    If you're a lactating mother and you think that you could nurse someone's baby, you would have to ask first and NOT do it without permission. But, a woman who is NOT lactating... doing this WITHOUT permission?! So crazy!

    • @nicolethetford3095
      @nicolethetford3095 Před rokem +198

      This, but also people need to educate themselves on bacteria and how fragile babies can be. A baby nursing on someone who isn’t their biological parent could be put at a larger risk of infection, it’s just not safe even with permission.

    • @is_just_diana
      @is_just_diana Před rokem +68

      EXACTLY! In any moment there was a talk or any kind of asking for consent, also the point of Nicole about bacteria.
      That lady is delulu, she went above and beyond behind op's back, and no way she is going to stop, she is going to do something else and OP needs all the help she can get to take care of her, her baby and to collect any evidence to put that RO/press charges against delulu Karen, and yeah, give her some psychiatric help. That's NOT normal

      @nicolethetford3095 Yeah, wet nurses used to exist (and probably still do in some places) but with the help of formula, people can feed their kids despite not having much of a supply without the risks. Also, even those require consent from the parents.

    Since she has convinced herself that she is the baby's mother, she is extremely dangerous. She will never give up. OP needs to take steps to make sure that her daughter is safe.

    • @willadafanderson6714
      @willadafanderson6714 Před 11 měsíci +27

      Yeah, these are major red flags, thinking it's OK to engage in extremely intimate contact w/ someone's child, regardless of motives, on its own is enough... but the fact that she is lactating, the delusion goes so deep her body has a physiological response... and why did the women she was talking to tell her it was OK to breast feed while they chatted? She obviously presented the baby as her own.. no normal person would suggest, or even be witness to that happening to somone else's baby....
      so if she told this to random wedding guests then she has definitely told others that it's her baby.... not only is her direct behavior a potential threat, but if she fooled OP she could fool others... this needs to go on the record now! Before the crazy woman turns OP's life upside-down w/ calls to child services, family court filings, demands for DNA tests.... if she is convincing enough OP could be arrested for kidnapping & the child removed until maternity is established.... those things always seem impossible, but there are plenty of articles that prove family court is like in another dimension....
      Add to that the threat of this woman just taking matters into her own hands... the most dangerous time in a abusive marriage is when it's first broken off, that's where this woman is, she is desperate to get back to that child.... the shitty thing about restraining orders is having to give ur address to the recipient (so they know where to stay away from) but this woman already knows it, so police report & restraining order 1st thing...
      Followed by alerting friends, family & even neighbors to her potentially dangerous side... otherwise she will use them to weasel in or gather info.
      ...& make sure any daycare/ baby sitter has a copy of the restraining order.... id go tell each day care employee myself, since they might b used to her ,& memos slip through the cracks.....

    The concept of people trying to steal babies is *disturbingly* common. There was a story that made the news a while ago about a pregnant 20 something year old who was murdered. She went to the older lady's home on the promise of baby clothes. The older lady murdered the mom-to-be, cut the baby out of her stomach, and called an ambulance, passing the baby off as hers. At the hospital, cops acted on a tip and performed a DNA test on the baby, and found that the older woman wasn't his real mom. They went to the house, found the real mom's body, and the psycho was arrested. The baby was placed in the custody of his dad and grandparents. It's actually terrifying how commonplace stuff like that seems to be.

    The former support worker in me is having a panic attack over that second story. If Lisa has the mental age of a ten-year-old, it's possible that she is not legally capable of giving consent. Add that to the fact that Lisa likes OP, while OP knows he's just humouring her for the wedding. So, the couple are essentially asking OP to manipulate and groom a mentally disabled person into believing he is romantically interested in her and are offended that he won't. What happens if Lisa tells the story of her "boyfriend" at care group? What if she adds flair to the story and suggests they kissed or were intimate at the wedding? A support worker or care worker is legally obligated to inform social services and the police. If you're lucky, it gets straightened out early. But if not, you've got a hundred witnesses at the wedding who can't account for OP and Lisa's whereabouts for the whole wedding - not even the wedding couple - but who WILL recall OP hanging around Lisa and "flirting" with her all night, and Lisa gushing about how much she likes him. No. No. Absolutely not. No. OP was right to get the hell out that situation. Jesus, I need to breath into a paper bag.

