Hey ya'll! Today on my channel we are reacting to some people who wish they didn't go on their honeymoon. These are some people sharing the stories of their honeymoon from hell - and how they recovered!
They had the best intentions when they booked their honeymoon - but everything went wrong from the start. From missed flights to missed appointments, this honeymoon from hell was all too real.

Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

So here is my story. We went to Jamaica. We went out on one of those glass bottom boat deals to the barrier reef a few miles out from shore. Now a little background on us. I am an extremely experienced diver. I was raised on the ocean. My husband on the other hand doesn't swim well, his neck is fused due to a drunk car accident (yaa college life). He can't lift his face out of the water.
So I had spent a few hours teaching how to snorkel and be comfortable face down but being a BOY he refused to wear a buoyancy vest (kinda like a life preserver but different) it just keeps you floating so you don't have to work so hard at snorkeling on the surface.
Now then. The tide is out so the water is lovely and calm. We are snorkeling along the reef, I point out the "fire coral" and warn him not to touch it. Time goes on and I suddenly hear shouting. The boat we were on is sinking, the guy who was running the boat is in the water screaming. I swim over and the guy is freaking out. My husband is freaking out because we are a few miles out with no boat. I tell everyone to chill and free dive down about 40 feet to get our fanny packs (with all our money, camera and stuff). I come up and my husband is mini panicking because he really doesn't swim that well and the boat guy is screaming at us that we owe him for a boat (he drove it into a coral head and busted out the bottom of the boat which turned out to be a freakin sliding glass door pane).
Cue everything going to hell as the tide begins to come in. Generally the reef is underwater at high tide so we start getting big waves breaking over the reef. My husband gets slammed against the reef repeatedly, so I swim over yank him over onto his back and start pulling him away from the reef. I yell at him to just go limp and let me handle it.
He says we are going to die, so I tell him nonsense, the tide is coming in we are just going to use the incoming tide to swim the few miles to the shore, no big (I was actually a bit concerned about sharks since I could see blood in the water from his legs). I set off for the shore in a rescue swim (him on his back with his head on my chest, me on my back just kicking with my flippers and taking it easy). Hubby starts to cry and says his leg is broken, he is a ton of pain and begins to shiver. I keep him calm and keep swimming. The sun is starting to set (really beautiful btw) by the time I get close enough to shore that I was in the windsurfer territory. Some guy on a windsurfer sees us and sails over and says, do you need help? I said ya can you drag us in, so chill, he tosses me a rope, I pull my husband up so his head is on my shoulder and off we go. We get to the beach, and I look at his legs (I'm a trauma nurse) and see massive burns, scrapes and cuts from his crotch to his ankles from being slammed into fire coral.
Meanwhile the little asswipe who sunk his own boat gets back and is screaming at us to pay for his boat. I stand up and tell him unless he wants me to punch him in the mouth, he best make himself scarce and go call the cops if he wants to talk (I was still a little hyped up on adrenaline from the swim)
I get my hubby to the local clinic, tell the docs I want some antihistamines, antibiotic cream and a steroid. Doc agrees and gives me what I need. I fix him up in the hotel room and get him comfortable.
He turned to me and said, you hate me don't you? I said why? He said, because I couldn't save you. I giggled a little and said, sweetie we saved each other but next time, wear the vest ok?
The rest of our honeymoon was fabulous, but he has never gone out on a boat again lol. We've been married 58 years this coming Christmas.

