      Yes. It definitely took a bad turn at some point and it’s almost relieving that OP was in Beth’s life to just ask the simple question if she liked her kids or being a mom. Those kids deserved love and clearly she wasn’t going to give it to her. People who have been hurt continue to hurt others. It’s a sad cycle but one day Beth will grow up and have a real relationship with her children. PPD is a huge setback for a lot of moms and being honest with yourself has to be the number one action to take to get better. Say what you want about Beth and her choices with everything else. This one and only choice she made was the most selfless and crucial act of all. I think it was the beginning of her becoming another person. Like the parents in Matilda giving her up to Ms. Honey.

    Beth sounds like one of my exes if she'd made all the wrong choices. She tried like hell to keep her kid and be a good mom, but she realized she hated being a mom. She gave up parental rights to her ex and his new wife, got her tubes tied so she'd never have to worry about it again... She also had a lot of mental health issues and went on to get into a couple of more abusive relationships before finally getting her mental health under control and finding a career that makes her happy. I'm very proud of her. Hopefully Beth gets to a place like that eventually.

      Its far from messed up, If you cant give your kid a happy life you should give them away to someone in a position to do that. I grew up in a violent home and it completely destroyed my life, I`m 35 now and I`m still struggling with my past. This is no joke for children, Mental abuse is the same as being beaten physically not exactly but it can also destroy life, You wont succeed in life with a weak mind

    • @toprap88
      @toprap88 Před rokem +7

      @@RRbudgets Well this is the parents fault, Its your job to look after your kid. They clearly didn`t, A mother would never be hostile against their children unless they have been treated the same as kid, its not that she dont like her kids, She just have too much hate to her family that she cant take it.This is exactly why I never gotten kids yet cause I grew up in a violent home, I know I wont be bad to my kids but you cant have responsibility over someone else lives if you have underlaying issues, Deep down she knows that, Thats why she gave them up. In this age its the parents who are fucked up not the kids, People should keep that in mind and dont blame them. There`s a reason we have so many single mothers now, Its because they haven`t been raised right. I know the feeling she has, I hated the world for 20yrs because of my father and became extremely violent towards people, Even looking at me was a bad idea So I understand her. Most people have no idea how much this will hurt a kid mentally

  • @AerynKDesigns
    @AerynKDesigns Před rokem +1990

    honestly I'm glad she gave up the kids. I've known people like this, and people that used their kids as weapons to get money from the fathers, and take them to court constantly, and they always *always* hated the children. The kids were nothing to them and neglected like crazy. Raising a mentally well child is hard enough, but it's impossible when you give 0 shits about them. I'm not a fan of children, but no one deserves to be raised by someone that clearly hates them or sees them as nothing but a burden. I hope those kids recover and get to enjoy the new families they're in.

      Me, too!
      Giving them to those people, SPECIFICALLY to those people, was the BEST thing she could ever do, as a mother.
      She probably wanted to give them away, for years, but didn't because she would be viewed as selfish and bad. It was BRAVE to give them up. And it was for their own good. As much as she hated being a mother, she KNEW people would judge her harshly for giving them up, so she kept them as a shield against that judgement.
      When you're a bad mother, you can't win. Keep them, and you're a bad mother. Give them up, and ... you're a bad mother. Except that, if you ARE a bad mother, giving them up IS THE BEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO FOR YOUR CHILDREN! Giving your children up for adoption IS the loving option.
      I truly hope that the new parents teach their children that their mother gave them up OUT OF LOVE for them. She didn't like being a mother, true. But she CHOSE to PROTECT them from her future self, putting them in SAFE places before she lost control and hurt them, as she inevitably would, if she kept them any longer. She'd grow to resent and hat them. She might even grow to ENJOY the abuse.
      I hope they teach their children that THEY ARE LOVED, and to never feel bad about being given up by their birth mother.

    Her personal trauma is part of the reason why she doesn't want to go to therapy, from what I gathered, from the type of family she has, going to therapy is admitting you're the problem.
    Giving up her children was the only healthy thing about this whole story as she's been taking out her frustration, trauma and hatred on them. Taking into account that she's displaying really aggressive behaviour she needs help, which she won't accept because she's obviously been brought up in such an unhealthy manner than asking for help is accepting defeat, this will only escalate, I truly feel sorry for her crazy ass.

Beth got therapy but the bridge between her and OP has been burned. Beth’s sister came out gay and her parents kicked her out but the relationship between Beth and her sister still hasn’t healed. OP is doing pretty well for her self. But as for Beth until she realizes that Chad is a scumbag she will forever be stuck in her personal hell unless she divorces him and moves on.

