  • [Note : re-release of an earlier video with minor edits] Join me as I paddle a beautiful, 10-mile stretch of the Buttahatchee River near Hamilton, AL, from "Burnout Bridge" to the Munsingwear Canoe Launch. There's a shorter trip you can do starting at Munsingwear and going down to Tree House Canoe Launch. I did this at 1.5ft on the USGS gage, but I wouldn't recommend doing the upper portion below 2ft. But this is such a gorgeous and remote section of the river and we had a blast!

Cool footage of you paddling in the rain. Looked like some shallow spots you had to navigate on this one. Great video, brother.

Thanks, John! Yes, the water level was below ideal, but it was still a beautiful trip!!

Been watching your videos for paddling ideas! Did they jave a service here to drop you off and pick you up after?

Thank you!! There was a guy that would shuttle you from your vehicle at the take out to the put-in spot, but he's not doing that anymore. But there are several public access points, so if you can work the shuttle you can still do it. There's a shorter trip starting where we took out (about 5 miles I think) that goes down to Tree House access (5 miles or less).
