Darksiders is an action-adventure video game developed by Vigil Games and Published by THQ. The game takes its inspiration from the apocalypse and battle of armageddon described in the Bible's Book of Revelation, with the player taking the role of "War", one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

After coming from a DS3 play through, I now know why the Council sent War first, be cause he was the most loyal to them. Thus, he became their scapegoat so the other horsemen don’t question the Council.

Don’t ask me where I came up with this, but I always considered Darksiders to be Diablo in an alternate universe. Like, in terms of story. It sure as hell has more in common with Diablo than it does any mythology.

I'm loving this game already! Man the Watcher is so cool in design and personality, he kinda reminds me of Ryuk from Death Note, but if he actually bossed Light around and gave a fuck about what happened.

Yuppers. The DS series has both an excellent voice cast and excellent voice directing.

I forget who you said is making you do this LP, but I remember you approve. I also approve, and very much enjoy this game. Its sequel, not so much. DSII is cool and all, but I just couldn't get into it as easily as this one.
Strange. I got into the second game a lot easier than this one. Still love this series though and I'm looking forward to DS3

For some reason I really want to see a version of this game where the part of War is played by Eddie Rigs (Brutal Legend).

What I dont get is who is the destroyer and why do they talk like your supost to know who rhat is.what role were the horse men supposed to fill during the final war?
I think who he is will become a little bit more clear soon. The short of it is, he meddled and caused the end times before the final seal was broken, and War was framed.
Yeah I think the dash is the only problem I have with this game. I prefer quick and nimble dodges in these types of games and the dash in this game screwed me over many times. Main reason why I prefer Darksiders 2 combat over this game. Nothing wrong with it just the dash isn't my favorite way of dodging. And what you said about attacking out of the dash was also a problem. I found myself doing dash attacks unintentionally a lot in this game

Saiyan Fox Darksiders 3 doesn't exist, unfortunately. I don't know if I'm ever going to do X7 or X8. Those two break my heart.

Darksiders 3 does not exist... but Nordic Games, the people who bought the rights to Darksiders after THQ fell apart, have announced that they have every intention of making a third instalment for the series. They're also going to be bringing DSII to PS4 and XBox One.

On Joe Mad's other work being more prolific than what you know...sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Nowadays, he's probably more infamous in comics as being the artist for a series called The Ultimates 3, which was a grittier, alternate universe version of the Avengers, and is almost universally panned for it's awful writing (not by Mad himself, but by Jeph Loeb, famous for his work on Batman: The Long Halloween and Hush), like a villain using a sex tape between Tony Stark and the recently deceased Black Widow being released to the public to distract them, and for revealing that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were in an incestual relationship, and when Captain America understandably goes "WTF," the rest of the team basically chides him for being an old prude.
Outside of that, he's had a few issues in recent books like Avenging Spider-Man, Savage Wolverine and Inhuman, and...that's about it. The problem seems to be that while his art still holds up, he just can't keep a monthly schedule for his art for longer than three to five issues.
Jay Kay That sounds batshit insane, and really disappointing. Shame Loeb penned that, Hush is one of my favorite Batman stories.
Scribe If you think that sounds batshit insane, you should hear about Loeb's sequel to that, the big event called "Ultimatum." It came from an interesting place, in that they realized that since this is an alternate universe, they could get away with doing a lot more crazy things than in the regular universe...but Loeb ended up making it into superhero torture porn. Two of the more infamous bits from that event includes the death of a superheroine called the Wasp from the Blob eating her (a trait he hadn't shown before or since), and Doctor Strange being squeezed by a giant demon until his head exploded like a zit.
The bright spot was that some writers were able to use it to make more interesting stories about it, including the universe's Reed Richards going insane and becoming possibly the most powerful super-villain of both universes called The Maker.
...Yeah, comics be crazy, y'all.
Scribe In fairness, I should say that it sounds like Loeb is doing better of late. I've heard decent things about his recent series, Nova, and in a few months he's going to be working again with frequent collaborator Tim Sale for a Captain America story set in WWII.
