@@YodaSmokes Who cares about that? Let's give Popovich or Spoelstra the COY award because they are the best coaches regardless of how their team performs, right? Seriously your comment is pointless here.
Al Horford is gonna come up big time in the playoffs per usual. I am a huge fan of his and how he’s been so consistently dominant at covering bigs. He truly is such an unsung hero.
The Porzingis deal is the one where they committed highway robbery imo. Smart’s defensive impact was offset by his offensive limitations and they somehow swapped Smart for Porzingis AND a first round pick somehow with Porzingis having a career resurgence last year and being a fantastic floor spacer on a team that’s never had an elite floor spacer
I thought it was robbery at the time. People was stuck on porzingas injury history tho. Years ago i thought porzingas would be the perfect big to compliment the jays. His early knick days(i just never thought hed be available.) This was when he was getting propped up with Embid & AD, they need a big whose a scoring threat and shooting option. Porzingas effectively neutralizes most of the way teams have guarded the jays. Tatum and brown' biggest weakness to varying degrees(tatum is way ahead of JB here. But he has lapses still) is reading defensive coverages, when they are intiaiting plays. Porzingas simplifies everything for them. As an outlet, when theyre doubled. In the PNR Hes dangerous as a roller and popping out. I still cant believe there were celtics fans crying about losing Marcus "The thrower of bricks" Smart.
When the trade happened, i saw people crying about how boston built a "super team" for cheap, as if any other team couldnt scoop up Porzingus or Jrue for themselves💀. I really wonder what their trade market value was from other teams perspective

@@byranttaylor1535 With GM Jordan gone, nobody was going to offer anything significantly higher or longer. The Celtics extension is basically his market value. The risk of losing Porgie for the entire extension is one the Celtics can take, because they have enough picks & assets to get the Blazers, Pistons, or 2025 Warriors to take on his contract dump.
@cjwrench07 u dnt know that cause utah wanted him, Danny said he would've paid him, and an extension could've been a 4 year instead of a two we gave him
I used to have seriously problems with his game as a Celtics fan, but Payton Pritchard along with Luke kornet stepping up off the bench this year has been an incredibly underrated factor.
The Crypto Scammer, the Kondor, and Slam Hauser have each taken such enormous leaps in their game (especially since Slam Hauser is the BEST DUNKER IN THE ASSOCIATION). A joy to watch.
I honestly think Pritchard way the reason they were comfortable trading Smart in the first place. Either he was going to start or they would have gone big with White at the point and Rob and KP starting together and Pritchard as the 6th man. I think Brogden was gone either way. I don't think Jrue was ever really in their plans, but they couldn't pass up on that opportunity once it was there.
I hope they stay healthy and win it all this year. If all 5 of the starters have an off night then it's a close game, probably a loss. If they have an average night, it's an interesting win. If 2-3 have a good scoring night then it's not even close. That's why today I don't see any team beating the Celtics in a 7 game series.
I think that if the bucks could take a mulligan on one move this year, it'd be firing Bud. They were desperate for some kind of reset and got rattled, but if they'd known they'd be able to pick up an all-nba talent and that Adrian Griffin wasn't wasn't going to work out they'd probably have settled for getting Dame. I get that a first round exit is really awful for a team that wants to win another title, but it kind of feels like the front office has been mashing the panic button ever since.
everyone ALSO overlooks that one of Bud's brothers literally died before game 4 of the miami series WHILE Giannis was hurt. just such a lack of awareness on the bucks' organizations part like, come on ya'll...

@ZZZ-pu4yw In Milwaukee, he was number the 2 or 3 option. In Boston he's arguably the 5th option for offense. That's a huge difference all Boston needs him to do is play defense and hit open shots. He had to do more in Milwaukee than he does here.
As a Celtics fan when we got Jrue there was no one who beats us in 7. The health wasn’t really a concern because we can coast KP can sit when we need him. Jrue is more efficient then smart and with the emergence of White we can cook any team wether or not Joe is a good coach. KP is the zone buster for Miami and Milwaukee low key ass and Phillys hurt.
