Beautiful boat on a beautiful lake----I grew up in PA and have spent many hours on that lake-----still the fastest Ive ever gone on water was on that lake---around 45 MPH-----way back in the 70's-----I think Ranger Rick is still looking for Pat's boat------I only have 1 question-----how do you get away with it? ----LOL----thanks for the videos.

I have the same outbourd and it runs great but it just spun the prop, got any suggestions to what might be a great replacement ? Details, 28 ft Pontoon Boat, weighs 970, dry unloaded about 1470 loaded with 4 passengers, looking for a great all around speed and fuel ecomony. Any Ideas are welcomed. Thanks in advanced!

James Ammons Hi, good questing re:props. If you haven't already, you might try reviewing the Propeller sub-forum at iboats com. They have some regular posters who are pretty knowledgeable and I've seen a number of questions answered about props for pontoons. I've also heard that spun props can be fixed for a reasonable amount of money at a prop shop. Good luck, Pete.

I went to a local shop and the guy there ordered me a 14x13 and said that i could probably went 14x11 but this should be a good middle ground since the original was a 13x19 on a 28' pontoon boat. We will see either tonight or tomorrow how it handles in the water.

James Ammons That's great! Let me know how it does. Do you happen to have a tachometer? Just curious what the max rpm would be with your set up. Pete

peter1708 I don't have one on there currently but i could install one easily if i can find one around the shop. I was also going to ask you if you could snap some pictures of the choke configuration that is on your motor i would like to fabricate something for mine as its missing just has the studs sticking out showing that they are supposed to be there and it looks as if at one time there was an electric solenoid that actuates it, but that has been all chopped up and i don't know where to start with fabricating it. Also if you have a good source of information on the motor or repair id greatly like to look into it. Will take it out this weekend to see how it does.

James Ammons I'll try to snap a couple of photos. In the meantime, go to www fiberglassics com, the sub-forum Mercury Outpost and post your question there. Those guys are some of experts in the field of all things Mercury including vintage motors - very helpful.
