What reel would you recommend for me I’m looking for something around the 80-90 dollar range and I’ve been using a baitcasting reel for about a year and a half

I want to get the okuma salo, but I don’t know anything about rod numbers and letters, I’m obviously getting a casting rod for the okuma salo, and I already have a KastKing Spartacus II Baitcasting Fishing Reel, but I’m not sure what rod to get and what fishing line is best.

I use the same for years, perfect and i don't see them here. Spiderwire stealth smooth for braid and Gamakatsu fluoro carbon.

I purchased the Vanford's in the 2000, 2500 and 3000 series and thought they were great until I started purchasing the 19' and 23' Vanquish's. It's like night and day. For less than $100 dollars more, the Vanquish just can't be touched. I now own 7 in different sizes. Nice review though.

Ugly Stik Gx2 on a Shimano Sierra is a much better combo IMHO for a budget angler . . . as the differences between the $50 Nexave vs the $30 Sienna is unnoticeable from a quality/ feel standpoint.

For $30 would you recommend upgrading to the Shimano slx xt over the slx? Would you say it’s worth it for $30 more?

I had Stradic 3000 FL, which was a perfect reel, i used it on heavy loads in hard streams and fight big fish. After 3 years of using, it started to wear, and later, weird sound appeared. So i buyed my next reel Vanaford 4000. Was nice light reel, smooth and fast... But not for long, after 6 months it started to make sounds and after 1 year drag is broken almost completely, when i was fighting bigger fish, reel didn't like it, i felt too less power in it. So today i buyed Stradic FM 4000. Fished with it for the first time, after Vanaford its was a bit strange, Vanaford had MGL, so it was smoother for me, but it was too weak. Also, when i reeling Stradic FM , its feels like something is happening inside reel, sometimes its goes smoothly, sometimes not. it feels like you're catching weeds with reel, and you feel it. Hard to explain. Maybe someone had same experience with FM

Sufix 832 is the best braid in my opinion, absolutely love that line. Low vis for my baitcasters and high vis for my spinning reels.

One thing I learned about channel cats. The harder you pull the harder they pull. So when you reel them in gently. They won't get up and roll in shallow water. Spooking the rest of the fish

theyll hit when they are spawning but, its more about fishing in shallows around big rocks logs ect. they are more guarding when they bite. if its snake river more late July august for the spawn depending on what part of the river, lakes and ponds they spawning right now though

Landed a 12 lbs Chinook with the President and several steelhead! Tried 3 different Okuma and they all sucked. Had to keep tightening the handle, the line kept catching the vail on another, another broke from being held together by plastic. That was a while ago. Maybe they figured it out?? I like a reverse switch on mine allows me to swim my spoons backwards in fast water!! Peace 🕊️☮️

I just bought one of the cheapest rods I’ve owned and it feels good so far. Brand New. Shimano Convergence 7 ft Med Heavy, Fast Action. For 30 years I’ve used the Falcon FC5-5 MH Fast and I love this rod. The Shimano feels similar for $69, and cheaper with discounts. A similar Falcon is to mine is the Marsh and is $229. I’ll let you know later how this rod performs. Anyone with comments on it?

I use PLine Copolymer, moss green. Love it. I've used Power Pro, JBraid, and recently have Finns braid on my spinning setups. Love it. Edit : Yo-Zuri makes great line. I need to try the Suffix braid. Great review, thanks!

I enjoy customizing my kayak and I’m thinking F getting one of these boats next. I recommend putting a hook to hold your orange fish hook box or a tray under the seat because under the seat is wasted space. Also, is install straps or a hook so you can hang the yellow titan cold fish bag to the back of the seat. I wouldn’t like anything left in the floor. Lastly, I’d open the factory installed drain plug and install a piece of pvc pipe with nut and bolt to hold the fishing net. That would be perfect ❤😊

My Simms tributary waders have lasted me 3 seasons (between two pairs so actually 1.5 seasons each or so.) They did great in the city river, but when I moved to the Appalachians, I've been hiking far and in thorns. They didn't do too hot and now I have a few leaks. I really want to try these as they give me more $$$ for nicer boots. My biggest concern is warmth. As I read some of the comments, I got the gist that they aren't %100 waterproof. Like a wetsuit. Would you say these are still useable in the dead of winter? Days when the frost on guides piles up. I'd love to hear what you think on this!!

Daiwa j braid is one of my favorite braids. It's pretty cheap. I personally fish exclusively, hi viz!!!!!

Little hack for tying it.. instead of feeding the hook through you place both your thumbs and pointer fingers on either side and rub your pointer finger and thumbs together and boom.. same effect