Joe is a good coach. I don’t understand this narrative. People who actually know ball respect him as a basketball nerd and a student of the game. He’s not perfect but no one is. His team is #1 in offense and #2 in defense that’s not by accident
@@Toucansam46 Yeah. It is because he has the best top 6 both sides of the floor players in the roster by a significant margin (only Denver has a similar construction)
@@Edd-zd5wb yeah cause Giannis and Dame has worked out so well so far definitely had absolutely nothing to do with coaching. You’re a fool. None of that is in spite of Joe you literally just don’t know ball
Everyone talking about “win or bust” just so they can say something negative about this team. We can’t just appreciate what they’re doing we have to spin it into a negative conversation about how they’re chokers if they lose. Why can’t we ever talk about this team without a “but”
Is it not win or bust? You can take that as a “negative” if you want, but it’s just true. The 2nd apron is coming, and when it does, this team will have basically no wiggle room. They have a great shot at a title, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re all in.
This reminds me a lot of the 85-86 season. Coming off a shocking Finals loss to the Lakers, Boston knew they would still be major contenders in the 86 season, if they just stood pat. But, they went out and got Bill Walton, and made an already great team, into possibly the greatest single season team of all-time. I have been a Celtics fan my whole life, and the only other time I was as confident as I am right now, about winning the NBA Title, was that 86 season, going 50-1 at home, along the way. Even in 2008, with the arrival of Garnett, Allen, Posey, and House, and being far in front of everyone, all season, I wasn't nearly as confident because we had an unproven point-guard (Rajon Rondo), and an all-time oaf at center, Kendrick Perkins. (The Man With The Hands of Stone). Sorry Roberto Duran. This year, there are no such weaknesses. The bench was supposed to be our weakness, but before the deadline, Hauser, Pritchard, Horford and Kornet, were all playing their parts well. Now, with Xavier Tillman and Jaden Springer, the bench is even better.
I think on only felt more confident than before 85-86 this was for two days in June of 1986. After winning the 86 championship, the Celtics drafted number two overall and selected Len Bias, a player many projected to be better than Jordan. Len Bias died two days after being selected. In 87, Walton turned back into a pumpkin with glass ankles rather than glass slippers - then it was 22 years of decline and mediocracy. What a crazy turn of events.
@@markhousman8447 Then the double whammy, Reggie Lewis dying. Imagine the unlucky part of Bias dying, then the very next draft, getting Reggie, who was probably 85% of what Bias would've been, then he dies too. At least we got some good years out of him, though. As far as Bill Walton, my opinion has always been, that he got his much wanted championship in his first season as a Celtic, then milked it, after that. I saw a video recently, where Larry Bird even said, "Bill was healthy when Bill wanted to be healthy". I'll tell you one thing, in the 86-87 season that hurt us just as much as Walton not playing, and maybe even more, that nobody EVER talks about. Scott Wedman went down for the season, just a few games into that season. He was an extremely valuable piece off the bench, being able to play either forward position, and even some 2 guard if necessary. So instead of Walton coming in for Parish, it was Greg Kite, who was pathetic, and when Bird or McHale came out, instead of Wedman coming in, in was the all-time dork, Fred Roberts. The only reliable sub that was still there from the unstoppable 86 squad, was Jerry Sichting. KC Jones should've played Darren Daye much more than Fred Roberts. Daye was actually pretty good, but rarely got the playing time.
40-1 at home... or the math don't add up. this season should be another hot home court record (38-3..??). 8 games to go, only three 500+ teams visiting Boston... the toughest is arguably this wednesday vs the Bucks.