    “Do you even want your kids? Do you even want to be a mom?”
    “…No” I feel like Beth needed that talk, and I don’t blame her for giving up her kids. She gave them to people who wanted them and can give them a better life more ever than she or the system could. She’s delusional, and sadly bitter and closed minded because of it, but she went through trauma and never got the right treatment nor coping she needed, even if she had some help to keep her afloat. She didn’t have “real” friends that stayed by her side through and through it seems like, her family wasn’t supportive, and the only form of love she got was toxic and thought marriage and kids and a family would fix all that… I hope one day she can truly leave Chad, focus on herself, and get the help she needs …

She really does sound like she needs therapy, even if it is just to talk about everything that has happened in just 5 years. Therapy doesn't have to be because you are "crazy". Kudos to "Adam" who fought for his child and to the other guardians of this story because they were saved before anything worse can happen to them. Those babies going to loving homes is the only good part of this fiasco! I doubt that she will stay on birth control. That's her preferred method of "man-trapping" and grabbing attention on social media. She's learned she has no responsibility to the babies she births, she can just give them away. It will happen again.

      I think she needs to get her tubes tied, period. Cuz birth control can fail as well as if she decides it's too much work to keep taking it and just doesn't take it anymore...

    I'm glad that she signed over her kids to a cousin who obviously wants and loves them. I honestly feared for the children's safety.

    My wife and I enjoyed THIS story the most, out of all th ones we watched last night. She kept asking “are there really people like that?” and I had to tell her “yeah”. 20+ years ago I was a wedding photographer on Maui (where my wife is from and in fact where we married), had to deal with Bridezillas and annoying MIL zillas regularly.

    Wow as a mom of 5 I can't imagine joking about leaving my kids anywhere. I believe that there are people in this world that should NOT be allowed to have children. This woman being one. It is also surprising that Chad is still in the picture. Beth needs serious mental health care. The fact that no one else besides the poster has realized this just shows how not cared for Beth is. I really hope Beth never has another child and gets the help she needs.

    I find it interesting that Beth wasn't considered "high risk" in high school. Just goes to show, you never can actually tell who is high risk and who isn't.

      ALL of us had the "egg baby" class. Boys and girls, high risk, and "goody-two-shoes."
      We ALL had to pretend that raw egg was a baby, and treat it with the fragile care that a baby deserves. And if our egg broke, we failed.
      Except for me. My egg baby was kidnapped and thrown from the school bus window EVERY DAMN DAY! The "held it hostage," in exchange for sex, which I refused, so they threw it away. With all the witnesses, the teacher gave me a chance to try again, with a new baby. I went through five of them, and he saw me taking care of it, and knew I was trying my best. But nobody would stop those horrible perverts from kidnapping my baby and trying to extort sex from me. REAL sex. Egg baby, but REAL SEX. They sexually harassed me for MONTHS, and the teachers knew and saw, but did nothing, except one teacher told me to report it to the USELESS vice principal, and the health teacher excused me for losing my baby ever day. Because he didn't want me, the goody-two-shoes, to be at risk for a teen pregnancy (the whole purpose of this exercise was to PREVENT teen pregnancy), just to get a grade. So, thank God for that, at least.
      But, yeah, only giving that prevention to students who are "considered" high risk is stupid. You have NO IDEA what most students are facing at home. They may be "high risk," without you have a clue about it.
      Sure, some are obvious, but some are NOT, and you can't be sure you've helped all the high risk students, just because you helped all the obvious ones.
      To tell you the truth, some of the "high risk" teens may not be high risk, at all, because they are taking birth control and always insist on a condom, while the "safe" girls are SUPER HIGH RISK, because they don't have ANY protection, and their "godly" fathers/brothers/uncles/cousins, etc. may not be so godly, after all.
      So many girls who are "safe," because they are stand-offish with boys at school are that way because they are being regularly raped at home, which makes them VERY high risk, indeed.
      I'm not saying that's the case with Beth, but then again, we don't know.
      The way her father threw her away in the first place... Let's just say I have my suspicions. Her family was certainly NON-FUNCTIONAL, so there's a non-zero possibility that she was abused by at least one member of that family. But we'll never know.

      I find it ridiculous that they only do it with "high risk" teens because literally any kid could get pregnant that's why at my high school everyone boys & girls regardless of "risk" all had to take care of a fake baby. But like can you imagine being a kid & being told you were having to take care of a fake baby because your teachers thought you were more likely to get pregnant so they want to show you how bad it really is. Its almost can become a self fulling prophecy at that point when you tell a kid you think they're gonna become a teen mom, it can make it seem like its not that big a deal because well they thought I was just gonna get pregnant anyways so so what if I do
