    My opinion on stuff like this is that it's possible to build a roster that guarantees a conference finals appearance. Beyond that, matchups and shooting variance takes over. Especially any team that makes the finals would be crazy to blow it up.
    Now, Jalen's salary is pretty crazy, so trading him might be a necessity to keep the rest of the roster. Outside of that, there's no reason to trade him in they make the conference finals.

I think Brad Stevens is sitting in his GM chair SHAKING his head when he sees the most talented roster in the league just focus so heavily on three point shooting. I think Ty Lue is finishing his deal with the Clippers, and I think the Celtics need to stop playing like the Warriors when their two best players are average NBA shooters from 3

Brad was a phenomenal coach and I’m not even a Celtics fan and he was and is like the youngest GM in the league so if they are gonna bring in another coach just let Brad do it you’ll have a great coach and guy that Tatum and Brown already know.

  • @animaroku
    @animaroku Před 2 měsíci +5

    Winning a chip revolves around luck also. Injuries, crazy performances, bad shots going in, good shots going out. Tatum is a player that can win a chip as the number 1 guy, as he proved he can be in the conf finals almost every year since his rookie season, and finals. There is no team more consistent than the celtics, and this year they are def the best team in the league. But - are they 100% winning because they are the best? No - and it won't prove anything, because the sample size of the playoffs is so short, unless they are really horrible, they can still lose to the bucks or nuggets or something - and they are still the best team in the league. Not always the best win, and thats why the game is good. The only reason you are difrentiating Giannis from Tatum is because Giannis had a crazy playoff run where everyone were injured. I'm not saying this to discredit him, but the point is - if Harden and Kyrie are healthy/Durant's foot doesn't step on that line, you will say - Giannis is not a.number 1 guy on a championship team, and that is simply rediculous

    • @animaroku
      @animaroku Před 2 měsíci

      Ok - so you cant know for sure a guy can win unless he wins - that is a weird logic, because Giannis, steph, Jokic, Lebron, KD - all won somewhere in their career - why is past winning indicative that they can win again? Maybe they cannot? They are different player on a different team. The assumption that past winning is saying something about the player is pretty superstitious - the playoffs is just a small sample size and a lot can happen there - as I stated, Giannis would not have won anything if he wasn't extremely lucky, because his team was not the best team and nor was he the best player in the world - unless you believe there are some "clutch gene" or religious stuff like that - if you a top player serounded by top talent you can be a number 1 guy on a championship team. Lebron for example is probably not good enough to be the guy anymore, unless he has an incresible supporting cast, which he doesn't - that doesn't take away the past, just looking at the game today. Giannis has much lower chance at winning number 2 on his career than Tatum winning number 1 @@taj3618

Yes Porzingis and Jrue are great additions, but do those two players solve the celtics main problem in big games? No they didn't, they actually have the same problem, which is live and die by the jumpshots, like Giannis needs a Middleton, Tatum and Brown needs a point guard to control the ball and decide when to drive and when to shoot, this player doesn't have to be a top player but a good "true point guard", a younger Kyle Lowry, or Tyus Jones would be better for them.

      Despite the ECF appearances (and 1 Finals appearance), they have only found new ways to beat themselves year after year in the playoffs.
      Now, if they make it to the Finals, there’s no shame in losing to a team like the Nuggets.
      However, if they shoot themselves in the foot again in a playoff series (or the Finals), then the Celtics FO might have to consider doing the unthinkable, & split up Brown & Tatum.
      If they lose to the Nuggets in a competitive 7 game series, then definitely keep them together.
      If they lose to the Nuggets in 5 or less (or miss the Finals again), expect the Celtics to shop Brown & or Tatum.

Case in point: Right off the bat he says that the Celtics are "...a borderline historically great team." Well I hate to burst his bubble but the Celtics are not a 'borderline'historically great team,' as he downplays it in this video. They ARE though THE best offence to EVER take to the floor in an NBA game. They are also 1st in several other offensive categories as well.
