Some really nice sounds in that thing…you did a great job demoing them…well done👍
Another great video, Richard! Love visiting your channel. Please: continue.
Man, that thing sounds amazing!
Dear Bald Shredder thanks for this demo. I actually bought one of these pedals. I think it's great for the money and I would definitely use it on gigs, open jams, recording etc. Does not replace my fractal, but when you want to travel light and not have to worry about power cables, etc this is a great piece! Thank you for all your excellent videos!
Great playing !!!
Excellent review!
Yep, looks and sounds good to me. Great review brother. It seems very usable. I can't wait to check it out in the DAW.
Always great review thanks 🙏 you for sharing 😊
Killer demo man!
Hey man just wanted to thank you for the review and demo. I bought one based on this and I am very happy with it. I pretty quickly reworked the presets to one's that I made and I use it more for an fx loop/tone shaper with my Headrush MX5 or my Katana
Man this thing is awsome it made that guitar at times sound like a cool 80s keytar. That for sure is neat. Rock on.
I have such fond memories of my C-64 days, that thing was so incredible for its time.
Not everyone can match their pedal to their guitar, but you pulled if off well.
I think it’s pretty intriguing. It might not do everything you need well, but it seems like a good general purpose tool. I’d certainly keep one in my studio.
Great video thanks
Sounds good Richard!!
Great review Richard. I feel like I prefer number 4 in all of the banks...lol. They seem to have more treble. The price is great, especially with an active coupon in Amazon! Keep on shredding!
you missed out the part where you can load 3rd party IR's. definitely a major selling point for sure
It's Profiler too using "ann software" or M EFCS software
That was a nice breakdown on this modeler / multi-effects unit! I'm sure we would all love to see a follow up to this at some point, where you go over your favorite & custom presets, of course with an ALL NEW JAM just for this video! Or you could try it out on some future guitar reviews and see how it sounds in a mix compared to your trusty POD Farm presets...
Also, I think you could get even better heavy distortion / rhythm sounds out of this thing if you put an overdrive pedal in front of it, since you always have one on according to your POD Farm breakdown video! Or alternatively, you could swap out some of the factory IR's to mess around with some new ones, namely those great free ones from Ola Englund, Resington, & The Other John Browne! I've heard their Impulse Responses sound great not just for Metal, but for Rock and clean tones as well!
Anyways, keep on rocking Bald Shredder! \m/
Looks very versatile and easy to use great demo. Commodore. A better bargain than many...
Update: (after watching the entire video)
Hey nice color coordination on your axe and the box!
Definitely 8-4 is your tone.....awesome video and superb shredding, as usual Mr. James....thank you....The Bald Shredder Strikes Again!
9.3 that's the tone for me! ❤
That pedal sounds badass
The 8:00 mark saved the whole video. Not bad for $60 for a beginner.
I find most presets on amps I've owned are heavily distorted or unusable for one reason or another. Many of those are something I would use. Only $80 bucks? I must assimilate one. Thanks man, you shred.
you can load am2 files to edit the amps, i have JCM 800, Driftwood Darkest Nightmare, EVH 5150, Dual Rectifier, Dual Rectifier + TS808, Fender Twin and a Peavey 5150, and in IR i had a bunch and i love it
@@errorsofnovember6068 where did you get those am2 files? do you have a link?
"Does this have everything that I need" while shaking his head 🤣
Body language never lies
holy crap. a few years ago I bought a PodGo just to have all that stuff in one place. And now this is out for $80.
Geez, to be young again with all this technology.
Might even make metal dude sound great.
But is it burrito proof? 😂
Metal Dude says he doesn't need it.
Yes I have watched Dave. And even cooler than Dave is that Bald Shredder dude! But even cooler than that is that I am #8 on the like list today! Now that’s cool buddy!
great video btw
Thanks bro for the review ! ! From one nipple head to another, your doin' us proud ! ! HAAAAAAAAA !
What I like most about this is the user accessibility and ease of controlling your own sound. The fact that you can change the pre-sets to whatever you want is brilliant and they're movable. Professional sounding pre-sets. This pedal seems to have the best pre-sets from a much more expensive unit - Fractal, which I can't afford, but because of this, I mi9mic the settings on the pre-sets to and board effects setup and blitz on to oblivion.
You forgot the part that you can even create your own profiles or load 3rd party ones as presets. Plus the Bluetooth playback and the unit being an audio interface too. :P
This is very affordable and sounds great. It's even cheaper then the EVH 5150 standard I'm wanting. 🤔
I have a Wolfgang Standard. Not my most expensive guitar in the collection but definitely in the top 5. It's a perfect guitar.
