    Medication does suppress your creativity and silence your muse… I pray 🙏 for you Cinnamon. You are one of the BEST teachers out there. Don’t stop taking your meds. Your health is more important than ANYTHING. Love and light. Your partner in the same boat ❤️🕊❤️

    12:43 Cinnamon is describing something known as Spoon theory. Those of us who are active in the disability justice space or are simply disabled know this theory very well. It simply states that each day we may have a limited amount of spoons or energy for any given day. Each activity we do whether physical or mental can take a certain amount of spoons or a toll on us to complete. Some days I might have 10 spoons and other days I might only have 4. So, I try to plan accordingly as much as possible (with my disabilities planning ahead can be a real challenge because I can't always anticipate how I'm going to feel on any given day) so I can still get things done and accomplished. Please look up Spoon Theory.
    I absolutely hear you and feel you Cinnamon and I hope that you take care of yourself and feel better soon! ❤

    You are motivating me to take better care of myself. My mother has dementia at 88 and lives with me. My husband has what’s called smoldering myeloma. I am 1 year into retirement. My blood pressure has been elevated lately and my family and my doctor are encouraging me to make some time for myself. We lost our son to suicide 2 years ago. I’ve been pushing through and trying to keep going as always and I can’t because I don’t sleep well. I’m starting to realize that my health needs to become a priority. You’ve helped me to see that and I just want you to know that. You inspire me. Please continue to do what’s best for you. I’m a loyal subscriber to you and I know many are who watch you. Take care my friend and I will be taking better care of me because of you.❤️🙏

    Hi Cinnamon...yes for me therapy is paintjng or sketching. I am in control of colors I blend of what I want to paint...and it takes edge off and if I am gifting painting that makes me smile.

    Listening to your story and efforts is a reminder that we all need to look after our own situations! Remembering to keep your mind in balance and seek help when needed is an important lesson for us all! We all move through different levels of energy and activity, learning to take self care seriously is so very important. Your words help myself to remember that having a down or slower day on the creative side is okay! I know that when we did the Abstracts, a couple of those raised a bit of discomfort for me. I needed to wait until the "energy" allowed me to go there!

    About mental health: to anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had kinda androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

      Same for parental abuse, narcissistic abuse, the list goes on and on and on. Me, the list was endless. Therapy can help. Good meds can help. Getting rid of unsafe and half-safe people in your life can help.

      @@BronzeDragon133 Exactly. I've wasted so much time being loyal and kind to fake friends who were toxic and envious. Same ppl who can see our potential and value but will drag us down with intent and hideus determination, when they notice a slightest sign of insecurity.

    I’m a huge fan of yours Cinnamon, I love learning to paint, I also know we all need fresh air and sunshine to help us. Bicycling has really helped me cope, I have bike trails near me, and so happy it’s warming up so I can be outside. Keep doing what you can do, there’s plenty of content for all of us that you have already done. Breathe and enjoy spring in your neck of the woods. I love seeing all the migrant birds return and learned the names of so many birds bird watching with bird watching groups.

    I found that when life is challenging (for whatever reason), I use a twenty minute balance (20 minutes work, 20 min rest, 20 min play) in an hour. The enforced rest (rest means not doing anything exerting) allows me to recharge enough to do a bit more in the next hour. I hope you find what works for you to recharge and find a healthy way forward. ❤
    As for painting, i love going through your channel videos and finding painting tutorials I've missed, and ones to revisit (hopefully with more confidence and experimenting the second time through). Looking forward to seeing everything you share. 🤗 Huge hugs

    I am blessed that I found you during my time of struggle. I had never painted before. 5 years ago I watched your techniques and it became natural for me. Right now I'm not painting because I don't have a place to but when I finally get a place to live I will keep this video in my mind. I was doing about 10 paintings a day.     I am three years into recovering from a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury. It hurts my heart to see anyone else have to go through something like that, but I related so much to so many of the things you said, especially that painting is very tiring on a healing brain. But the great thing about being a creative Gen Xer is we don't give up and we apply that creativity to problem solving. I know you will continue find creative solutions as you go through your recovery. Also, crochet, if you keep it simple, is great for resetting your brain, calming it down, and regaining focus. I had to take a couple years off from it, but I am at a point where I have been able to pick it up again and it has been wonderful to have that outlet again. Wishing you all joy, peace, and art. :)