For real tho! but honestly not really! me and my husband have been married five years now, we were friends for a few months before we got together like 2-3 months, One day he was helping me move, and a car rammed into us, Going 55 and pinned us into a telephone pole it hit my door and I took all the impact! Why no husband and my then 3 year old son, we’re okay came out untouched but shaken up! are you on the other hand was 3-4 months pregnant, And my pelvic bone was severely broken in three spots! I couldn’t walk for four months I was in a wheelchair! my husband who is my friend at that time, mind you I was with my babies father at the time, but my babies father never showed up to the hospital to make sure me and my baby was OK even after I sent him $250 to do so. anyway my now husband stayed with me every single day I was in the hospital which I was in the hospital for about a month. he helped me and my mother take care of my son. we started dating while I was in the hospital a couple weeks after the accident. he started helping me shower and carrying me from the wheelchair to the shower seat, he helped me get dressed. when I got released he moved in with me right away, he took care of me for the next three months. and my child. he would carry me up the stairs so I could shower, he moved my bed downstairs so I could sleep in the living room and be near everything I needed. I even had a commode which if you don’t know what that is it’s a toilet that is portable and that was right beside our bed. and he would help me go to the bathroom and he would hold me up while I wiped my butt. and then he would empty the toilet for me. he would stand outside the bathroom door or inside the bathroom outside the shower while I was in the shower just to make sure that I didn’t slip and fall or get hurt. and he helped me learn how to walk again. we got married seven months after we got together we were engaged only four months after. and like I said we’ve been married for five years now. well two months after my pelvic bone was fully healed. I pushed out a baby! A little baby girl, my than fiancé stayed with me the entire time at the hospital, and he got up with the baby a lot of the time while we were in there for two weeks. my baby was premature like the rest of my babies. and he helped me a lot with her while we were in the hospital. and right after we first got home. of course like all fathers he eventually stopped waking up with her at night and doing a lot of the parenting stuff. he will occasionally change a diaper or give a bath here and there now. he had two kids from his previous relationship as well. so together we have four kids. we live in a nice house, worth about $200,000. after we got my settlement from the car accident, I bought me and him both brand new cars Worth about six grand each, I paid for a new place for us, I paid all our back bills and future bills for three months. and I took us on a trip to Puerto Rico. we fought alot on that trip, and really we didn’t fight that much before that. but the week leading up to it and during it we fought a ton. anyways we made it through it, and again five years later we’re still married. and we are OK. but out marriage is far from perfect. he definitely isn’t the same person he was back then… it’s like pulling teeth to get him to sit at a hospital with me when I’m sick, or to Watch the kids while i shower. and needless to say it’s starting to become alittle toxic and bumpy, we have talked about marriage counseling but haven’t went yet. We try to talk through things but he has a bad temper. I’m not saying i’m perfect but i’m not a confrontational person, and I try to still help him and care for him everyday in every way that I can, I have and always will put him and the kids first! But he has just given up it feels like a lot. he constantly picks up my faults, and starts arguments over nothing. And I hope everything changes because I love him. But i’m not sure it will, and i’m not sure I can get through to him. So i’m not sure how much longer we will last! Point is you can go through hell and high water with someone and things still could not work out…

@@supersonicsilas I'm sorry for you and your husband. It sounds like you have a lot of unsolved conflict, which now hits back. Sadly this can only be resolved when both parties learn how to communicate their feelings and needs, plus to vent without getting personal. Maybe you can sit your husband down and talk with him about basic communication like "I-Wish"-massages, no "You do this and that", no "You do never/always..." and sometimes the other person just needs to vent without beeing interrupted and the listener trying not to take it personally so the other side can be explained after (also without interruption). Just some tips from my therapist. Personally it helped me a lot to communicate better with my partner but he is more like you. :) Either way I wish you just the best.

