Thanks for this video! I went with the sensolite in the hopes the slightly stiff blank will work with bigger fish just a little better.

Great review Chris. And what a slab on ultra light.

Thanks for the introspective on both set ups. I'm more intrigued with the Shimano rod, because of the rod shape and apparent balance. That being said, you should ask John D. for a really nice cap ! LOL ! I love your channel ! Keep up the good work ! Ol' Pap Blevins from Ky.

i find 13 fishing reels are larger than the size catagory. i have the 13 aerios 1.0 and its almost the size of a 2000 reel. but is an awesome reel. i thought about getting the defy silver 7' light rod for it. i currently have it on a 13 omen black 6'7" medium light. which is my go to combo for anything from panfish, bass and walleye. it has an extra fast tip and actually handles crappies well. im not that type of fisherman that has to use a space x hookset to send the fish to orbit. its amazing what sharp hooks can do. but love the review and im really thinking about getting a defy silver.

The defy silver is worth the money. It’s like I said more true to power than the sensilite. But yeah 13 fishing is kinda weird with their reel sizes for sure. Lews ain’t much better and Pflueger is the worst.

seems to me that they both could do the job and do it well, it basically comes down to which one feels better to you and what your preferences are in a rod.

I’ve been using the 13 more lately just because it feels more true to the action but both are super comfortable.

I use the more of a ultra light on treble hook baits and the Shimano on the jig heads

Think the Shimano has a fast action and wasn’t the 13 a moderate action? If so that why the Shimano felt little stiffer, I like faster action rods, never liked the whippy tips on ultra lights so I would differently rather have the Shimano!!

Hello Brother wondering if you have ever eaten drum and if so would you do a catch cook video? Thanks again for everything you do 🙏

Never done one on drum but milikenfishing and pigpatroltv have done several and said they aren’t bad.

They're both around $50. IMO there's much , much better options than the Shimano for a better price. I don't know about the Defy. If they're similar....well , the same applies. Shimano is overrated in rods . You can do a lot better than the Shimano serria for the price or just a very little more. I could name a couple for even less. Shimano or Diawa is not going to give you much of anything for under $70. Look at Lews or Okuma . Anything Shakespeare in rods are a good value especially in ultralight.

Hate to tell you but the sienna is a much much lower price point rod/reel and much much lower in quality. There’s a big difference in a $30 reel/rod and a $70 reel/rod.

@@FishingWithChris_Tv I'll find it worth my time trying when I find a Sienna for $15 or less. Shimano feels they don't need to make a reel that gets above a certain level under ....well , let's just say s certain price. I'm may give the 1000 size a try at some point. I have a couple of ultralights that deserve something. I have 2 of the same model reels now that cost under $20 from a "Chinese company". I had them for over 5 years and they're probably nothing you've heard of. They're under $30 still today.
