Story 1: The dad is a real MVP. He protected OP and Tiffany from a forced marriage, and it lead to OP and Tiffany living a life they want. Screw those other parents

The MVP that got them into being able to make their own choices and now they have a relationship because they were allowed to build the relationship and it's a healthy one where they both want to be in onen where they could've hated each other because they would've been forced together. Goodness gracious that dad is the best. The other parents though, trash. They would've, ironically, ruined the relationship.
He did that without enabling bad behavior, and ensuring personal growth in his son and the mother of his grandchild.
It's an unbelievably difficult balance, and he did it basically perfectly.
Story 1: The fact that OP's mother and Tiff's parents booted both of their kids out for not being married and now their kids cut them out when they ARE planning to marry eachother. Isn't karma a bitch?

The dad in the first story is the stuff legendary dads are made of. He calls the bullshit as bullshit, fully supports his son in his toughest times, stands by and for his son, sees the hard work his son is doing, and sincerely wants what's best for his son. OP marrying Tiff is the cherry on top.
Hopefully for OP's sake Tiff isn't the stereotypical work-hard-play-harder-nurse-with-a-wild-side with a pent-up desire to reclaim and relive her youth because it will not end well for OP and Jelly.

1st Op's dad deserves so much credit!! I will never understand parents that are like "my child has made a mistake that is going to significantly make their life harder....I'll make it exponentially worse for them!" I have 2 kids and just can't wrap my head around those actions.

Some people just value their religious beliefs more than the human beings that they have struggled so much to bring into the world and raise. It's like in their minds, their children are ungrateful and bad for not having the same beliefs as them and having the audacity to commit actions that go agains their beliefs even though it's not so bad. Well, they can continue to live in their own bubble and stew in their own self-inflicted misery of not having their own children obey the laws of their religion. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

That dad is everything a parent should be: understanding, patient, and supportive while still enforcing responsiblility and growth. He did what everyone should aspire to do; be better than the generation before him and want the generation after to be able to have a better life than he did. We need more people, not just parents, like this in society.

Story 2: On this season of “That Not How Polyamory Works, You Monster” we see a wild narcissist almost ruin the relationship of her “friend” so she can get her rocks off.
Right? With the sheer number of people out there abusing "polyamory" and "open relationships" out there, it's no wonder people automatically get up in arms when they hear someone proclaim to be as such.
Even had the gal to say she liked him when it wasn't in a romantic way so she was only after him for his body, what a creep. Agreed but if a Homewrecker can break the relationship, I also blame the individual(s) giving priority to HW or anyone outside of the immediate relationship.
When in doubt, the spouses should absolutely talk to the accused spouse directly. The accused spouse needs to do everything to reassure the spouse who is in doubt for any reason. The doubting spouse needs to allow the accused spouse to defend him/herself.
1. Don't marry anyone who doesn't trust you or you don't trust.
2. If trust ever breaks down, get a marriage/relationship counselor you both agree on. The relationship will end if Trust breaks down too far.

I'm not polyamorous, but polyamorous people really get a bad rap cuz of people like the "friend" in the second story. Most polyam people I know do not act like that at all.
In my opinion if not everyone agrees to it it's just cheating not polyamory and if everyone agrees to it it's fine.
@@horatioprout429The term usually used by ACTUAL poly people is "enthusiastic consent". The people apart of the relationship can't just agree, they have to actually be excited and happy about it. This story is actually a good example of the difference, the "friend" didn't care about the husbands enthusiastic consent, she just wanted to verbally abuse and gaslight him into agreeing. We've seen other stories on here about "open relationships" where the other person "agreed" after threats of divorce, berating, discovering a pre-existing affair and many other coercion tactics.