@@felipeb.9321 Hello, Yes, 40-1 in the regular season, the only loss in December of 85 to Portland, which wound up being the worst loss of the season. I think it was 18-19 points. But, they were 10-0 at home in the playoffs, so that's where the 50-1 comes from. If the Laker fans are going to count those titles won in Minneapolis, then I'm counting the 10 home playoff wins! As far as this season, they have been remarkable at home, something that has literally cost them the NBA Championship the last two seasons, because they struggled so mightily at home. It was something that ate my guts away. So this season, has been a dream at home. Two of the losses at home this year were absolutely unforgivable, though. I will tell you, that every single fan who attended the Clippers game in TD Garden, should have received a full refund for that game, with Boston being down by close to 50 at one point, and came in totally unprepared to play. Then losing to the Lakers, without LeRoid James, and Anthony Davis, is probably the most humiliating loss in franchise history. But, it looks as though they've rebounded rather nicely from those horrible losses. Yes, 38-3 would be nice, but they might let up off the gas, being so far ahead, for the best record.

Not true. I used to say this in real time. Smart is literally the reason the celtics lost to any high level basketball team. In the 4th quarter, leave smart wide open. Hes going to shoot it or drive and turn it over because hes going to be trying to prove something. But use his man to double team either tatum or brown. The heat and the warriors basically ran the same play book on defense. Play physical with the jays. Stay close to horford so hes not wide open. Doube off of smart. Watch him implode. Smart is a tough bastard. And i wont ever say he didnt play his heart out. But he was out of control way too often. I dont think its a surprise how much calmer the team plays. He was an extremely bipolar player and alot of antics got in the way of the team. His blood feud with the refs. All the flopping and falling amd rolling around. His endless three point barrage while also being the worst shooter on the team and one of the worst shooters of all time.
@@zakking4983 Doesnt matter. Watch his playoffs numbers. He shots 45% from three when it doesnt matter and as soon as it does and defense increases hes literally Marcus Smart
Celtics fans might not want to admit that, but from the outside, his offensive decision making was clearly costing them games and was so bad that I don’t know if the defense he was bringing to the table was actually worth it. The grizz trade still doesn’t make sense to me, only explanation I have was the GM never watched the Celtics and just heard about smart getting a DPOY so he pulled the trigger on the trade.
To all my Celtics fans, just a quick question--if we were to win the NBA Finals this year, would it be fair to say that a small but important contribution to this team's success was the spirit of Marcus Smart? Like yea, I know Smart drove us to extreme emotions of love and anger throughout his tenure, but b/c his value was high enough for us trade for KP (+ picks), it seems like the defensive intensity is always present at moments throughout the games, and throughout the season--like he never really left. Am I bugging or nah?
When Beal became available my immediate thought was “well where is porzingis going?” Because KP has ALWAYS been the missing piece. And then getting Jrue was just the icing on top of the cake. Still can’t believe bucks fans were saying Giannis>Tatum Dame>Brown Khris>KP 😂😂😂😂
I'm a Celtics fan but I would still take Giannis over Tatum. Dame vs. Brown is a toss up because Brown is bigger and has more offensive versatility and plays way better defense but Dame is Dame. I am taking KP over Khris hands down though. Then you have Jrue and White who are indisputably the best 4th and 5th options on any team right now.
I love how Jaylen has become so much more confident and aggressive with his takes the hoop. So many more dunks from everybody but I see him yam a couple every game now
As a Celtics fan, I still can't believe we got Jrue. DWhite and Jrue (collectively as the Stock Exchange) are the best defensive backcourt in the league.
Milwaukee would've been fine had they kept the original head coach this year or at least replaced him with literally any experienced coach NOT named Doc Rivers, that was what really hurt their chances this year
Prob with bucks is giannis he a point forward the reason it worked with Drew was because he wasn't brought in to score heavy points so he didn't need the ball all the time but dame yea it's not really the coach it's your superstar almost like he gotta change his game
@@byranttaylor1535 except not every team is : making 50% from 3 on a regular basis; at least 6 games ahead of every other team; 1st or 2nd offensive and defensive rating; 1st in win record against 500+ teams; breaking the NBA's offensive rating record; etc., etc., etc., because if they were, that team would be already in the playoffs a month before the end of the regular season. so that claim that you think is "funny" is backed up by 66 games of facts and winning.
