, as are most Diablo-likes.
Wanderbots An isometric image is an orthographic projection where the camera is tilted by 45 degrees horizontally and 45 degrees vertically. The camera in this game meets the orientation criteria but it is not orthographic.
An orthographic projection is an image without perspective (and so “isometric perspective” is an oxymoron). That means no vanishing points, no objects shrinking with distance, no parallax when the camera changes location (but there is parallax when the camera rotates), and parallel tracks stay equidistant. This game’s camera violates this criteria.
@@rensin2 In video game terminology isometric is generally more lenient on the specifics and used to describe near-isometric angles themselves. No need to be a nitpicker if you're not going to provide actual feedback.
Dilan G. I would argue that this camera is nowhere near isometric. The perspective cues standout a lot and the main feature of isometric images is the lack of perspective. Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow is a game that one could reasonably call near isometric, because it is only missing a horizontal tilt.
Also, being nitpicky is kind of my thing.
