These are excellent platforms. Paired with a good drive they ride like a dream. I spent many a days and nights on an islander made by starcraft and its still in excellent condition.
Thank You! She going up for sale soon and I’m gonna be looking for another one to do. It’s a fun and fairly easy project that can be completed in less than a week.
Thank u for the video gave me a good idea for a platform on the back of my boat I have a 87 18ft superfisherman same as your boat but I have a live well on the front trolling motor factory and my gunnels are carpet not painted but my boat is lot worse shape than yours setting in a field for years all vynle, carpet, plywood floors the transom are bad and a million holes were all the crappy rods were on this boat but alot of wear and tear all yeah the seats were all pedestal seats from the factory and 140 hp vro after tearing everything down I'm about to build it back good video
@@234jsrock2 yea I debating weather or not pull rub railes off my boat cause that aluminum sheet that runs across the top it would be easier just to replace the metal as oppose to filling all the holes I mean like 3/8 to 1/2 holes from the crappy rod and the brace in the back of my the center support Of the transom all my tabs are broke so its just another something to fix how does the boat handle on the water
tod hollandsworth I here ya there. Mine has a million holes from a snap cover. I kind of wish I would have filled them. The boat handles really well. At first I had the pin up too high under the motor. But once I figured that out it trims out right away and rides really nice. Another good tip is scrap off old logo and purchase new. I sure was glad I did that instead of trying to salvage the old by hand painting.
I have a 1974 Starcraft Holiday looks exactly like that but is not an open bow. Was yours factory or did you do it? Im thinking about trying to convert mine
If I were to do it again I’d buy actual marine grade carpet. It lasts way longer and has a better feel. I’d also buy the fold out seats that the boat originally came with. It would be a lot less work, better seating, and the same amount of storage.
Hey i really like the blue color on your boat its about the same color i painted my first car with a 83 z28 camaro. It was dodge viper blue with crome flakes in the paint. Where did you get that paint and what color is the name of it? I really want to paint my boat build with it after seeing yours.

Cool! Good luck. One piece of advice would be to use 3/4 over 1/2 inch marine grade ply. I used 1/2 and it’s got som play in it.

@@234jsrock2 my paint job totally different than your boat but the boat the same pretty much other than carpet glass platform upfront and paintjob
Quick question for ya. I have similar boat. Under the decking does the fly wood stringers extend all the way to bilge? Like pass the little opening
Two aluminum stringers that go from up past the windshield counsel all the way to the transom. If ya got an email I’ll send ya pictures.
@@234jsrock2 thank you I appreciate it. My email is jordanking5968@gmail.com
U wanna do my got the same yr n model lol
Love your video. I am restoring 1975 .do you have the blue and white paint codes ?
Thanks. No sir. I went to the local fleet supply store and bought tractor paint. It’s the second aluminum boat I’ve done and it holds up really well.
Excellent job I have the same boat and I want you to do it for me how much will you charge me

I wonder if yours is shorter. That’s the way mine came.

@@234jsrock2 thank so much! Have tough is it to get your hands on those original seats?

I believe it’s called Olympic Blue
It’s a tractor paint from a local Fleet Supply store. It’s the second time I’ve used it. It’s really durable.
cant hear you over the music?
Thanks for the feed back! We will work on it going forward. Hopefully content will improve quickly.