I think the Nuggets are a lower-variance team, due to less injury risk and more assisted shots at the rim. Even on difficult shots, I'll take an awkward Jokic floater over a contested Brown mid-range fallaway any day.
This team is perfect for Porzingis, he doesn't have to do too much risky shit because he's tall and agile, he can do his thing and be a big body as a secondary defender, it's perfect.
There were Celtics fans that were mad when the Celtics traded Smart for Porzingis. They were mad about trading a 6’3” guard who was a great defender but a liability offensively for a 7 footer that could shoot and defend in the post 😂
Health is the main thing as you said, although I’d probably limit that down to KPs health. As for 3’s? Sure, but keep in mind that even if one or two players are having an off night, then there’s still more than enough others that can keep firing. The entire starting 5 can drop 3’s on a whim, then you still have Hauser and Pritchard coming off the bench. In saying all of that, both Holiday, Horford, KP, and Brown all did a great job posting up vs the Knick’s yesterday. But the team is way, way more than just the two big trades. They’ve had a bunch of players who have really, really stepped up. First and foremost is obviously DWhite. The dude is playing out of his mind and I reckon has to be a contender for MIP (although he played pretty well last year, so the step up probably isn’t big enough for MIP). Hauser and Pritchard again are brilliant off the bench. Luke Kornet, although obviously not at the same level as KP has filled his role perfectly. And backing up all of that has been Al Horford who can do pretty much anything you ask of him, bring a beautiful, calm presence to the locker room, and is one of the true unsung heroes of this team.
As much as I love holiday I think KP is more important for us. He fills our biggest weakness which was a good defender against the elite big men (Giannis, embiid, jokic) and gives us the versatility on both sides of the ball to be a matchup nightmare and open up the paint if the defense chooses to put a big on him. If they have a smaller player switch on him he can basically have any three uncontested. White and holiday have been playing out of their fkn minds tho their offense is like poetry in motion
Celtics offseason was perfect for me. All last year I was saying how Dwhite needed a bigger role and was being held back. Getting Porzingis and 2 first was a steal and it opened up Dwhites new role. Getting Jrue to pair with Dwhite was just the icing on the cake because Jrue fills smarts role and doesn't force anything. Jrue is shooting lights out from 3 in the corners and he can finish off the dribble drive.
GREAT discussion! Tatum and Freak are tied 2 and 2 in playoff series so i CANT WAIT for the tiebreaker this year! Sam Cassell GREAT acquisition! WHOA! Mike Wilbon's current Bos squad to '86 Celtics comparison is WILD! and Three 50-point blowouts already is BANANAS! but it is ALL about playoffs!! LE'GO!!!!
Celtics have gone 12-2 since this video with both losses coming by a total of 7 points and every win but 1 being double digits while resting a revolving door of starters basically every night for the past 2 weeks. With only two more games against top tier opponents (vs OKC on April 3rd and @ MIL on the 9th) and no more back-to-backs do the Celtics close out the season 9-2 and go 66-16? It'll be interesting to see Joe mixing and mashing these line ups the next 3 weeks as we wrap up the NBA season to try to keep everyone fresh and healthy for the post season. And like you said, if the shots are falling, this is a team that is not easy to beat.
There had to be some under the table deals here. How Celtics were able to trade a regressing asset in Smart for Kristaps who was fresh off a career year averaging 23/8/3 and 2 FIRST ROUND PICKS makes no logical sense. Not to mention the Jrue deal. Something looks so sketchy here
Sorry but had to stop at 5:50 because it was just like the 10th time repeating the same 2 points over and over again. This is a 2 minute video of an opinion without much behind it. Which is fine, but most people would be more impressed with the KP trade or Derrick White's contributions this year than Holiday's.
Youre acting like Boston gave up a bunch of bums for Jrue. They gave up significant rotation pieces in Rob Williams and the reigning 6MOY in Brogdon not to mention that pick too.
When Dame was traded to Milwaukie it became a 3 team race with Boston and Philly. You can argue which team was better. But after the Holiday trade and the way he and Porzingis have fit, it is clear which team is better.
