- Produced at the same time as the more well-known The Twilight Zone (1959), this series was an extension of the tradition of radio horror and supernatural dramas such as Light's Out, The Mysterious Traveler and The Witches Tale. As with the Twilight Zone and the radio programs each tale was book-ended by an introduction and conclusion by a host. However, rather than creating fictional stories with supernatural twists and turns, this program sought out "real" stories of the supernatural, including ghosts, disappearances, monsters and the like, re-creating them for each episode. No solutions to these mysteries were ever found, and viewers could only scratch their heads and wonder, "what if it's real?"
Director: John Newland, Axel Gruenberg, Jack Hively
Starring: John Newland, Robert Douglas, Olan Soule, Will J. White, Francis De Sales, Rudolph Anders
The Book of Changes, the I Ching, was not written by Confucius. It is attributed to Lao Tzu. But this is television, so who cares.
They didn’t have google back then so no one was going to fact check them.
Thankyou for your channel..love the shows in black and white. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
I like the old classic films because of all the antique decorum
Me too. Good plots too
So nice to see an american made car built like a tank
@@mickehogan3230 right 👍
I sometimes will notice the decor from old movies and wonder even if they were just Hollywood props back in the day,
If those items would be sought after antiques?
Not sure why I concern myself with such thoughts though.
@@Mjg503 yes.. some are just reproductions and some are real
William Blake
Tyger, tyger burning bright
In the forests of the night;
Alfred Ryder playing the role of Ted and the Leopard 😲👍👍….long before he played Prof. Robert Crater in 1966 Star Trek OS and Mr. Nexus (Ep. The Leader) in The Invaders 1967 too. A wonderful character actor in many tv series in the late 50s, 60s and the 70s😉
This was my very first time watching one step beyond. Thank you so much. To the film detectives , who has shared this film with us👍🏼👍🏼 I found it super interesting just the right 23 minutes of entertainment❗️🙋🏼♀️💐🇨🇦
That guy is a good actor, but if it were me I could never play that part. I’d feel absolutely ridiculous!
Part of acting training is exactly that kind of interpretative improv.
he became puss-puss
He got a paycheck for it. What do you get for that comment?
@@abbynormal3068 Lol…your easily triggered! Too funny….I didn’t know he was a relative!! Lol..
I was glad to see a young Alfred Ryder in this program. He got a lot of work, including a great episode of Roald Dahl's WAY OUT. Was the Chinese game cursed, or was it merely a lens for energies we don't understand? Shape shifters are an international myth/phenomenon. On the other hand, there's that line from STAR TREK: "Mr. Spok, I've often noticed that if good is going to triumph over evil, good better be very careful." That's good advice for anyone having a look at the magical arts.
OMG I remember Way Out!
Omg the acting hahaha love these old shows love watching them so good lol❤❤❤ subbed
If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times...stay away from the occult! 😈
I thought he turned into a rabbit from 09:44. This was a particularly entertaining episode. Thanks for the video.
WHAT A FACE the man playing Ted has! How beautifully he uses it! He is amazing!!
What a hoot. I was born in 1955. I watched this show as a child.
It is so ridiculously corny in today's world.
21:42- "In a moment, a few words about next week."
"Next week, you'll see a story about a woman who hears the voice of her dead daughter. Is it insanity- or is it a warning from the future? To find out, she *had* to take that.........ONE STEP BEYOND."
These are fascinating 😮
Great movie
Originally telecast on January 19, 1960.
Skinwalkers
Not all shape-shifters are Skinwalkers.
Leopard yikes
painful
Or a boy into a girl.
OMG so ridiculous.
So many bad actors back then.