If OP would've let this stunt slide it potentially could have developed into a full blown "actually, not only is my breastmilk better, im also a better parent to the baby than you" argument, so yeah cutting that friend out of OP's life completely is probably the only reasonable option right now. So instead of correcting these women and say that the baby isn’t her's, she instead just take out her boob and "breastfeeds"? The fact she claim she didn’t do anything wrong is insanity. "What she has always done"?! This implies she did this before. OP needs to drop this friend and get a restraining order. Ok, I get having a miscarriage is traumatic but claiming another person's baby as urs (the "our" part) is just insane. This lady needs to seek a therapist. Yo this lady is actually insane; what's better for OP's daughter? OP is the mother, not this woman. She is so delusional that she is justifying this by saying OP's boobs are too small and her's are better for the baby. OP should’ve called the cops the second she showed up at her door. Changing those locks would’ve been the first thing I would’ve done but I get how OP feels staying in a hotel. I’m sure Amy can see how insane Karen is right (I’m sticking with the names Rslash made for the best friend and mutual friend)? I wouldn’t be comfortable playing pretend boyfriend with Clare's sister just to make her happy; besides, this will only do way more harm than good (as listed by OP). I figured that Lisa had a crush on OP but a mature adult will have to explain to her that she can’t have everything she wants (and when I say mature, I mean someone who has the mentality of their age considering Lisa's mental disability). I am completely not surprised by the fact Karen is lactating, men can lactate too, it's apparently an emotional response. None of this makes it okay though. And she absolutely knew she done the wrong thing, otherwise she would just casually ask: "You know I am breastfeeding your daughter, right? You're ok with it, yeah?". Additionally, I wonder if this wasn't the goal all along. She couldn't handle trying for another baby, but her friend just became pregnant... and just like that, she was there. Always. I have two theories about why Karen in the first story is so insistent on the whole "OP's child is my child" thing:
    Theory One: In the beginning of the story OP mentions that Karen has been a friend for a while and thus knew OP's kid for a while. It's possible that Karen has naturally developed some kind of obsession that obviously she needs therapy for, here's a good quote for how obsession usually starts, "Experts think there may be chemical differences within some peoples' brains that might make you more likely to have obsessions. Environmental factors may also play a role in causing obsessions, especially if you're experiencing high levels of stress."
    Theory Two: It's possible that Karen may be a closeted lesbian and maybe has a secretive crush on OP, the whole ideology of "She's our kid" may be some sort of weird hint that Karen wants to be romantically associated with OP and thus be the mother of her child.
    Edit: Went back through the story again, figured out Karen had a miscarriage. She definitely developed an obsession due to the loss of her own child.

    FYI breastfeeding works on a supply and demand system: when baby feeds, the breast fills up again. So, nursing from small breasts is like drinking an unlimited amount from a small cup: there's no benefit to having larger breasts. A large breast can have less milk, just like how a pint glass can be almost empty. The idea that large breasts make better milk is just another one of that woman's delusions.

    • @ettinakitten5047

      It's not a small cup. The milk cup isn't any bigger if you have big boobs. It's like if you have two cups with the exact same volume, but one's a thin material and the other is a thermos. The actual storage capacity in the milk ducts is unrelated to how much fat deposit you have around them.

    So scientifically and biologically speaking, OP's friend has essentially pavloved herself into being able to breast feed for OP's baby. Because she kick started the breastfeeding, her body started producing those maternal hormones including bonding with the baby. She just psychologically Effed herself. I don't really know how to explain this but the closest thing I can compare it to is a false pregnancy. It's entirely possible to trick your body into thinking its pregnant by wanting to be pregnant to an extreme degree. Basically she willed it into existence and now she's lost touch with reality.

    For the first story, I think the ex-friend might be having some kind of post-partum mental break. Psychologically, she wasn't prepared to *not* carry a baby, so she's projecting onto the closest baby in her life. I don't think she needs jail time, she needs serious psychiatric intervention.

    The second story reminds me of a story similar to what rslash did before.
    In that story, the bride has a disabled sister. Her sister pretty much had a crush on the bride's fiance. The fiance obviously made it clear that her sister's displays of love and affection made him really uncomfortable.
    Apparently the bride's parents wanted her sister to be the one to walk down the aisle with the fiance. The bride is of course tired of catering to her sister's wants and for one day wants her fiance to be ONLY hers. Her parents threw a fit and refused to go to the wedding if her sister isn't allowed to go.
    According to that OP, she's always had to share everything with her sister. And while im sympathetic to the disabled sister, their parents wanted the bride's fiance to also show affection to the sister ON THEIR WEDDING DAY. When they asked OP what she plans to do with her sister when they die, she said she's gonna put her in a home where she can be taken care of because she wants a chance to live with her life with her future husband and she wouldn't be able to focus on her sister 24/7.
    At that point her parents said if her sister can't go, then they wont.
    It felt like a favorites situation.

    Yeah I’ve heard too many stories about women kidnapping babies from hospitals or luring pregnant women to their house for baby supplies where they cut open the mom and steal their baby. One woman miraculously survived and called the police while completely open. She will never be able to have a baby of her own, and honestly after that kind of trauma I can’t imagine the pain of seeing other babies

    As someone with a similar Autistic symptom as Lisa, OP is 100% not a butthole. Let me be clear. This form of Autism delays your mental development, including maturity. If Lisa is mentally 10 years old, then she's too young to be dating. The family needs to sit Lisa down and explain to her why crushing on OP purely because of his ethnicity and her love of K-Pop is inappropriate. It's a form of racism, which is not okay. She's still a little young to be taught about consent, but they still need to teach her that if the other person doesn't return your feelings, you need to accept that and let them be. The parents are 120% NOT allowed to use Lisa's disorder as an excuse for their bad parenting. I can't be too harsh on Lisa, since that would be like being mad at a young child, but just because she's still mentally a child, it doesn't excuse the parents allowing her to be so selfish and racist. I give Lisa's family 4/5 buttholes for using their daughter's disability as an excuse for their bad parenting and racism.