Really this all started with gordon hayward. His injury led to the priority of brown and tatum leading to him leaving which gave boston a huge trade exception which they have used beautifully. I think they are one good bench wing away for being a perfect team
I think KP is the 🗝️. He used to first or second option. Now is used third or fourth. Where he does work so hard and doesn't get hurt. Plus Holiday is so underrated smart player.
Celtics biggest issues last season was a log jam at guard and the Frontcourts ability to score. Horford is still excellent but was asked to do too much and play too many minutes for his age. Smart was still a really solid player but Dwhite was clearly out playing him but Smart made it impossible for Joe to go with the hot hand and Dwhite would end up on the bench a majority of the time in crunch time minutes which was absurd. Dwhite and Brodgon would have still been an excellent backcourt but when Jrue became available it was just a no brainer. Jrue knows what it takes to win it all and can accept his limited roles. Porzingis makes other teams pay for doubling Tatum and Brown and allows the Celtics to hunt mis matches because all 5 players on the floor can score from anywhere.
They got Holiday and KP for peanuts. They were able to construct this team because they took advantage of a bunch of stupid GMs whose franchises are sucking. I still can't believe Cronin has a job.
Nailed it. Jrue is the key to the championship. Everything else needs to be in place just to get there but having Jrue is the difference between getting there and winning it all. Again, take away anyone else and Celtics don't even get to the championship but Jrue gets them over the hump.
People get traded to rivals of their original team. Roger Clemens left the Red Sox to go to Toronto, then got traded to the Yankees. I remember that one and I'm sure there were others. The Yankees also do what the Celtics used to do in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, and that is getting a big star for nothing. The Celtics once traded rookie Darren Tillis to Cleveland for al.-star Scott Wedman and they traded Joe Barry Carroll for Robert Parrish and a first round pick (Kevin McHale) as well as traded Rick Robey to Phoenix for Dennis Johnson. It all came back to bite them. When Reggie Lewis passed away, they asked the league if they could give his widow the money remaining on his contract so they could free up cap space to get another player of some value. That request was denied.
The crazier thing is, the players they traded are all injured and the players Celtics acquired are relatively healthy. Winning has affected it I’m sure but still
So many Celtics fans were crying when we traded smart, but I was actually extremely happy because yes I loved him, but he gave us all of his prime years so it was a smart, business choice. To bring in a motivated Porzingis, who still wants to prove to the league why he is the unicorn. Injuries were behind him and we are getting him at his absolute prime. Milwaukee made a stupid decision getting rid of holiday. I would rather have holiday than Damian Lillard. Yeah, Lillard might score 7 points more, but might get those certain steals during a game that you need and still put up 25 points.
Celtics are the Dodgers of the NBA. They win a lot in the regular season, drafted great players, consistently getting other great players thru trades or free agency but never winning a title. For years we’ve been hearing the Celtics are gonna win the title but every year they fall short. Don’t care for any Celtics hype until they win a title.
IF the Celtics make their 3’s; that’s so true 🤦♂️😭 it’s funny cause when Tatum misses 3’s it just looks way worse cause his shot is so dam ugly 😂 it’s like he’s being electrocuted from his legs up to his arms. Holiday was a great addition for Celtics. However it took a bit-it wasn’t an immediate game changer. Portzingus was the best possible trade / Marcus smart was a cancer imo. Celtics have a talented deep bench- the role players stepping up this year such as Derek white- he’s been an absolute beast. Prichard and Hauser are true sharp shooters-they got a monster in Kornet contesting every shot 😂 the Celtics 2nd team is better than most starting lineups.
Rob Will was significant, but couldn’t be relied on because of injuries. Brogdon was really disappointing in the playoffs, although he ended up getting an injury, he was underwhelming come playoffs. Compared to the impact a guy like Jrue has they were not significant.
