Good video. What are your thoughts on the Berkley lightning rod? I have had one for two seasons now and I love it so far.
I personally haven’t used one, but used to sell a ton at Bass Pro. For the price it’s a great rod!
I loved my lightning rod but it's also the only rod I have ever broke in half. Good for the price for sure though!

Did you checkout the new 2024 redesigned Fenwick line? The new Eagles at $99 USD would easily beat any of the rods in your comparison by a wide margin. With this new redesign, the 2024 Eagle is actually lighter and has better quality materials and specs than the previous generation HMG. Probably the best value your are going to find in a
U as well as many others have mentioned the new Fenwick rods to me! I will see if I can get my hands on one and make a video in the future👍🏽

i have a question, can i put a line of 45 pounds in the ugly stick elite 7' medium-heavy? Is it a big problem or not
Braid, mono, or flouro?
My 2014 Shimano Crucial (7’2” medium fast iirc) is good for some of the bass fishing I do, but it’s a little too stiff for finesse/ultra light that I want to get into, as well as for all the pan fish and perch too. I’m looking for a lighter duty rod to use in its place sometimes.
I picked up a $25 Shakespeare rod and reel combo while fishing out of town and that whippy little thing puts in work.
My question is this: are these sub $100 rods too cheap to run my Shimano Stradic 2500 or would that be hold back the reel’s performance?
No you’d be fine, I run a stradic on the omen black which has quite a difference. The fish don’t care!

Just picked up a Daiwa Tatula XT after I broke my Falcon Buccoo rod. The Daiwa feels WAY better to me than the Falcon. At $99.99, the Daiwa is a steal!

I just bought one of the cheapest rods I’ve owned and it feels good so far. Brand New. Shimano Convergence 7 ft Med Heavy, Fast Action. For 30 years I’ve used the Falcon FC5-5 MH Fast and I love this rod. The Shimano feels similar for $69, and cheaper with discounts. A similar Falcon is to mine is the Marsh and is $229. I’ll let you know later how this rod performs. Anyone with comments on it?

Fenwick would be a great rod to add to this list, I will consider that when I make another video in the future. It passed me because I have very little experience with their rods but have heard great things!
It may be BPS knockoff ? I have no idea why it would cost more than the Finwick EAGLE. Some people glorify Bass Pro stuff like it's not made in China.
fish eagle rods have been around a long time, they used to be cabelas fish eagle 54 before bass pro bought them out. American made. i have 2 from when cabelas was cabelas and they are by far my favorite. most sensitive rod ive ever owned, more sensitive than the fenwick by a land slide. they are now cheaper than the fenwick at $80, don’t be a dickrider and try different things old timer.
@@freedommoser4542 you have no idea what you are talking about....especially if you claim not to be a "oldtimer" 😂. The Finwick HMG beats anything under $80. For that matter the Eagle does TOO. Bet you don't use that word correctly. Come to reality . I'd take one over a St Crox any day. I've tested them , I know what's up with any kind of BP knockoffs . You'd be better off with a Ugly Stik Carbon. I wouldn't think about putting my new KVD baitcaster on a piece of mid range wanna be BP piece.

I want to get the okuma salo, but I don’t know anything about rod numbers and letters, I’m obviously getting a casting rod for the okuma salo, and I already have a KastKing Spartacus II Baitcasting Fishing Reel, but I’m not sure what rod to get and what fishing line is best.

At 65 years young ugly stick I have like 5 of them my high ends got the tips broken u decide Other high ends pretty much stay cased Like and late 70 s tournament bass pro cali made lews still in the plastic
This is a fact I catch 20 and 30 Pounders specifically with these polls have had hundreds of them

Ugly stiks are great. For live bait. And you can get away with em if you fish braid but they have no sensitivity. And don’t have a nice feeling to them. At all