My holidays from hell were when I was like 8 years old. We drove like 10+ hours to vacation in the South of France, on the French Riviera. There's my dad, my mom, my sister and I. We arrive when it's already late to the house we rented for two weeks, and we quickly settle in. However, after a long trip, one wants a nice shower to take the gross away. There's no hot water. Ok, it's summer and I'm 8 so I don't care. My mom has chronic back issue, a hot bath is medicine after 10+h in a car. But no hot water. We call and they say they'll come to fix it in the morning. We go to bed, I remember giggling with my sister (she's 2 years older) about water noises in my belly. In the morning, I wake up and there is no one in the room. In fact, I don't hear ANYONE in the house. I leave the room and see that my parents room is empty. So I walk to the living room / kitchen and there, on the floor, there is my sister on top of my mom and my sister is moving weirdly (she was having a seizure, but I was 8 so I didn't know).
My mom says to me that she heard the car of the man taking care of the house, he was coming to fix the water. She says that I need to go get him, so I run outside and I find him fixing the gas line and I'm like "I need help inside". He ran inside with me, pulled my sister off my mom and brought her to the sofa. I had to help peel my mom off the floor. She explains that my sister woke up and was behaving strangely, she tried to get herself some water but fell backwards. My mom tried to catch her but she had back issues and it gave out on her so she just fell with my sister. My dad was out getting us some breakfast and he's not back yet.
The man, bless him seriously, calls his doctor and tells him that my sister is unconscious and was seizing. The doctor says that he'll call the emergency room and we need to go right away. My dad comes back, we get directions to the hospital (it was before the GPS) and we drive to the hospital. I'm 8, I have my sister's head on my lap, she's not responsive, and my father is driving like a madman (I'm super scared in cars lol).
We get there, the nurses were waiting for us outside (what did the doctor tell them?!), they put my sister on a gurney and off she went. My mom went with her, my dad and I just waited.
She stayed in the hospital for more than 1 week. At first, I couldn't see her because she was in isolation, just in case she had a disease I could catch from her
Then I remember playing by myself in the children's playroom of the hospital and watching cartoon. My dad bought a plastic pool so I could play in there as there was no beach for us. We even went to the public pool one day. The mood wasn't really there though. I lost my only pair of nice earrings, it was a gift from my grandparent, so I spend days with a flashlight looking for it in the driveway. I know it sounds dumb but hey... We watched a tv show that was filmed a few kilometers away on the tv to "enjoy these vacation more". My sister was really sick but they didn't figure out why at the time. With the medication and the rest, she was sent home with strict guidelines. She could barely eat, and we spent the last few days we had just exploring around. Noting major because she had bouts of puking.
What did my sister have? It took YEARS for the doctors to find out. My mom went to every doctor, every specialist, screamed at everyone "my child has a problem" and no one listened. Then one day, we went to my kinesiotherapist. And she says (a genius this woman, she saved me as a baby and my sister as a child lol) : "One of the symptoms is that your daughter wakes up and has no recollection of what happened in the few hours before bed? Has anyone ever like... checked what happens to her when she sleeps?". No. No doctor ever asked or tested it. They went to a new doctor, a neurologist for children, and my sister had a 48h ECG done (they monitor the brain activity). She was having seizure every night that erased her memory. It was a certain form of Epilepsy (I don't know the name in English). For years she went untreated and undiagnosed because "every mom thinks their child has a problem".
Yeah, these vacations sucked but looking back, it was a good thing she got sick. It made my mom realize "Ok, I'm not insane, my child does have a problem" and she sought a solution. What would have happened if they never did find out?

My advice as a travel consultant: don't go to an Airbnb on a honeymoon. Too much can go wrong, especially if it's a different country. It's better to plan through a travel agent/consultant, especially one that specializes in honeymoons. They can get you good deals, and if something goes wrong, they can do the research and booking for you, like in an emergency. The last thing you'll want to do is find and book a flight when you're at the hospital.
Also, don't rent a moped or scooter if you have no experience with one, it's so easy to get in an accident. Two different coworkers in Thailand got a scooter for the first time, got in an accident very quickly, and ended up with broken bones. I was only there for a year. They require proper training, just like a motorcycle. Just because some countries don't require a license does not mean they are safe or easy to use.

The ironic thing - not honeymoon related, but family vacation related - my baby sister would f*ck up every single one of our vacations every single time by being constantly sick, poisoned, spraining something, mistreated somehow, sunburnt, jellyfished, lost, sick again, poisoned again ... Nobody else, ever, had anything wrong with them. We just couldn't have fun. Keep in mind she was a golden child to a narcissistic mother, so it was considered normal. Dad and I just tried to kinda... make the most of it, I guess. But never once did we go on a vacation and chill on a beach, reading and visiting local landmarks or something. It was always frantic looking for some remedy for sis, who screamed and cried and vomited throughout the duration. This is from my parents’ honeymoon in the early 1990s (details may be wrong but the main story is there). They went to the Galapagos and had a snorkeling/swimming portion. During their time, they met this woman who was super interested and enthusiastic about every little thing they were told about the area and was really into the wildlife. The locals on the boat warned that there were sharks and while most were harmless, if they see a black shark (forget the species), they should get away from it asap as it was the only species known to be involved in an attack on a human.
As they are snorkeling, the woman pops her head up from her fish gazing and asks, “It’s the black sharks that are the dangerous ones, right?”
The local says. “Yes” and the woman responds, “Ok, because I just saw one right over there.”
The local pauses and notices a black fin circling his boat and the group of swimmers.
He calls for everyone to get back in the boat immediately. My dad is seemingly the only one oblivious to the situation and is relaxing in the water. My mom didn’t want to cause any further panic and told my dad that he needed to get back on the boat. He responds, “Why? I’m having a great time!” My mom told him again that he needs to get on and he pushed back a bit since they weren’t in as long. It wasn’t until she or the local shouted that there was a shark in the water that he started towards the boat.
They got away but I think it took a while before they did because the shark got a few more laps in. This is my mom’s favorite story during their honeymoon.

