- Recently I had the crazy idea of designing an effects pedal myself... problem was... someone already made it! The Mosky Audio (not sponsored) DC5 combines Distortion, Overdrive, Chorus, Delay, and Boost effects, all into one very affordable stomp box style pedal! At under $50, this is an incredible value and sounds fantastic!

Youngsters are quite fortunate these days
The prices of usable gear and devices are great
And your excellent videos showcasing such
Are priceless
Rock On
Ahh the ultimate warrior and macho man randy savage..cant get more 80s than that!
Snap into a Slim Jim!
Na bro that was the 90,s
Oooooooohhhh yyyyyeeaaa
I just bought it today and believe me, i am amazed: it is really 5 analog pedals in one! Plus it is quite easy to use and get great tones!
i bought this one 1 year ago, i just love it and still using it.
Surprisingly nice growl from that pedal; Mosky seems determined to make quality gear for the budget minded guitarist; great demo!
max i love the distortion and overdrive section of it the delay is awesome the chorus is ok but it’s really not bad good pedal i am goin to buy it to check it out for myself thank you for the review
Love your demos, Max, and all of the affordable and quirky brands that you have on your channel. I would have loved to have heard, say, the chorus and delay alone with a cleaner sound, but for less than $50, I guess I can find out for myself !!!
As always, Well done Max!!
Another great one, Max.
Amazon ran out, but eBay had lots of sellers. Ordered 1 for 48 bucks with free shipping. Psyched about this affordable raid into pedal-controled territory. Semper Fi.
Awesome! Nice find, I'll have to check it out in the future
Thanks for the video. I've seen this Brando around for awhile. Looks like a great deal with great tone. Have a great day.
youre playing is really coming along man, sounding pretty good these days
Enjoyed the review. Just bought one as a backup to my Helix floor unit that I could use in a pinch.. I use the ADA cab sim.
Maxwell, I love your channel and have no clue why your channel is not bigger. Keep up the great work! You rock!
Thank you!
Man ... they should include a neon spandex and one of these great hair metal wigs. But for that kind of money, I guess that would be asking too much. This thing sounds killer and it replicates that 80ty metal sound so damn well. I'm deeply impressed!
Excellent vid bud. Really helping me figure out what effects to start with. 😎🤘
Glad to help!
Being that I am a complete nerd for nostalgia -- I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE T-SHIRT!
Awesome cost and performance! I am sold to this box! Great review!
Nice wrestlemania shirt! Those tappings are great dude!
And once again, I'm hearing a master of guitar play through some gear Ido t have yet, and now I want one. I know I won't sound like Maxwell if I get one, but that is the true NGD dreamers' dream.
I have been eyeing this pedal for a while now. I'll get one real soon.
EDIT: Finally managed to get one of this. Maaaan! This thing breathes fire! I love the Distortion + Overdrive combo on this pedal, giving me great chugs and lead tones, plus the Delay to give my licks great feel. For its size and price this is really a bang for the buck!
Max is the Ultimate Warrior of Pedal reviews.
Very new to guitar and think one of these is a must especially for the price point. Great video and you have a new subscriber 😊
Man! that is the perfect pedal for me :o gotta check it out, thanks for the video
This man has the perfect voice for this
Ultimate Warrior had some of the most hype intros.
Great as always 👍
Very nice sounds!
Love to try it..
Nice choice on the shirt! I have the same one!!
I have the blue one with overdrive, boost, delay, and reverb. Btw it's awesome!
I think I might have to get one of these, I have a pocket pod but like things more simple and straightforward to use. I mainly want distortion and delay
Distortion + overdrive + chorus + delay = bark at the moon guitar melody.
Eye Like It .
Thanks Maxx 👍🏻
Thanks i just ordered one. Amazon had 10 in stock.
That lead at the top was fire
Totally eBay’d one of these bad boys up IMMEDIATELY. 👍👍👍
Great review Max!
Thanks! 👍
Seems to be a lot of pedals similar to this coming out from several Far East manufacturers, some identical, some with slight variances. My favorite is the Getaria, AKA Cuvave Cube Baby, I got mine for under 45 USD off Amazon shipped to my door. I actually like the Getaria better than the pedal you're presenting for a few reasons: 1) Getaria charges by way of Micro USB, so it holds a charge and does not need outside power while using 2) It has many Amp Sims with a gain control and Cab IR's, so it's crazy versatile, and you can replace the onboard ones with your own 3) It has onboard distortion, delay, reverb, and chorus with Mix, Feedback and Time knobs, 4) Bluetooth onboard ,5) Tuner onboard, 6) A recording out, 7) Cheaper. That's just a steal, and it sounds really good as well, I use it on my fly rig.
Max, this sounds like a cool one to check out too! I noticed there's another branded as iSet as well. Looks like they're all the same with just some different lettering on the case.
got a link?
Wish these multi-effects had flange, my all-time favorite modulation...

Greetings from México!!!!!! Excellent video!!!!
Holy cow what a great pedal and it's only $50??!!
I was expecting like $200
What a great find man!