@@Edd-zd5wb how the bucks win that ring??? Ain’t it Jrue steal leading to giannis open court dunk??? Jrue doesn’t suck in the playoffs. The bucks needed him to be a 3rd scorer because kris is so injury prone. Jrue is what, the 5th scorer on this team? Lmao your take SUCKS

I don't think Jrue Holiday is what changed the celtics, its KP who is a rim defender + 3p shooter. Once they had that it was game over. Jrue is just cherry on top
The Jrue trade might be the least lopsided of the 6 that got them their top 6: - KG and Pierce for Jaylen - Fultz for Tatum - Kemba Walker for Al - FRP for White - Smart for Porzingis AND 2FRP)
the celtics are now the only team on par with denver, but they gotta beat denver to be considered the best team in the league. that would be a sick finals though
this reminds me somewhat of the Warriors when they got KD. JD ain’t KD but it’s just a perfectly put together team that drafted, traded and signed their way into success. they didn’t do what the Nets or Clippers did and just buy a team
Brad improve this bench better than they I've seen in recent years, I think they have what it takes to go far and make it back to finals the biggest thing difference in this team is they are protected the ball and not committing Turnover and they re winning games they shouldn't lose compared to last year they would lose games they should win.
Honestly swapping Richardson, Brogdon, Smart, and Williams for D. White, KP, and Jrue inside a 2.5 year span shouid be studied by future GMs in the league. I loved Smart as much as any other Celtic fan but when it comes to Jrue over him.... the ending of Game 5 against the Bucks 2 years ago lived rent free in my head way too loudly. Jrue outplaying Smart in that game is literally the whole reason they won and the only reason it went to game 7. If memory serves right he had a bucket, a block, and a forced turnover on Smart all within the last 90 seconds. Glad Milwaukee was dumb enough to let him go.
Yup. Most teams seriously think about not adding players they're trading away to contenders in their own conference precisely for this reason. The idea is always to move their star they're trading away to the other conference. Only this time he accidentally boomeranged back around. Maybe they should have made sure he went to a contender in the West to reduce that likelihood. They knew Portland would turnaround and trade him, and the teams looking to get him would be contenders in the East. We can't second guess too much, though, because it seems like there really was nowhere to send him.
First off , I thought the video was fair . As a Bucks fan of course it would have been best for him to go to a Western team playing for rings , That said Boston was always going to be the team to beat for The bucks to get out of the East so "big picture" it didn't really change anything. Then you have to factor in what was said at the end of the video , Let's say The Bucks don't make the move and Dame goes to The Heat , to me that would have been even worse for The Bucks. As is , again as a Bucks fan I really am still more worried about The Heat Shooting light out again with Jimmy Buckets stealing games Then Boston. My biggest question with Boston is how much does "big Al" still have left in him because he is been able to slow down Giannis better then most. Porzingis a bit a of wild card but I really see him not playing well vrs The Bucks or being a factor as much vrs other teams they play. This is why I still fear "Big AL" , they traded away all there other "Giannis stoppers" and Porzingis is not going to be able to guard Giannis . Giannis wants it bad this year and he is going to be going hard,
The only thing that gives me pause is the fact their best player tends to choke. But from top to bottom, Boston hands down has the best roster in the NBA
I don't think the Depth with Pritchard, Hauser and the additions of Springer and Tillman are underrated, this is the most complete 8-10 man rotation Boston has had since Tatum and Brown
I want everybody to remember this video the next time people complain that Taytum isn't an MVP candidate. I also wonder how much Jrue Holiday is going to help their turnovers in the playoffs if Taytum and Brown are still acting as primary ball handlers.
One of the most interesting aspects of the trade is that Holiday is one of the most effective defenders against Dame. That could matter if Boston and Milwaukee end up in a playoff series. You gotta assume Holiday would play his heart out in that series.
The one thing your leaving out is Jrue wanted to end his career with the Bucks so when he was traded he told Portland’s front office he wanted to go to Boston, that is why he is here obviously Celtics wanted him but Jrue also wanted the Celtics. He wants to be on a contender but also the rival to the team that did him dirty after all he did for them with also showing his loyalty. Bucks in returned sent him out the door, so thank you Bucks for your monumental mistake!!!!