    There was a case like story 1 where I live as well, it was equally messed up, just the other way around. Two sisters got married to their high school bfs, both had trouble conceiving. After numerous attempts the husband of the first sister divorced her as he wanted a kid very badly.
    The other sister, finally managed to conceive, and her husband was also the sweetest guy and made sure his wife was always cared for. So the first sister took up the responsibility of helping the second and after the baby was born, she was trying to mother him all the time. Getting in their playtimes, dictating how nurseries were supposed to be coloured. The 2nd sister got fed up after the 1st one posted about how 'her baby' had started walking finally. She blocked her and threw her out. After waterworks, threats and whatnot the husband and the 2nd sister were scared, but the husband was becoming calmer and more calculating by the day. Security cams, talking to guards, setting traps. The 1st sister figured out and assaulted the 2nd sister after hiding near her house when she left to go on a walk with the baby. The husband saw this from within the house, grabbed his SIL by the hair and dragged her into the house to protect his kid. He whipped her to death, came out and hugged his family.

    This is probably a case of Karen having the miscarriage or not being able to give birth in the future, so because she was OP’s best friend and eventually developed a bond with OP’s daughter, she really did start to think of the baby as also being hers… this definitely is a case where it could be depression and even psychosis to where the friend (in her mind) may be coming from a place of kindness in her head, but could lead to something like “I had to kill her because that’s what was the best for my baby. She was denying my life giving milk.”
    If she had come to OP suggesting she help feed that would be one thing (a pretty weird thing).
    Her just doing it behind OP’s back though, and then after OP threatening to call the police and going no contact, but her STILL using the pump with OP’s baby in mind tells me that it was some sort of delusional psychosis and could be very dangerous.
    I’ve had psychosis in a hospital after a brain aneurysm and 2 week induced coma. I was sure the ICU was having midnight dinners and all of the doctors would come out in costumes and serve the guests. It was like I dreamed it but it was real. Thankfully it was such a dumb thing, but I remember asking the nurse how much tickets were, and bed bound, I kept bugging her about it until she just smiled and said “they are 30$.” (probably to shut me up) Then I was SURE of it fr the next few days…
    eventually I came to my senses, but it makes me embarrassed thinking about it.
    Point is, psychosis can lead to very serious delusions and even hallucinations, so OP definitely needs to have protective orders in place and even move and change numbers.

    The last story: My brother is severely autistic/profoundly handicapped. I grew up taking care of him and after I got my degree in psychology I worked in a couple of schools and day programs for DD childern and adults.
    I actually much prefered working with the kids and lower functioning adults. Why- the DRAMA. The higher functioning adults constantly had boyfriend/girlfriend drama. I've seen everything from clients trying to sneak out to meet random dates in a public parks, attempted hook-ups in bathrooms and huge dramatic fights/breakups that got physical. I almost got knocked out when I got punched in the head by a HUGE guy trying to get between him and his exgirlfriend during a fight- keep in mind I'm 5'1" 115lbs girl with glasses and this guy was at least 6'2" over 250lbs. After a while I just couldn't handle the physical fights/drama anymore.
    Not saying that all or even most people w disabilities are like that. My brother has no interest in dating beyong liking to look at big/curvy girls in swimsuits lol. Actually people used to ask me 'Don't you want your brother to find a girlfriend/boyfriend?'- NO!!!!!! Are they NUTS!!!! Just NO lol.
    Anyway what they are doing to Lisa is AWFUL and they are just asking for some kind of a meltdown at the wedding. Lisa won't understand when her 'date' doesn't want to dance with her, kiss her, actually MARRY HER and ride off into the sunset. By setting Lisa up with her fantasy K-Pop looking guy she will 100% think that SHE is also getting married.
    What happens when they DON'T get married? Or when Lisa realizes that OP actually has a girlfriend???? At best she'll throw a tantrum and disrupt the wedding. At worst she'll get violent and attack OP, his girlfriend or even some random person. Even if they got thru the wedding without drama it would 100% happen sooner or later.
    What they should've done is offer Lisa her own party- but AFTER the wedding. Don't even offer her a date at sisters wedding that's a bad idea. Instead tell Lisa that HER party will be AFTER the wedding- but only if she can behave herself at the wedding.
    Then arrange a party for her. In my experience DD adults LOVE parties. We did a prom every year. You can do it in a backyard or a bowling alley- you don't need a pricey venue. Just get a karaoke machine, music, pizza, maybe some video games, snacks, pop and some cake. Some simple decorations and let Lisa pick out a dress from the prom section. Then invite all her day program buddies over from just a couple hours (longer than 2 or 3 hours is a bad idea).
    Lisa would love it. Then she gets her own special day and she has a reason to behave nicely at the wedding. She can even brag about how HER party will be soooo much better. She'll love it!!!
    But what they were planning was not only racist AF- But legit INSANE. I have no idea what they were thinking. OP was right that was a ticking time bomb of a situation and BREATH-TAKINGLY unfair to EVERYONE involved- especially Lisa. W....T....F???