Charlotte, you will appreciate this story.
This isn't a honeymoon story, but it is a flight disaster story. I used to travel a lot for work and have had many flight disasters, but this one by far takes the cake.
So . . . I had to travel from my home city of Little Rock to Atlanta for work. My flight was supposed to leave at 1:00 pm so I get to the airport around 11:00 or so. I'm at the gate before noon and as the time for our plane to arrive approaches we are notified that the flight has been delayed because of storms in Atlanta.
For those who don't know, the Atlanta airport is notorious for causing flight delays. But with as much traveling and flying I did at the time I wasn't concerned because I've had many flights get delayed.
The original delay time was 1 hour. As the first hour of the delay came and went we were notified that the flight had been delayed another 2 hours. As the day passed the delays continued and we all sat at the gate indefinitely and unhappy.
During the LONG wait, I started talking to a couple who were sitting next to me. My flight was direct, which turned out to be a good thing for me (you'll understand why shortly).
The couple I meet we're connecting in Atlanta to another flight to North Carolina. He is a wedding photographer and was hired to video and photograph a 😮wedding on one of the beaches in North Carolina. 😟
So, as I mentioned the day kept dragging on and the delays kept coming. We FINALLY got word that we were going to leave in an hour. By this time it was after 9:00 pm. It was around 10:30 when we finally departed. But it gets even worse.
The photographer couple found out that they would not be able to get a connecting flight out of Atlanta to North Carolina that night and the rental car companies at the Atlanta airport were all out of cars. The wedding they were trying to get to was the next day around noon and the earliest flight they would be able to take wouldn't get them to the wedding on time!😮They explained their situation to the gate agent who eventually told them they had spoken to a gate agent in Atlanta and they were going to try to at least get the photographer on a flight that night.
We finally all make it to Atlanta after 1:30 in the morning - nearly 12 hours after we were supposed to get there. When we deplaned we were greeted with the most unbelievable scene imaginable. When I say the Atlanta airport was packed from wall to wall it's an understatement.
Atlanta's airport is packed on any given day, but that night it was so packed it was shocking. It was as if a major storm had come through Atlanta and the airport was being used as a shelter for everyone in the city. As I walked through the airport there wasn't a single space that wasn't crammed full of people. People were even sleeping under the seats in the gates and everywhere else in the gates where they could find a space. There was literally a narrow path where people could walk in the main concourse of the airport.
When I got downstairs and walked past all the rental car agencies there wasn't room for another single person to stand in any of those businesses. People were even on top of the narrow metal dividers in each of the car rental stores - some people were sitting and some people were actually lying down and asleep.
The worst part of this disaster was the photographer didn't get out of the Atlanta airport that night, which meant some poor couple didn't have a photographer/videographer for their wedding. All because of some rain and lightning more than 12 hours earlier that afternoon.

After she admitted that it was a mistake mind you. The whole 3 hours it took for them to figure out that she was being a major butt hole to not only me and my mother, but to at least 7 other guests I was doing the pee pee dance bc i had to go an hour before we arrive. I was holding it for 4 straight hours and was in sever pain before the lady behind the counter demanded I stop whining. the manager was already out and fixing the damage when he snapped at her, gave me a key and I ran for my dear life for the bathroom. we ended up getting the room back and had a wonderful vacation after that

He turned it in, but it wasn't officially taken care of in time for them to go on the cruise they booked. They ended up having to stay behind. Thankfully, they managed to have a good time anyway. They managed to find a decent hotel that they could afford and spent a few days at Disney world.