Awesome vid! I may have to pick one up myself
I checked the link so I must be late to the party because Amazon says "Currently Unavailable." I'm thinking Max's subscribers bought out everything they had in stock!!! Great Job Max!!!!
EBay has them for about 48 bucks with free shipping. Some Reverber Scalpers exploited the assumed "shortage" and listed the pedal for 70...80....100...125....
Predatory opportunists. Just sayin'
@@GaryKatz Great Comment!!! Thank you for sharing the input. It definitely gives insight into...And I totally agree with your label of...Predatory Opportunists!!!!! Good Job!!!
@@GaryKatz An addition...E-Bay's lowest price as of right now is $ 60 and it says limited quantities available. Max has a great input on the Supply / Demand of products he reviews. To me that shows how much value his subscribers place on his evaluations of every piece of equipment he reviews!!!
@@lostreb Agreed. Max has proven himself to be an authoritative, legitimate primary source of credible information. Artistry and solid 'scientific method' objectivity are impressive, and extremely helpful. Also, being a gifted musician allows us to test the reality of what is possible with a myriad of guitars and effects samples. Makes his depth of knowledge accessible to all of us.
That is a sick guitar. I love black & gold LP style guitars. The pedal really makes great tones. However, I still think the tones are great because you are the player. Just sayin!
Well done Mad Max
Love the T too..

Just bought with an additional $14 discount on Amazon, thanks for the video. Great heads up on cool affordable box.
Me too! I don’t even need this, but for under $40? Why not?
Hey Dave, what do you think of yours? I can’t get it to work at all through my effects loop, or straight into a mixer. Works fine into the front of an amp, but it’s noisy…
@@Newnodrogbob never tried in the effects loop. i have it connected into an older fender champ with no effects loop and it sound pretty good, and yes at higher gain it is a tad noisy. im playing a mild overdrive so noise is not an issue. I think its worth the price. ive got overdrive and reverb at that cost its a win.
@@daveesco1 fair enough. Thanks for the info
Cool Vid Man
I would tuck this into my backpack for flight gigs.
Nice. I’d love to see what this is like with a less than $200 guitar.
Finger is hovering over place order but still watching demo.......and bought !
love my Boss GT5 big heavy but everything you want
Seems like a lot of pedal for he money! Sounds great!👍👍
Great review, appreciate finding affordable gear for us working class!! Rock on🤘🤘
You bet!
I have five of those rinky-dink Chinese £20 pedals on a board (usual suspects). This would be so much neater if nothing else. At this price, I'll get one just to try it.
Ta Max.
I have the donner alpha cruncher pedal comes with chorus, delay, and distortion and sounds amazing. this one you are playing sounds great as well the donner only runs $39.99 so a little less but the same concept.
Very nice!
@@GuitarMAXMusic have you ever checked out the donner alpha cruncher? if not then you should I did a review of it on my channel but you have a way bigger channel then mine is. it is a great multi effects pedal. I actually saved tthis one you just reviewed in my amazon cart as well going to pick one up and check it out for myself as well as I love these little set ups like this.
Nice, man. Mooer Red Truck and Tech 21 Fly Rig are also extremely similar. Myself personally, I would have preferred a good Reverb over the Delay (or both would be optimal, obviously). But hey, to each their own! 🤘
Wait, what?!? Did you say $50?!? That's only like 1/4th or 1/5th the price of the two I mentioned!!! Wow!!! 😲
Tip, with the oveedrive off , turn the boost to 12 oclock and you get a clean/overdrive, excelent for blues
Not something I have a use for now, but at that price, as a beginner or someone who wants a super small rig? Awesome.
I literally bought one thinking it will be something cool to give away. I teach high school math, but I play guitar sometimes at school, so kids are always talking to me about guitar. I tend to collect cheap gear to loan out or straight up give to kids who need it…
Sounds like the right pedal for me. Great price.
I met the Ultimate Worrier he was an interesting dude.
Excellent, GM. Being a typical starving musician I bought ammoon's all in one box @ $99. Reverb and Phase control is sweet. Being old now I go for clean. Sorry, bro, Zeppelin doesn't carry it for me anymore. My ears need caressing. Being a violinist my whole life, I've had it with sawtooth waves. 40 feet away the sound is soft. Point blank? "AYE, THERE'S THE RUB!"
Intro had the bark at the moon thing goin on
With the chorus on this thing gave me Quiet Riot vibes!
Delay sounded great. Not sure but Distortion left something tbd. But great vid as always!!
This pedal is a LOT like my Donner Alpha Force...seems to have a little less gain though. Btw...for those looking for an inexpensive but absolutely AMAZING Marshall Plexi or JCM800 sound in an inexpensive pedal check out the Caline English Man. I love it.
I have the black Dolamo distortion pedal and it's a clone of the Englishman, I use it for lower gain Plexi tone with my strat, sounds killer
definitely basically a direct copy of what mooer has been making for a few years now, they have a whole line of these
Throwing some shade at the Peavey Windsor, 😂
Great price and awesome pedal, only thing missing is reverb, but chorus can be used to emulate some reverb tones kinda..LOL..but for the money its a no brainer.
reverb, delay its all the same
Dammit, Max!