    May God heal your mind and body quickly, Cinamon. As a fellow prescription taker for your mind, my heart goes out to you. I've been taking meds for the last 30 some years due to a near mental breakdown. I've tried to slowly take myself off but got worse. Dr. said I may need to be on it indefinitely. I've come to grips with it and you are so right to allow your body to tell you what you need, and be sure to listen to it! There's nothing to be ashamed of. It's no different than anyone that has to take blood pressure medicine for their high blood pressure. You go girl!! We're here for you!! You definitely will be better!! I made it by doing the same things that you are doing right now.

    I’m praying for you and a full recovery. I have depression and am now knitting daily . I have also taught myself to crochet thanks to CZcams. It helps me get out of my thoughts and feel productive. I paint a couple times a week , but I do have to be in the mood. Painting is my passion but knitting is my therapy. I hope you do try crochet. There are some wonderful people in the knitting and crocheting CZcams . ❤️community.

    It’s so good to see you Cinnamon. Your willingness to speak openly about your health is probably helping so many of your followers. You are going to win this battle. I went through a very hard time after having my daughter. Anxiety and panic attacks. It was a very dark time but I sought help and was able to come out on the other side back into the light. I didn’t think I ever would, but I did and so will you. You’re doing everything you should be doing to become whole again. Exercise, sunlight, sleep, healthy food, plenty of water and talking about it always helps to work through it. You mentioned that you’d like to learn to crochet. Do it! It’s easy once you learn, and fun! The yarn is so colorful and soft. It can be meditative as well. All you need to learn is the chain stitch and single crochet and you are on your way to making tons of items. I recommend a scarf as that would be the easiest to learn. Crochet helped me A LOT when I was having anxiety. Quiets the mind and redirects those pesky “what if” thoughts.. anyway, CZcams has tons of great crochet tutorials. Start with “how to make a chain and single crochet” and you’ll be on your way. I have tons of yarn and hooks if you need any!! ❤ much love and healing vibes coming your way Cinnamon.     It's really a big change of mindset to put your health before the hustle (or what you'd call it). It's frustrating, but it helps so much in the long run. I had a mental breakdown 2,5 years ago, and now I can actually tolerate a bit of stress again. It gets better! It might not be the exact same as before, but it definitely gets better when you let your brain heal. I'm definitely rooting for you!

    My son is on the same journey as you..he was stepped down to a PHP program today…he has just gotten out of a manic episode that has lasted 2months, 1 hospital and 2 programs later…I can’t tell you how helpful you videos have helped your family…please take care of yourself…we love you!!❤

    Cinnamon, so glad you’re doing everything you can to care for yourself. You and your health are top priority at this time. We, your “art family” will be here. I wonder if doing some abstract live tutorials would be easier on you…something that didn’t require doing a painting that is “structured.” You could just be creative, and “chill”…and just chat. You wouldn’t need to plan ahead, or give direction. Maybe this would allow you to reserve your energy for healing.
    This is just a thought.
    We all want what’s best for YOU!

    Dear Cinnamon, please take care of yourself, you should rest when needed and medications too. You are doing great please don’t struggle with your thoughts or when you are tired.     Thank you soooo much for sharing. I have no meds but I suffered a horrible attack, by so called friends. It really took the last 4 years of my life. I could not even open my mail for 2 years. Getting up and dressed and making my self eat was all I could do. You have my prayers. I am pouring out my soul in the paintings I am able to do. I found you when you were starting. You made it so clear and fun. I have 1 friend rejected by all family so I thank God you have suppirt. With love❤❤❤❤❤ Susan.

