  • When installing aftermarket fenders on your JL Wrangler, you may get the Turn Signal Lights Out error message on your dash as well as the hyper flashing turn signals. This may happen after installing aftermarket fenders. Here are the links below for the bluetooth scan tool and the necessary cable needed for your JL Wrangler or your JT Gladiator. You will also need the Jscan app on your cell phone. It will cost about $20 to activate the Jscan app for your vin number. Please use caution before doing this project. We are not affiliated with any of the products mentioned in the video and use at your own risk. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions in the comment box.
    UPDATE: This video will work properly with some fenders. But other fenders will require additional steps. If the video does not work then try this. Follow the same process outlined in the video. If it does not work, go back to the Jscan app and ACTIVATE the front turn lamps using the same procedure as the video. After that, we will need to clear the error codes in the body control module. Go to the LED LIGHTS SETTINGS page, the first option is to Restart all ecus. Click that. Then scroll down and select Body Control Module. You will see the dash quickly restart. Then turn the power off to the vehicle, open and close the door and wait for the vehicle to go to sleep. (Takes about 30 seconds for the dash to go dark). After the vehicle has gone to sleep, go ahead and restart the vehicle and hopefully the error messages are now gone. I have done this about 50 times and have been successful every time so far with the following brands. Fabtech, Westin, Rugged Ridge and Bushwacker. I hope this helps.

    Awesome. You really hit the nail on the head. You did not assume prior knowledge when addressing the audience. You took everyone by the hand to do this diy.

    Thank you, i did not buy new fenders, just after market led sequential turn lights, with DRLs and another set of sequential led turn lights for the fenders. I tried resistors and thqy quit working except for the drls. I took the resistors off and they do work except fir the annoying hyper flash after I went in with the odm i lost the turn signals so now everything is back to where i started lol

    Hi there, excellent video. Couple of questions thou, do we need to download the app and pair it with the vehicle before doing anything else? Thank you!!

    • @BlackstarOffroadFullerton
      @BlackstarOffroadFullerton  Před rokem

      You will need to download the app first. Then plug the device into the obd port. At that point, you will pair the device with your phone via bluetooth. Fairly simple process. Good Luck!

    purchased and installed on 2022 JL 2D Rubicon. did not work as this video shows. problem still persists. Spent a few hours to disconnect the cables (several bandaids later on right hand to get in to disconnect), plugged in the 12pin & 8pin dongle to ODB Link. ODB would not power on using the dongle. had to reinstall back to factory placement. Installed ODB Link MX+ to the factory ODB connector and did power on. spent the $21 to get vin. went through the setup to deactivate, all the way to "says successul", gracefully backed out to the home screen. tried several variations, but the JL still throws error of front lights not on. sporadic turn signal blinking continues. All in all a frustrating experience. $ wasted, time wasted and hand all cut up.

    Hi, was wondering if this same procedure would work with Oracle bi led switchback headlights? Everything working great, but hyperflash error shows up when I use the blinkers. Seems to reset after shutting off the jeep, only to give the code again next time I drive it. Thanks!!

    I have a 2019 JL with the halogen package, I was able to successfully upgrade the headlight and fenders to LED without any errors from the dash. I just now decided to upgrade the taillight to LED but getting the dash error on both sides when my turn signal lights are in use. Will this be the tool to address my issues? I just will like to know before I make a purchase.

      @TwoFeatherChannel Před 2 lety

      @willo Sandaya that's because the Jeep CPU isn't programmed to look for LED when you don't have the factory LED package.
      I have the factory LED package with my JLUR and changed the rear tail lights to Oracle LED Flush Mount and the CPU is looking for factory LED, so I got the warning on the dash

      @@christiandavidpicadofallas9754 Here is what I would try. First I would go back into the LED light settings and change them back to Active. Probably won't fix it but try it. If it doesn't fix it, go back in and switch back to inactive. There are so many different led lights that we need to try both ways. Secondly, after changing the LED settings, go to adaptations, LED Light Settings, iRestart, then Body Controller - Power on restart. Then turn the key off and shut the doors until the Jeep falls asleep. After a couple minutes, turn the Jeep on and give it a try. Hope this helps!

      I saw your video. I see that you went from a factory LED to an aftermarket LED. I am assuming that your harness was plug and play so I am surprised that your having an issue. I would call the manufacturer and talk to technical support. My gut tells me that something is not wired up correctly possibly within the turn signals and daytime running lights.

    Found the bluetooth device but what exactly is that cable?

    • @BlackstarOffroadFullerton
      @BlackstarOffroadFullerton  Před rokem +1

      The cable is needed to bypass the security gateway. This is not needed on older Jeeps but the 2018 and newer Jeeps require it.

      Hi George. Please read the updates to the paragraph below my video. Some fenders are fixed the way I showed in the video and some require another method. The second method required "activating" the LED and then clearing the fault codes stored within the body control module. Hope it helps. Please reply with the brand of fenders that you are installing.