Macho Man gonna use that pedal, Oh YEah!!
Next purchase
That is awesome and especially for the $ it seems even better!
If I didn't already have a stupidly complex much more expensive tube pedal board that I finally learned how to use, I'd get one of these.
I have something very similar for bass (Sonic cake BOOM) and love the great sound and simplicity.
Already Like and Subscribed...Thanks 4 Ur Video 😊👍👍
Greetings from Greece
Very useable overdrive, delay and boost… but the chorus leaves a lot to be desired.. it breaks up a bit, regardless of how light you play. This unit definitely sounds warmer when plugged directly into an amp’s effects loop, but I would suggest using an EQ pedal between the Mosky and your amp’s loop. You may also need to use a volume pedal, since the efx loop return has no volume control.. it’s your amp’s output at full volume.
First name macho last name man.. ohhhhh yeah freak out freak out
I have that shirt too!!
sounds great. i bought mine for 20 dollars!
Try the Cuvave Cube baby!
I'd prefer one with an individual output for the chorus & delay to run them through an fx loop. (Tube amp user who likes his preamp section)
Take a look at the Nux Cerberus.
@@ChrisCook813 Just took a look at it, might just give it at try. Was about to whine about using analog distortion, but, heh...
Max jumped on Barringer multi FX pedal , problem been thier use get good quality effects, but can only use one effect at time. I'm new to pedals, 50 years never used, but as time changed hard to play hundred watts full out, needless to say not much playing. Just soft clean, now got pedals Ehx Grand Canyon overload! Even got EBMM Expression Overdrive, EMBB volume/ pan pedal stereo rig, orange crush 35tr, Vox Cambridge 30, plus air tight Jensen 10 Falcon extension cabinet for open back 10 celestial bulldog enables my go from vox tone to punchy Princeton tone same combo to other channel orange also running ehx mel 9
For rhythm
Max, big fan here from the Philippines! Can you also do a review of Cube Sugar/Cube Baby effects pedal?
Mosky makes a few versions of that 3 button multi effects pedals, I almost got one but then the valeton dapper amp mini went on sale and I got that instead, maybe check those out too
Can’t go wrong with a Wrestlemania 6 t shirt with Ultimate Warrior and Macho Man on it
Ou yea wwf. Last warrior🤘
Although it's bad that it's not possible to use it as overdrive / distortion in front of amp and then connect by separate cable to effects loop for modulation.
There are a few good effects pedals that only Amazon carries. I have had better luck with buying "no name" effects than brand name effects (on Amazon).
I checked the price on 1/2/22 and it is now $107.00, still is budget friendly
I'm thinking I could get some Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time tones from this.
The phrase "hard rocking yet budget conscious audience" is almost worth the price of the pedal!
Just a question for anyone who would take the time to answer...If your amp does not have an effects input, then, this pedal would not be a wise choice, correct? (I'm just trying to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the wisdom Max is imparting to us. Just thinking I don't have the correct supporting equipment to use it. I'm so old I left the "Gig" part of me years ago. I just play for enjoyment at home. Thank you for humoring me with my question.) Looks like a great pedal!! Thanks for another great video, Max!!!
You could still plug it into the front of the amp, but try to have the amp set as clean as possible to avoid altering the sound from the pedal.
@@GuitarMAXMusic Thank You, Max. I use a Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120, so I think I can accomplish that. Thank you again not only for your reply, but for the great video!!! (I think your video sold out what Amazon had In-Stock!!! That's speaks very well of you and your efforts to help all of us!!!)
nice demo mate, will this work for Acoustic guitar as well ?
Great review. I've got the RD5 by them which is OD/Boost/Delay/Reverb and it's killer. I would like it to have a footswitch for the boost instead of a toggle, but for $50 hard to complain. Silver Horse is great, too. Also, would like to check out their Tone Bus pedal.
uh god i really want that, just a reverb on it,imma buy that
I just got one, this is the first one I've bought since I got my house broken into and all my gear stolen 😔. BASTARDS! But this is a great start to rebuilding my board
Tech 21 did this with their Flyrig years ago.
....but at $299!
Amazing! How is it so quiet? No noise gate, right?
How do you like that compared to the Donner & Sansamp pedals which are similar?
Could you plug your guitar into your amp and then from your amp effects loop send and return through the input and output on the DC5?
Hi max.. did you used a noise gate with that mosky dc5 ?
Hard to argue against $50
Max reviews a product, gives the amazon link, product immediately sells out. Bezos owes you 💰
Sorry!
You can still get it on eBay and Reverb. May pay a few bucks more.
@@enonknives5449 Thank you. I was referring more to the power of Max's influence. I noticed on several occasions a product being available on Amazon (especially firefly guitars) then Max does a video and the sell out immediately. ✌️
@@ThomasJones-ij6hv -- I understand and agree. I've seen the same effect with some other CZcams personalities.
