Without people like Internet Historian to present and archive these types of incidents, people born after 20 years would never believe this s--t. Even I have a hard time believing this type of behavior is being normalized.
I think that both the greatest and most torturous existence would be being forced to examine media highlights that came out at the time, and then comparing them to what's in the history books each generation on.
If you had a time machine for explicitly that reason as well as being immortal, imagine creating an entire accurate archive of history that includes how terribly people recorded it, as well as how those inaccuracies affected people in the future. That would be amazing and helpful as hell, but also entirely soul crushing to see how bad people are at knowing what happens in their own world.