Nice playing. This pedal reminds me of the Flyrig ones. But I prefer one with an expression pedal. I used an old Digitech multi effects and amp modeling pedal for years. Then I switched to Zoom. My latest is a Mooer GE150, great pedal with 55 amp sim's 26 cab sim's and 6 mic's to choose from. The mic's placement is also adjustable. But the most important thing for me is the expression pedal that can control volume, gain, modulation speeds, and Wah. You should check one out. 😁
Nice choice of guitar and color.
enjoyed and sub'd!
Nice matching the guitar color to the Tank-G. Yep. I saw what you did there.
Purple power!
Sounds really good would like to get one because it has a rechargeable battery. Great guitar playing as well on distortion setting.
this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting, good color
C'est Formidable! Oui Oui! 💜
As a fellow bald shredder i subbed just for the name lol. I stayed for the cool demo. Not my thing but it is really a good product for the price or as a cheaper alternative to Fly Rigs. I had the Paul Landers one and sold it, preferring my pedalboard and Headrush still as its not heavy. Playing a little Ratt and Heart? ...nice playing.
Thanks
I’m a beginner and I think I’m going to have to invest in one of these…🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Cool unit.
Damn dude you're an AWESOME guitarist oh yea the pedal, it's ok
I bought a effects pedal on AliExpress and it was only 20 dollars and it had at least ten different multi effects i couldn't believe it was amazing even had a looper mode. And it was small like could fit in your front pocket.
I have tried out many multi fx pedals over the years. But always go back to my 30 year old zoom 4040. It has two assignable pedals. One pedal is used for volume, I like making a solo sound like a violin. The second pedal controls how much I want to increase the assigned effect. I’ve programmed the sounds and only use four settings. 1 is clean, 2 is clean with echo, 3 is distortion and 4 Is distortion with echo. The pedal is so old, still go for £140 on eBay. So I bought a second one as back up.
Great job! Does it have shimmer reverb?
also You could load your own IR cabs there and its a profiler, you can profile you favorite overdrives if you dont like the stock presets, for 80$ its really not that bad,
You will still need an amplifier to play this through a speaker as it doesn’t have a power amp in it sadly.
I have an Orange Terror Stamp amp-in-pedal-form-factor and it’s cool.
If they put a power amp and pre-amp (even solid state) it would be rad
Unfortunately it's only in mono and has some background hiss (even with the noise gate on), which left me a bit underwhelmed with mine. I bought the Line 6 pod express though and have been very happy with it, even though it's a bit more expensive. I enjoy your videos!
I have the Mvave Tank G, and now you also make captures of pedals and Guitar plugins with a software provided, don't know if Playwell has this feature too
I like It.
I was thinking this would cost about $120.
So while I was considering buying one while watching the video, I’m getting ready to get one right now
It can load amp captures profiles now. From ANN or NAM
Is this best used with a head and cabinet or through a flat response speaker?
I've been thinking about getting one of these. Though I've been playing electric and acoustic for over 50 years, I have zero experience with tech devices like these or even pedals, so I hope to learn a bit here. Maybe at lease enough to tell if I need one of these or not.
And btw, I"VE UPGRADED TO A C-128.Yeah, take that dude.....OPEN 1, 1, 0, "FILENAME" LOL!
but I would not go for an Amiga A600...NO WAY!
And can you point me to or show all the versions of OUTPUT?? Do I need an amp? Headphones directly from this? directly into my computer to listen from computer speakers? Thank you!
I am curious if any of the presets sound okay for an acoustic/electric.
I have seen a couple of these videos and everyone (Studio Rats) seem pretty happy with it but I looked at reviews on the sale page and people were saying the actual effects were very basic. Were you happy with the effects sound wise or do you think it is just a very good entry level effects unit?
Wish some of this stuff was around when I was a kid.
Can you please show us how to connect it to an amp? And can you hook it up to a Pod go?
That color looks better than my cuvave tank g
Wow Richard this is such an awesome pedal review I love it. Shred on dude.😃👍❤️🔥⚡️🎶🎸
How would it sound for vocals if you plugged a mike in?
thank you bald Shredder for this effects pedal i love pedals like these i’m goin to get it first chance i get
have you had a chance to try out the donner alpha force pedal has delay chorus and high gain i love this pedal check it out
If you hook it up to a computer can you change the order of the presets? If i liked one on bank 8, bank 5 and bank3 can i move then all to bank 1 for quick switching during songs? Or do i have to just do my own settings that way only
does it function as an audio interface as well
That’s a great demonstration, and I thought the pedal sounded super for $80! Thanks for the demo BS.
What daw do you use with your commodore 64 ?
Did you see the video from “Riffs & Rig” about the “M-Vave” version of the Tank-G ?