    Cinnamon you are a very brave woman. Because of you I called my doctor and started talking to a counselor again. After my previous counselor moved I didn't think I would bother with counselling again but you made me rethink that. I knew I needed help but kept putting it off and things got bad but now I am getting help. I guess I just need a push and you gave me that. I have started arting again as well. You are a light in a place that is dark for a lot of us. You are courageously speaking out and taking away the stigma of mental illness. God bless you hun and take care of yourself. We love you and want you to heal. Take your time and be sure the be good to yourself. John you are encouraging as well, going through this with Cinnamon can't be easy but you are doing it. You both give us hope and we give love back to you both. Hugs and prayers for you both.

    Thank you for sharing. Do you know that the short lessons are the ones I reach for when I’m having a bad day? A bite size painting that doesn’t stress me out and is short enough that I feel like I can complete it and not get overwhelmed. It is like a little “win” during a bad day. So you’re telling us that it’s hard for you to make long videos during healing, while short videos are healing to me when I’m facing hard times physically or emotionally.
    Thanks for being so transparent during your healing journey. It’s been so helpful to hear your words. You’re so brave to put it out there and so uplifting for others going through similar things. Keep up your good work in healing, and there are plenty of videos we can all go back and watch. You are amazing.

    Your kind spirit and passion for art has taught me so much. I always give a like, but I am usually not one to post a comment, but I want to tell you what an inspiration you have been to me personally. I found your videos years ago and have done many of your tutorials, so many that during the covid pandemic I took a stack of them and donated them to our local nursing home during Christmas 2020. (Of course crediting the original art design to our Art Sherpa) We shared your beautiful designs with those that probably really needed it during the time. I never did get to go in, but I know in my heart it brightened their spirit the way you do so many.

    Cinnamon you MUST always put YOURSELF first. Your journey back to a healthy place must feel overwhelming especially with your livelihood attached to it.     Cinnamon, you are so brave and your amazing strength helps me because I relate to what you are going thru I am bipolar and it's difficult getting support out there sometimes . But I support you so much you are the reason I have painted the last 4 years and it is my self care for sure. We love you take your time be good to yourself ❤

    I used to paint with your videos a lot but I haven't done anything in years because I feel so burnt out & feel like I have no energy left in me to be creative, but I feel like I have no other option than to continue working.     I have delt with anxiety/depression my whole life. But now with Lupus it's hard to think straight. Painting is my peaceful place 'when I am able'. As you speak I can relate...

    Thanks for the update, I appreciate you and all you have taught me, just do what you need to do, there are lots and lots of videos/pictures to paint. I have lots on my list to do that are already there. You will get back to you, but as you said, you need to do it in a healthful way, we don't get to the bottom in an instant and we don't return that way either. Just take your time and learn your lesson well. Love you!

    You are brave and your explanations about what you are going through is going to help many other people. Take the time that you need, you have been so generous with your time and creativity, we can wait. I have been on a lot of your lives but don't normally make a comment. One thing that has helped me is diamond painting, when I get in a slump I diamond paint, clear my mind, listen to a book or just let my mind be still as I concentrate on placing the diamonds.     I have talked about this for years. I can see it. I can plan it but something stops inbetween my brain and doing it. It sucks but at least you are recovering.

    I hope your team is advising to take time to get used to the medication you are on. A very real problem can occur with switching meds in mid trial. This happened to my nephew a few times. Too many switches in too short a timeframe. Please give yourself space to heal at your own pace and get to know your limits.
    I can remember many years ago when I decided to start painting and you were the first person I watched and learned from. Loved your wild hats and funky jewellery. You were so amazing and still are. And then I discovered your mother. She has also put herself under a heavy load and I hope she will be careful with her well being as well.

    I am very glad to see you taking care of yourself. Crochet can be a nice, lower mental effort creative activity. I personally find Filet Crochet fairly zen. You create these images in your work through placing and skipping stitches in a pattern. Crochet can also be challenging if you select harder/more complex patterns. I hope you find something you like! If crochet isn't for you, I find that counted cross stitch can sometimes scratch the same itch.
