- So what can Starcraft do with an old 1979 boat that was found in the back of a boat boneyard and literally had a tree growing out of the middle of it? Check out the before and after of this little miracle!
I bought a similar 1976 Starcraft with similar console and condition with a very nice trailer and older, low time Merc 40 motor - for $700. Now, I couldn't afford $5k to send it to the factory for them to do all the work - so I just plugged away on it myself. I repainted it professionally (myself) and designed my own graphics to retain some of the original 1976 feel and 'spiced' it up just a little and made the trailer appear to be a custom matched 'KRAPPIE KILLER' sport trailer. I did new carpet and put a new windscreen on it and it looks AMAZING and I put maybe $300 more into it and it looks every bit as nice as this one in the video - to me - even nicer because "I" did the work - I just didn't slide the work on the company credit card and tell others what to do.
Looks great. Much better than my '66 Starcraft Jupiter.
Can you give specific details of the rebuild. I'll bet there are a lot of folks with old boats that would like more info.
I have a 1979 StarCraft in the garage. Looks the same as this one. I am checking the hull and then going into a possible rebuild.
How much does this coast in all
I'm curious to know what that ran you. I have my Grandfather's 68" 16' Super Sport-V, and its ready for some work. I've considered doing it myself, but perhaps going factory refresh is the way to go.
Did you end up restoring your Grandfathers Super Sport? I just a hold of my Grandfathers 68 Super Sport and I'm trying to figure out how to paint it.

What is the shaft length of your trolling motor? I am restoring a 1972 Starcraft SS 16 and I have a Motorguide Xi5 GPS with a 45" shaft. I am hoping the 45" shaft length will work right for me down here on Lake Hartwell.