My story is similar to the last one, but not quite.
Context: 4 **days** before our wedding day, I was hit by a car while bicycling home from work. Spent a day at the hospital to make sure I didn't have internal bleeding and such.
Wedding day comes along and goes pretty well, although my pictures weren't great because of all the wounds and I still got dizzy and lightheaded a lot. The day after we are set to go on our honeymoon (as weeks trip to Paris). I have never been on an airplane before and didn't know the "rules" about airport stuff.
To make the story a bit shorter, we arrived to late to get on the plane, because I didn't know the "be there a couple of hours early for luggage check in" rule. Stupid me for having my head almost smashed a few days prior.
We ended up spending a couple of days at a fancy hotel in our capital city instead. Never got any refunds, because we just missed our flight. (was also through Expedia)
But, we are still happily married, just had our 10 year anniversary.
Keep up the videos! I love them.

About a week after we were married I was looking for my “bullet” to use during intimate time with my husband and couldn’t find it anywhere! I was mortified at the realization that I must have left it under the pillow at the cabin. The room was under my mom’s name. 😂 My husband and I just celebrated 10 years on the 3rd. One of the few positive memories for me from during the plague, leaving the local mall/supermarket with my housemate, the main path to the exit took us past where all the cars were queued up for testing, as well as a section of the bus terminal converted for pedestrians to get tested…
…so being the smart alecks we are, we put all the windows of the car down, inserted that particular CD, and had the main chorus blaring at full volume as we drove slowly past.
Credit where it is due, we got a LOT of nasty/dirty looks, but a handful looked up, heard the song, and could be seen going into massive fits of laughter…even a couple of the nurses could be seen struggling to hold it in (the weird shuddering shakes when someone is trying to control themselves, and two holding their midsections)

Not a honeymoon story, but while still dating, my now-husband and I took our first (and only) trip to Mexico for the Christmas-New Year's break. Had a lot of fun, stayed in a nice all-inclusive hotel. Almost immediately I started having symptoms of The Revenge but kept them at bay with Immodium enough to enjoy the week. However, on our last day, I spiked a fever, had chills despite the 90F weather, felt like the floor was moving up and down, and had to hit the restroom literally every 10 minutes while awaiting our flight home. My bf thought I was whingeing but did kindly go purchase a sweatshirt from a souvenir shop because I was freezing. During the flight (thankfully short-ish) I avoided using the lavatory on the plane but firmly instructed him to PLEASE STAND UP AND GET OFF THE PLANE AS SOON AS WE LAND because I was going to be in trouble if I had to wait. He is not a fast mover so this was problematic. The concourse for Mexican flights is way out in the sticks of the airport so the walk to customs and then baggage claim is ridiculously long, and I nearly sprinted while squeezing my cheeks for dear life. BF was strolling slowly behind me, complaining. The line for customs was so long that I had to use the restroom before getting into line, and by the time my passport was checked, I needed to use the restroom again before I could go on into the main concourse. I had to approach a customs officer on the other side and tell her my situation, at which point she very kindly ESCORTED me back to the restroom, waited until I finished exploding for the zillionth time, and escorted me back around customs so I didn't have to stand in the passport line again. Mortifying. She was very kind and accomodating, and I thanked her profusely right before running down the next interminable hallway to find baggage claim. The very next day my bf came down with a massive case of Montezuma's Revenge and his mockery died away on his lips - but at least he was home in his own bed! We married several years later and he refuses to ever set foot in Mexico again.

On the subject of getting left behind. I went to Europe with a tour group back in 1988. Didn't know anyone in the group, but after three weeks, I'd made some good friends. When we were in Brugge, in Belgium, one of those friends and I were walking around town, and got completely turned around. We were supposed to be back to the train station by 5 p.m. to go on to Brussels, but when we got there, our group was gone. We got on the next train, and stood in the doorway watching for them. Sure enough, at the first station in Brussels, people from our group jumped on board pretty much every car of the train, and the ones closest to us shouted "We found them! They're here!!" They had been meeting every train. Apparently they had all arrived at the train station in Brugge a little late, so they didn't have time to count noses before getting on the train, so they didn't realize my friend and I were missing.
