Good video Chris. I’d like to see your setups for catfish and carp. The different terminal rigging types and how you assemble them and what types for various conditions/areas etc. I’ve always just used worms on a simple split shot set up but I’d like to get after some more serious catfish/carp methods.

Very well done, Chris. That’s a perfect setup for a portable power station. I use a small battery like that, 7Ah I think, to power my little depth finder. Found it at Walmart next to the trail cameras for about $23 or so. Love the USB port add-on you did here.

Like that I have been building my own transportable echolote. I mounted the screen on top of the box and the transducer with a glass suction cup on the rear of the boat. Really easy and holds even if you are going 20mph.

Thos is completely off topic, but I recently started using a Tatula 80 and connected 20 lb braid to 12 lb mono. It was only about a 4’ leader, but it sounded like a freight train going through the line guides. To the best of my knowledge, I tied a reasonably good carrot knot. Two questions really: Do you know a better way of doing a leader on heavier lines? and In water that is slightly cloudy most of the time, does not just running straight braid really make that much of a difference? I’ve since said hell with it and went with mono. As always, thanks for the entertainment!

You can pick up some fly fishing gloves from Sierra for those cold days, they really make a difference.

Why use tape

July has been slow. This last week though the bluegill, redbreast, bass and even creek chub have gotten active for me. Maybe it’s all due to the bluegill spawn over last weekend. Bass have been hitting hellgrammite and dingers for me pretty good for about a week.
