Lol confidence doesn't mean strength, given the experience and fight skills Quaritch would have annihilated Jake Silly, only cirumstances matter, like drowning ship, if it was 1 on 1 in jungles for ex. with no help gfrom trees or other creatures Quaritch wins 10 out of 10.

It may have seemed long at times but the main reason I saw this film was because of the visuals and the music. Even the cast did a great job too.

Something I love about Jake here is that most protagonist would go under the mind set of 'Live to fight another day', but Jake realizes that that's too big of a risk and instead goes with 'No second chances' to extinguish a threat to his family once and for all.

Also..I think it’s pretty sad that Spider’s adoptive mother cares less about him than his bastard father.
In her defense, this human's "father"'s people just killed her son. There is nothing more dangerous than a parent of any species lashing out in regards to their child's potential and or inevitable demise. Neytiri was very coordinated as it was and knew to only cut Spider's throat as to where he wouldn't die. Her plan worked. We can't garuntee she ACTUALLY would've killed him at that point.
She lost a son behind Quaritch. Spider can go back to the humans anytime. Neteyam at the bottom of the ocean dead with eywa. Why would neteriti care? Jake came from being human of course he will still have human tendencies
@@BrotherRed53 she wouldn’t have. It’s pretty obvious she doesn’t really hate him despite the resentment she has for his father. I do think she’s gonna lash out at Spider and drive him away eventually
She does care about spider lmao u did not get the message that scene was trying to deliver😂💀 just how when a new clan leader comes there supposed to kill the old one but the new one has so much respect for Jake he cuts his chest in respect neytiri did the same thing that’s her son that she has raised just like kiri she did this to show quaritch his actions have consequences and got him to play his hand she was not ever going to kill spider and spider knows that

13 years of waiting and 3 hours of buildup to this rematch and it was so goddamn worth it. I hope we get at least one more brawl between these two before Quaritchs seemingly eventual redemption

Quaritch thought that Jake was still some rookie cabo that he could bully and mentally manipulate with his games, and get rid off him easily If they meet directly, he was mistaken.
Quaritch is gonna be a far more formidable opponent to Sully now that he’s in a Navi body.
I dont know why but Jake vs Quaritch in his AMP suit seemed more stunning and bad ass. I mean, this seems like any other hand to hand fight... only with blue people. But when the AMP suit punches trees to splinters, that leaves an impression

I think Cameron should have used the Crab suit or attempted to used by of his children to fight with Quaritch, but it will be a bit similar to Aliens, which he also directed.

how is spider will be able to live with jake anyway ? they don't have a life support unit like he could live with them because there were other humans there as well. metkayina don't have isolated human enviroment. spider can't live with jake.

I don't think people realize how powerful Quaritch is in his new body. He's a better fighter than Jake, he almost killed him a second time...again.

In the extended 16 minutes on the collectors avatar edition. How was Jake able to operate his avatar body without his human body being in the machine? The moment Quaritch bashed in that glass where Jake human body was Jake could no longer breathe. It wasn’t until Neytiri got to Jake and put that mask on his face that his human body can breathe again. Does that mean Jake kept that face mask on his face got back into the machine in his human body then when jake in his avatar form him and Neytiri saw tsu tey and ended his life

I think the uncanny valley really fucked with me and biased me against it. But this fight was A1. I’ve always been a huge fan of the leg scissor choke (what Jake was in) bc it’s so fucking brutal, glad it got to shine. That rear naked choke was cool too but I wish Jake tried to hide his left hand with his chin as a RNC that deep would be finished. Great grappling definitely gonna watch it a bunch of times
Exactly bro. The action was already amazing but when they started grappling, as a martial arts enthusiast and BJJ novice, I lost it. Had to look up how to do the scissor choke after Quaritch did it to Jake. I was surprised that the chokes were legit, even Jake's. One minor criticism I have of it is the same as you mentioned and that Jake should have put his head next to Quaritch to put more pressure. F**king fantastic film. Exceeded my expectations and would watch it a million times more.

The way that specific choke works is that it cuts off blood flow to the brain; whether or not the person can breathe air is irrelevant if it's done right.