I literally agreed dirty everything you said . The bucks tried being the Lakers and karma came and slapped us in the face. Ya when this happened and he went to Boston I was like might as well hand them the Larry O'Brian trophy now
The loses to the Nuggets, Lakers, Cliipers and Milwaukee does not convince me that this is the best team in the league inspite of their record. The team still lacks a leader who can take charge when things are not going their way. If this person is Tatum, we are going home empty again.
Celtics were already a top tier contender, and they added guys who immediately became their 3rd and 4th best player, without giving up their top 3 players from the year before.
It’s not dames fault he’s “not fitting”. Coaching has been horrible all season. They should be running 50 PnR’s per game and have way more ball movement. Also, Giannis has done nothing to share the court with dame. Giannis stops the ball and drives straight at the hoop. It works for him to put up numbers because he’s so athletic, but it lead to a lot of turn overs and missed ft’s too. Feel bad for dame again.
Kind of weird that here you are making the point that the Celtics are so much better with Jrue Holiday, and meanwhile about 75% of the highlights you show are just general purpose Celtics highlights, like plays where Derrick White lobs to Porzingis for the 2 hand flush, or breakaways where Pritchard dishes to Tatum for the dunk, or Jalen Brown making the sweet spin move to get from the foul line to the bucket for a monster dunk, etc. I mean, we enjoy Celtics highlights, but the ones you show are not supporting the point that Holiday has helped the Celtics become a great team.
What I like about BOS is they have guys who are happy with winning games and playing good basketball. They don’t have a lot of the extra stuff that many of the teams around the league have to deal with.
Except Taytum, playing on a hilariously stacked team, built entirely by ripping the rest of the league off, playing career low minutes and shot attempts, complaining he's getting no MVP attention.
Marcus smart was always holding this Celtics team back because he is so limited offensively Getting Holiday as a 2 way guy covered all of the Celtics weaknesses on offense Smart could never play make and creat his own shot like holiday can

I see no lies here
they got 2 first round picks
I was hoping the Warriors got him but I'm just glad he's finally on a contender.
Yep. I was wanting denver to trade mpj for KP...

I honestly think Pritchard way the reason they were comfortable trading Smart in the first place. Either he was going to start or they would have gone big with White at the point and Rob and KP starting together and Pritchard as the 6th man. I think Brogden was gone either way.
Very very good points

Good retrospection regarding the bench, just exactly what I have caught myself thinking lately...

Still can’t believe bucks fans were saying Giannis>Tatum
Dame>Brown

😂😂😂😂
I'm a Celtics fan but I would still take Giannis over Tatum. Dame vs. Brown is a toss up because Brown is bigger and has more offensive versatility and plays way better defense but Dame is Dame. I am taking KP over Khris hands down though. Then you have Jrue and White who are indisputably the best 4th and 5th options on any team right now.

so that claim that you think is "funny" is backed up by 66 games of facts and winning.
As a Celtics fan, I’m still not convinced by this squad. The only threat to them is a West team
GREAT discussion!
Tatum and Freak are tied 2 and 2 in playoff series so i CANT WAIT for the tiebreaker this year!
Sam Cassell GREAT acquisition!

Fuck the Jason Tatum narratives, fuck the Jaylen Brown left hand jokes, this Celtics team is winning it all if they’re healthy.
People sleep on the heat every year, heat > Philly 100%
Jrue Holliday does things on the court that no other NBA player does, and he is a joy to watch on a nightly basis.
All 5 starting members are two way threat…Jrue and white are top2 defensive guards on a same team and JT and JB are a top 3 two way duo in the league
Amazing moves by Boston but idk if Tatum is THAT guy in the clutch. Definitely see them winning the east
Malcolm brogdon and the timelord arent significant. Haha. Those guys catching strays..
Rob Will was significant, but couldn’t be relied on because of injuries. Brogdon was really disappointing in the playoffs, although he ended up getting an injury, he was underwhelming come playoffs.
Compared to the impact a guy like Jrue has they were not significant.