Story 2: Wow, what an A-Hole. Husband's (not anymore, I hope) friend wanted to sleep with him and was willing to break his self-esteem to get what she wanted. She's definitely the abusive type and would've continued to abuse him
I love her assumption that if she broke up their marriage, the husband would automatically jump her bones, and the wife would automatically sleep with one of her boytoys. It's like having a crush on a local high school teacher, so yooouu... get him fired so he has time to date you? And not like, be busy looking for a new job?
OP's dad not only saved them from a cultish arranged marriage, he taught them to be responsible parents who respect what help they do get while understanding they aren't entitled to it, made them get parenting and coparenting classes so they didn't develop some weird toxic relationship, and helped them understand how to give each other breaks so that parental burn out doesn't happen. He helped build them. Helped them walk so they could run while making them do most of the work.

Just one thing though, what almost happened to OP and Tiff wasn't an arranged marriage, it was a forced marriage. There's a world of difference.
The irony is, had the rest of the parents supported the young parents the same way the father did, they would've get the wedding they wanted. Instead, they tried to force it, which would've resulted in a resentful couple and a child suffering from it. Meanwhile, OP's father opposition to that resulted in a happy little family.
Also, good on the father for immediately bringing them both to court so they can deal with everything regarding custody and child support. Things were about to get difficult for both of them, and the last thing they needed was to argue about that during a very stressful period.
Well, that's not a guarantee. Notice that the dad didn't just give em shelter, he also set reasonable boundries to make them take on responsibility, and lectured em on how to be better. The dad gave them the correct way of support for everything to turn out as it has.
If the parents didn't drive em away, they would not have been living under the same roof, they would not have to work so hard and take on that much responsibility etc. OP would most likely be still going to school even if he wasn't doing particularly great. They might not have grown in their mentality to such a degree, and they might not even be together. Things might have turned very different with different circumstances...
@@N0xiety if the family forced a marriage between kids it would probably fail and lead to even more resentment they needed the mental space to grow as people the father did and excellent job at guiding them and adding a bit of pressure as needed to make sure they didn't just rest on their current situation until it was too late

Story 1: OPs dad is an MVP. Most valuable parent. He's supported OP and his ex as they become parents of their own. And made sure they are set up for success.
Story 2: That woman is NOT polyamorous. She's just a selfish harlot that wanted that guy for, at most, a few months of fun, and would just toss him to the curb when she was done with him and move onto the next guy and shrug her shoulders about his broken life. Good for them on not letting her back into their lives.

I hate beyond compare that, since more people are coming out as poly, cheaters are using that label as a new excuse to justify their ways, despite real polyamorous folks constantly stressing the importance of mutual consent between all prospective partners, ahead of consummation.
Agreed. There are definitely good and bad poly relationships, don't get me wrong, but these relationships still have to be built on healthy communication and strong emotional bonds, just like monogamous relationships.
My best friend is poly. He has a girlfriend and tagged onto a two person couple as well. They're all super strict and structured about it. He refused to start seeing the other two until he talked to his girlfriend about it and all 4 of them had to agree on ground rules.
Using people for their bodies is not poly. It's an open marriage.
God I'm so annoyed with all the stories of people using polyamory as a reason to cheat. My partner and I have an open relationship because she is Poly while I'm more monogamus. I want her to be happy, and so when we first started dating, we talked about boundaries. I don't mind if she has other partners, and we've been happily dating for almost two years now. THIS is actual polyamory, not whatever the hell the woman in the second story was trying to do.

What was absolutely terrible was the manipulation, the continuous insistence, and the selfishness involved, to the point of breaking the confidence and self-steem of the friend, all to get what she wants.
I do say though, that maybe she manipulated her boyfriends too.
1st story is sad and beautiful. What OPs mother and Tiff's family did is inexcusable. But OPs dad is a SAINT. He already experienced the life OP was headed towards and stepped up to fix things. Two old families were lost. But a new wholesome family was created in the ashes. Tiff must have been so scared. But she has a new father who will protect her for the rest of her life. OP, I am so happy you reconnected with your dad. Keep on talking to him. He has more to teach you.

Honestly, this is a good example of what can happen when someone is there to steady you and when people do everything they can to tackle a problem together, no obstacles can stop them!! Can tell you from experience, polyamory is not a case of cheating without the ignorance. There's a reason we use the term "enthusiastic consent" a lot. Without it, it's not polyamory, but instead cheating with extra steps. Some may have once called it being a cuckold.