They show how the latter rig can set your house on fire …
I think this is the same rig, just branded differently and different colour of ofcourse..
Also he pointed toward Ehrosmith's vid on an easy fix. Not sure why you mentioned the former but not the latter.
@@1980JPA you do not want to buy a rig witch you have to open up to make sure that it is save, i think, but if you already have it, this vid shows what you can do about it, if you know how to..
@@cvanhetkaar96 you are absolutely correct. Just out of not wanting to freak out someone that already owned it and read the words "set your house on fire" I would have just mentioned that there was a fairly simple fix.
I do agree that most would not want to buy it knowing they have to fix it besides some tinkerers and DIYers. I happen to be one of those weirdos, lol.
the playwell works with the mvave software? firmware and apps?
I ordered one after seeing a CZcams video of the Studio Rats testing it out. I was really excited to try it once it arrived, but the sound quality wasn't there. I also had a problem running it through the power amp input jack on my amp - it had a strange level issue where if it was too much signal the volume decreased. It could've been a really cool handy thing to have, but for me at least, the sound quality was way lacking compared to the regular gain from my amp. Returned it the next day for an amazon credit.
Well you gave it a shot!
@@thebaldshredder I also tried and returned the Line 6 Pod express - same issue with the unit not sounding nearly as good as just plugging into an amp. Oh well... guess I'm an amp guy. LOL
Worth noting that in the case of the Studio Rats video, he had loaded his own IRs onto the unit (Ownhammer V30 4x12 according to the video comments, though I don’t know which specific one). From everything I see/read on this unit, better quality IRs really wake these up. I just got mine, and haven’t had a chance yet to load any 3rd party IRs yet. I agree that the stock IRs could definitely be improved upon.
Do you know if you can use the tank-b bass effects pedal equivalent as a guitar effects pedal, as I have been bought one by mistake and was wondering whether it was worth keeping it? Hoping that you can help, many thanks Trev
I'm sure you can, but I don't know what it will sound like.
Hi Shedder Can't find the 15% discount can you tell me where I can find it please. Great video 😊
The coupon appears to be gone now.
you still need a Power Amp to run it into guitar cabs right? so how is it replacing an amp? It's just a Pre Amp really
Do you trust the tuner (M-VAVE) Was Tank -G?
I will pull the trigger on this. I need a go-to unit to not carry all the irons with me
I remember Barney the Purple Dinosaur using one. So if it’s good enough for Barney, it’s good enough for me! 🎸🤣
can i plug bass in g model or should i buy exactly bass model?
it can capture pedal/amps too like a kemper
would be perfect if there is send return jack ports
Does it do pitch-shifting in half-step intervals?
Is there any read out or manual that tells each Preset?
Does this work on battery power only like the cube baby?
I've got so many multi effects pedals I just can't buy another one but I just might that's cool it sounds good too is there right and left out is anything stereo can't believe how cheap that is I'm so glad I'm not married. I can buy a new toy whenever I want
Hello
Can a Wah pedal be added to this?
should i get this or a zoom g3?
The only hustle is you need to tap the two buttons at the same time to change the patch. Not good for me. But it sounds good..
Would this be too much overkill if you’re already using a Boss Katana amp. I’m just getting into playing again after decades away. #startingover
You probably don't need this if you have a Boss Katana.
The cable management alone might be worth it for some.
It really is, paired with wireless system no more cables and adapters on the ground, and the best part no more angry wife
Kinda sounds like my old Zoom 1010 from the mid 90s.
That 15% coupon must have been a short term deal cause I can’t find it anywhere for less than $80
What happened to the Helix you won? Ever use it or did you sell it?
Sold it
SOLD!!! How Awesome is this??? *May have to sell my Macintosh SE with StyleWriter printer. 🤣🤣🤣
The world needs more purple pedals!
They're green now.
I wish there would have been cheap do-it-all guitar gear which is common now back in the 70s.
it's to bad they have you do the double switch to Bank up and down, maybe just a long press on "D" for Down "A" for Up ? or even a switch output on both sides to add a switch.
👍👍
Nice review and demo but does it get the”Bald Shredder Seal of Approval “? Just asking for a friend.
For people that want a physical, all in one pedal, sure!
@@thebaldshredder I just purchased it and I rewatched your video. After buying the pedal, I can better appreciate the demonstration and explanation that you gave with the operation of the pedal and the features. Well done!
If you can adjust them via PC that would be cool. Great practice rig. I don't hate it lol.
You could adjust them via bluetooth on your phone, its a really nice pedal with minimal footprint
@@overcast2018 perfect, gonna grab one .
I don't have a purple guitar. Will it work with my green Fender?
Nope 😁