@@MahcusSmahrt36 Jrue SUCKS in the playoffs.
Like... Real bad sucking
@@Edd-zd5wbwon’t matter when you have 4 to 5 other players backing you up
@@MahcusSmahrt36 Jrue Holiday SUCKS in the playoffs, not just with the Bucks.
And Middleton wasnt injury prone. He was clutch in their ring year. And they won with Giannis becoming an all time great and clutch Middleton shots, not with Holiday shooting 4-20 every other night.
I don't think Jrue Holiday is what changed the celtics, its KP who is a rim defender + 3p shooter. Once they had that it was game over. Jrue is just cherry on top
The Jrue trade might be the least lopsided of the 6 that got them their top 6:
- KG and Pierce for Jaylen
- Fultz for Tatum
- Kemba Walker for Al
- FRP for White
- Smart for Porzingis AND 2FRP)
the celtics are now the only team on par with denver, but they gotta beat denver to be considered the best team in the league. that would be a sick finals though
Yeah. The finals we all want (except the teams we support).
If Kristaps Porzingis stay healthy this season & consistent 2024 playoffs Boston big chance get #18 banner 💪💪💪
this reminds me somewhat of the Warriors when they got KD. JD ain’t KD but it’s just a perfectly put together team that drafted, traded and signed their way into success. they didn’t do what the Nets or Clippers did and just buy a team
Getting Jrue holiday from a direct competitor Bucks is so savage and the bucks never saw it playing out that way
I have been saying this ever since this trade happen.
This isn’t a super team imo. They’re just really well put together. Jrue/KP/White have a combined 3 All Star selections. Jrue is 33/34.
At this point in the season, I think they could lose someone to injury and STILL win it all. That's how good they are.
2 Things you shouldn't do if youre NBA GM
1. Trade with Boston
2. Sign Miami Heat Free Agents
One of the most interesting aspects of the trade is that Holiday is one of the most effective defenders against Dame. That could matter if Boston and Milwaukee end up in a playoff series. You gotta assume Holiday would play his heart out in that series.
Only thing missing is that jrue holiday is dames kryptonite, they traded us dames counter . Makes me happy
So what you’re telling me is Brad Stevens pulled a gigachad move on the rest of the GMs of the league…yeah that checks out
I'll believe when I see it. They are always beast in the regular season.
Ya when this happened and he went to Boston I was like might as well hand them the Larry O'Brian trophy now
can we please talk about how good Brad Steven's is at this GM job.
“If they’re healthy and making jump shots 😂” Yeah, but you know Tatum and Brown are going to no-show again. 2-15 games incoming for both of them.
The loses to the Nuggets, Lakers, Cliipers and Milwaukee does not convince me that this is the best team in the league inspite of their record. The team still lacks a leader who can take charge when things are not going their way. If this person is Tatum, we are going home empty again.
If you ever think the Tyler Herron Duncan Robinson package for holiday is enough you are joking
I'm a NY/NJ guy I dislike the Celtics, but if this year's finals don't feature the Celtics vs the Nuggets the NBA is rigged. Not that it ain't 😂😂😂
The only thing is that an unhealthy bucks kept the last game they played to a three point loss and they did it without gianniss
Wait, this guy thinks Smart is more valuable than Porzingis? Huh?
Smart to Holiday wasn’t that revolutionary. KP has made them unstoppable. His post ups are the most efficient play in the league by far.
Even tho Damian is a superstar I never thought he was going to make them that much better and still they are not as deep as Boston
Derrick White and Kristaps Porzingis are the keys to their Championship
Also, remember, Danny Ainge could have taken Markell faultz. Instead, he took Tatum.
It's championship or bust type of season in Boston, I hope we win it all this season
@@testattestdotnetlmao ya just love to make stuff up he as was asked a question and answered it he never “complained” about not winning mvp
Marcus smart was always holding this Celtics team back because he is so limited offensively
Getting Holiday as a 2 way guy covered all of the Celtics weaknesses on offense
Smart could never play make and creat his own shot like holiday can