Story 1 dad is really an amazing dad. It’s literally the best use of tough love I’ve seen. He understands OP’s situation so provides housing but still requires them both to get jobs and an education. Provides financial support but only when he can tell OP needs the help and has been putting in the work. He didn’t leave them out to dry but still taught them how to take care of themselves. Amazing parenting.

Some states in the US don't have a lower limit. Only about 7 states outright ban marriage under 18.
Yep but most of the states where there is no legal age minimum for marriage does have a minimum for devise

Which is why the dad would have had to help out in getting the marriage annulled because the two would have been stuck being married together for at least 2 years
It happens alot I think 30,000 kids have been married off like this, some as young as 10
And in New Hampshire or Massachusetts it's 14.

The thing about all the parental figures (that arent OP, his dad and his now girlfriend) is that if they'd forced the marriage they would have probably been bad parents and a bad couple... their work and eductional life would have suffered and the parents would have been satisfied and angry at the same time

Last story- Yikes, I'm polyamorous and that is so damn gross. I totally get monogamous people not wanting to have more than one partner, and people who try to push open relationships make all the good people with more than one partner look like assholes. I was the school nurse in a high school and oh how I wish there were more parents like the dad in the first story. So many of the kiddos who got pregnant at my school were kicked out.

That first story, I think someone was cutting onions while I was listening to it! OMG I am crying so much! OP's dad is an absolutely legend! You can tell, from how this story was written, just how much appreciation OP has for his father, not to mention is renewed love for Tiff. I was hoping and praying, from the start of the story, that OP and Tiff would reconcile. I have no doubt OP's father will be so blessed to walk his son down the aisle, may walk Tiff down too. I almost forgot, OP's mother and Tiff's parents can go get screwed. Part of me wishes this was r/AITA so I could give them all 5/5 bad guys because my god, what a bunch of sorry excuses for parents and human beings! I wish more people would realize that babies are a gift and people just don't come equipped with the tools to deal with relationships at a young age. That "mother" that kicked the son out and decided to marry the kids just because, would have ruined their lives. This father knows the true meaning of family. It touches my heart to see someone who really wants his son to succeed in all aspects. Really a truly commendable man. You can be upset about an outcome to an action your child has done, but it's so important to guide your child through it. Wow. Amazing.
He really put all the work in to see that they knew what was going on, how to deal with it, what they each needed to do, not just with work and school, but relationship wise as well. He gave them a home, space, advice. He went to bat for them in court knowing they didn't have a clue what to do, he had their back ALL the way. He didn't force or guilt or coerce. He didn't bribe or threaten, he was the epitome of a MAN, a true FATHER, a DAD. Somebody clone this man immediately 😂 or have him teach a class. Everyone should take a lesson from him. That's how it's done.

Story 1 Complete Disagree OP deserves "Father of the Year" for stepping up and Manning up at a young age. As for OP'S Father for what he's done for his son, Granddaughter, and soon to be Daughter in Law He Deserves "Father of the Decade" Not just the the year. He is their Rock and true Teacher of Life. 1st story: What a wonderful story to hear in the morning. I didn't grow up with a father and usually I feel like I didn't miss out on much, but stories like this make me wonder what lessons I would have had.
That father is amazing! He really did so much for those kids. What could have been such a messy and loveless ordeal turned into a bright and thriving future for that family. Dad needs an award!
2nd story: the level of manipulation that friend showed is outrageous. To break somebody down slowly over months and months. Just so that they'll be depressed enough to sleep with you. Most people in open relationships aren't about that lifestyle. At least not the ones I know. Open relationships have never been something that I wanted personally. But that woman is a shark. I'd keep her far away

The dad of the teenage boy with the young baby is SUCH an amazing man. The way he has stepped up and supported, guided, and encouraged those teens through this and helped them prepare and transition them into adulthood and parenthood is unparalleled. I have never heard such an amazing story of teens becoming parents.

