    Dear shoddycast I am a big fan of your THE SCIENCE videos, and I've been trying to think of a good question to ask you. Then I began to think about Star Wars and their hyperdrive systems, and how some hyperdrives are able to go twice the speed of light ( for example the millennium falcon). Then after that I began to think about the twin paradox. Then after this I realized that some people in Star Wars like smugglers and pirates spend days, weeks and month travelling at the speed of light at a time! And some people in Star Wars spend more time travelling at the speed of light then they do at normal speeds. My question to you is how old could someone become after travelling at this speed for most of their lives ( human to simplify).
    Ps. The twin paradox basically talks about how people travelling at the speed of light will age at 14% of the rate of their twin not travelling at the speed of light. He could age to be 5 physically and his twin would be 110 years old.

      dude, they are not even technically moving at those speeds, either the space around them is moving or they are taking a wormhole shortcut.
      In other words their velocity is a lot less than what it appears.

    • @b.rogers8452
      @b.rogers8452 Před 7 lety +3

      I'm pretty sure in Star Wars and a lot of other universes, they travel through 'hyperspace' which lets them travel further in the same amount of time.

    • @diablo.the.cheater
      @diablo.the.cheater Před 5 lety +2

      actually if you travel to speed faster than light means that the way you are traveling would not cause that paradox to happen, because that happens because your speed in space affects your speed moving throught time, the reason why under normal means light speed is the maximum, is because that is the point where you speed in time is infinite, so you can't speed more, that means that if you are traveling faster than light, by necesity you are somehow capable of moving in space whitout accelerating in time, for example, moving space, you can move the space around you, and space is not affected by time, so you dont accelerate trought time, because you are not even accelerating in space, you are just moving fucking space around you.
      Even if their traveling techniques don't involve moving space, by the nature of ultralight speeds, they don't have time dilatation so no twin paradox

    Hey Austin
    In the Pokedex entry is written, that it have Organs in his Cheaks, that can store electricity. We all know, that a Pikachu needs a charge time for some Attaks. The Strengt of the Discharge grows with the Chargetime, like it have two badass Capasitors im its Face. Would that not reduce the need for 500kg powergenerating mass? Sometimes i thought about, that Pikachus probably have undiscovered psypowers, that gives them the capabilities to generate a static charge with airmovement, like some kind of van de graff generator. In my opinion this thought is supported by the fact, that a Pikachu seems to hover while charching and discharching. it wpuld explain, that the Lightningstroke hits a far away, instad to hit the ground under it or toast the trainer.
    Please tell me, what you think about my Theory.

    I think the main point missing is that pikachu stores electricity. I assume its something like the electric eels, but constantly creating small amounts of electricity and storing it in one area. Then, at a certain point, that electricity is released, whether in small spurts or in a large burst. Then, it would take some time before the pikachu could release that voltage again. Or it would take external power put into the pikachu.

But I have some suggestions like: Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Line Gun, Contact Beam, other weapons, stasis (module), (tele)kinesis module, Shock Point (Drive), and Planet Cracking.

    5:28 | But what’s the amperage? As someone slightly educated in electricity, I know that volts are the pressure, the speed of the energy. The amps are the amount of energy in the current, the killing part. Electric fences exploit this, having incredibly high voltages to deliver both a quick shock and permeate the fence nearly instantly, with relatively safe-for-animals amperage ranging from 50-150 mA. For reference, an Apple 10W charger delivers 5V 2.1A 50-60 times a second. An electric fence would discharge ~100-1000 times a second, maybe even more. Ouch.
