      @@DMZZ_DZDM Forgive my ignorance, but I was under the impression that computers have failsafes that usually (though not always) stop them running if they get too overloaded. Cumulative damage is still a realistic danger, and you might need professional help to turn the computer back on afterwards (possibly minus any data stored on it), but one crash probably won't destroy it. Besides, even if the computer chip does physically melt down, I'm sure some parts of the computer will be salvageable.

      @@samueldimmock694 Modern chips do in fact have limiters on them. Some older chips did not which is why some computers melted when StarCraft 2 came out, it's title screen (iirc) was basically programmed to run as fast as possible and the screen was relatively basic so even an old chip could run at insane FPS but since said chips didn't thermal throttle they literally burned up. That said even a modern computer will still get very hot before throttling (most chips throttle around 100C) and will wear out quite a bit quicker if forced to constantly perform near the limit. Daisydumm was attempting to be funny by equating this high but relatively safe temperature to something far more extreme, it is a fairly common joke in the PC gaming community.

    • @taelim6599
      @taelim6599 Před 10 měsíci +56

      Yeah a surprising number of things in minecraft are renewable. Iron is renewable because of iron golem farms, gold is renewable because of piglin farms, while diamonds aren't renewable, the tools and armor they're made of are because of villager trading. I'm not sure if netherite is renewable though, and elytras almost certainly aren't renewable.

    • @GelatinCoffee
      @GelatinCoffee Před 10 měsíci +7

      By that logic, everything is renewable. There are only a very few specific exclusions, ones I can think of right now are. Bed rock, end portal blocks, crying obsidian (? Not sure on this one honestly), and probably a couple other things from the newer updates

    • @chanelinks7851
      @chanelinks7851 Před 10 měsíci +15

      @@GelatinCoffee no, not even close to everything. Sand isn't renewable, clay isn't, neither is dirt, dripstone, any stone that is regular stone, diamonds, copper, netherrack, quartz, many nether and end blocks in fact, etc.

Making/finding any of those is something every Minecrafter should know how to get an infinite amount. @@GelatinCoffee man you're really getting butt hurt over a simple youtube comment. I didn't realize drowned dropped copper, that is my bad. As for the clay, that is a very new feature that I was un aware of dealing with mud and dripstone. Mud which is made from dirt and bottles of water. While you can get bottles of water from fishing, dirt is not renewable. So no clay is not renewable. So I was wrong about one item out of a dozen, that doesn't make me wrong. You weren't entirely wrong yourself. Most items are renewable, I just gave some examples of some exceptions. Maybe think about that before throwing a fit and calling someone wrong three times and talking condescendingly when someone simple added to the conversation.
      Edit: And by regular stone, I mean not andicite or diorite because to make them, you use need non renewable resources.

You'd need a village to aquire a lot of high level materials, a cobblestone generator for building materials, a basalt generator for variety, a tree farm for wood (you can get a variety of saplings from the wondering trader and exploring), piglin trading, farming, and you could also acquire mining materials by adventuring without breaking the rules I think. This happens in Australia where I live all the time. Basically when the temperature is right on the edge of snow you can get areas that are snowing and right next to them its just dense cold rain lol, and it often alternates so if it rains first the snow wont settle if the water passes the freezing threshold. I even have videos where you can see it rain on one side of my house while gentle snow falls on the other side lol

    Idea for a "the science" episode
    Near the end of the movie Migration, there are a number of ducks on a plane behind a barred metal cage-like wall, they all ran against it and completely bend the metal open, so how much force would these ducks actually have to use to push open a metal gate?

    I can actually confirm that the "totally no rain, walk a few meters and BAM, massive rainstorm over a very specific patch of ground" feeling of crossing a biome boundary actually _is_ realistic. Just live in the Pacific Northwest, you'll experience it within a week.

    This just makes me want a mod that allows the players to change a biome if they work hard enough. Like if you were in a frozen biome and you heated the area up enough you could turn it into a desert, and vise versa.

    Yay, a new video! One I've been wanting to see for so long too as living in Florida, I'm all too familiar with the fact that Minecraft's weather should be nonstop hurricanes all year round with all these cold fronts and warm fronts engaging in Mortal Kombat, lol
    Also hope you're doing well and getting the self esteem you deserve

    I'm very sorry to hear you're not feeling well at the moment. I, too, have been struggling with an artistic block for almost a year, now, except my art of choice is drawing, and I used to be a mega-prolific illustrator. It's a passion, and it legitimately pains me to acknowledge how long it's been since I've created something. I hope you'll be able to find a way to manage your struggles, and in the mean time please know that I, at least, don't hold any grudges against you taking care of yourself and trying to find ways to balance it mental health.
    As for the episode, I really enjoyed it! I love science, and learning in general, so I've always really enjoyed your content. Weather patterns are fascinating, and I've certainly noticed hour improbable it often is in video games. I was initially thinking you might SOMEHOW validate Minecraft's ridiculous weather much like you did for Zelda, but... cataclysmic destruction is just as acceptable of a conclusion in my book.

    Maybe do a episode on how to make a underground city the could keep a large enough population in it to repopulate the earth. The amount of living space, recreation/entertainment, education, food storage and production, water and water treatment, seed/DNA vaults, energy, ect. With the understanding they need to wait for the fall out of radiation of nuclear war to dissipate or for humans to discover a way to safely get rid of it. This cannel likes fallout so much figured trying to figured out what a vault would really take to work would something fun for you.