Story 1: the mom and Tiffany’s parents are really just awful people in general, they don’t ignore the fact that Tiffany is pregnant, they just kick both of them out like “see ya never” I bet after the child is a certain age they’re both going to come crawl back and say some Bs that they want to see their baby.
They're the types to complain to other ppl that 'theyre so sad that their grandbaby doesnt know them 🥺🥺' and conveniently leave out the fact that its 100% their own fault.

Story 1: aaaaaaaahhhh so wholesome! i'm so glad things are working out for OP and Tiffany as parents to Jelly and also that they found their way back to each other as a couple. OP's dad is a rockstar! it really seems like there aren't many parents that would not only help their kid who has a kid, but also help their grandchild's other parent. sure, letting them all live under his roof is one thing, but he's been so supportive with his rules! his rules were made not to punish the teens for having a kid so young, but to help them be the best parents they can be! he helped OP get into a trade school early on, and instead of kicking Tiffany out when she turned 18, he said she has to stay until she finishes college. i can think of a lot of parents who would say "well you're an adult now and you're not my kid so you're not my problem anymore" but this dad is making sure she has a home rather than making her figure something else out or end up on the street. no matter when OP and Tiffany get married, i hope they have a wonderful life full of love and joy and laughter with their little one, maybe they'll even give Jelly siblings when they're ready! and if they break up again instead, i hope they continue to have a great co-parenting relationship and stay friends. i really really think they are so much better off with OP's dad and his rules, support, and lessons than they would have been if he hadn't stepped in and stopped the other parents from marrying them at 16. this way, they get to make that choice for themselves and they didn't have to figure out how to be new parents and (unenthusiastic) newlyweds at the same time. i wish all 4 of them the best!!

That's a great idea for videos at the end of the year. Out of the thousands of parents, kids, employees, bosses, clients, etc stories you read in that year, which was the best (and worst) example of them all.
And there should be movies about fathers like this one. Best human being ever, but he had to learn that humility the tough way too.

First Story: Wow OP is in a really tough spot here. I can't imagine how hard it is to be a teen parent. Also isn't it illegal for a parent kick out their minor child? OP and his ex are both still minors and OP's mom and Tiffany's [parents both kicked them out? That is illegal right? Not going to lie, OP's dad is an amazing person to be helping these teens out like this in their current situation. Wow, so thats why OP's mom and Tiffany's parents won't talk to them, tis because they had a kid before they got married and they can't force them to get married now. This people are insane and that law allowing literal minors to get married is insane. OP's dad IS the dad of the year, he is doing so much to help and support his son, grandson, and the mother of his grandson. I'm glad OP sees how much of a treasure his dad is. Wow this story is really wholesome; I wasn't expecting them to get back together and they started dating again. Also, good on both of them for cutting contact with the toxic people in their family (OP's mom and Tiffany's parents). Glad OP's dad found a girlfriend that makes him happy and feel alive. I wish nothing but the best for OP and his family

Second Story; Why do some people like to make assumptions on how others feel about their partners? What happened to someone loving their partner and only them. This friend needlessly made OP's husband feel insecure for no reason and the suggestion of opening the marriage is a horrible idea in my opinion. If it ain't broke don't fix it. What made this woman think a simple apology is going to help? She almost tried to end a marriage by hurting this guy's self esteem just so she can sleep with him? Wooow, first off she is lying about saying looks only matter. U can be the hottest and sexiest person in the world but can have a personality worst than trash and a lot of people in the world will find that garbage personality unattractive

Story 2: That’s not what polyamory is. That’s what abuse is. Openly. 99.9% of poly couples respect the hell out of monogamous couples because why wouldn’t they? People who openly disrespect other peoples relationships and screw with the mind and self confidence of those within that relationship are toxic and problematic and abusive and don’t deserve to have friends. That’s not polyamory, that’s just abuse and selfishness.

That first story hits me on a very personal level, I wish I had a dad like that he reminds me of my papa (grandad) my papa keeps my mum me and my two brothers going and my partner helps out too, dude it makes me cry with happiness man it’s just perfect ending for everyone !
