    Beautiful as always. You're so right about making people act natural. Some adjustments aren't really necessary and can break the flow.

    Man sometimes I get home from working a shooting and I put on a new video of you working on a shoot just to relax while listening to you work, great stuff man! Greetings from Bolivia! (I used to live in Houston and Dallas when I was 3yo funny thing!)

    Great video! I would be like you and just let it roll. So many people struggle talking on camera as it is, so when things are flowing I don’t wanna interrupt it.

  • @DynastyPlaybooks

    One of the things I do is walk my clients through the process. I also coach them and let them know I’ll interrupt them if need be because the goal is to make them look as good as possible. Clients appreciate this and in return they pay more when they believe they are being giving an A list experience . Professionalism and perception of value always wins.

    As a one man band myself, I think you're right with the interview. Most of the interview is covered by B-roll. If they aren't sitting right, in between questions I "may" ask them to move a bit and usually it's not a big deal. Nice job.

  • @colemanning5548

    When I'm interviewing I am the same as you. I let them flow and get the good answers. I worked a full time video job where our boss would nit pick things like this hands moving, subject swaying/not framed perfectly, the way they speak etc. Non industry people worry about these things way too much. I was always interviewing people who had never been on camera lol (not professional speakers/actors) ..... doing freelance now haha

    Nice job on this. I like your reasoning and choices for the setup. On a low key quick shoot like this, I would not stop to make adjustments. Get it recorded and do any pickups if necessary.

    When you're a one man band you have to make it work. What's the easy rig/crossbar setup for the gimbal? Had the ring grip but it really got in the way most of time and ended up going back to those smallrig handles? They are also lighter and more practical.

  • @andyNorway
    @andyNorway Před 2 měsíci

    I usually stop and correct them, but I do it as smooth as possible with a smile and a joke. Often I get good feedback when they see before and after... :-) Great video as always!

    I agree with not interrupting the flow for non critical things like posture. Its already a bit intimidating having multiple cameras and lights in their face so you being a snob and perfectionist will only cause them to clam up and be stiff. Leave the perfect posture and speech to the Hollywood Productions. Also @pdmokry what are you using to support your gimbal?

    I wouldn't interrupt if I do not know the subject well.
    If I'm doing something for someone I know I can interrupt and he/she can easily get back to the flow I would probably fix the framing (if I would spot the it :D).
    Sorry, but I'm laughing at last woody shot of the b-roll 😅😅😅 Looks like the talent got a bit to excited 😅😅

      So first off, thanks for supporting the channel!
      I get them from a site called blanktees.com
      This style is called a scallop cut. They run about $6 each. I buy them in bulk and have zero guilt when I trash them.
      They also help hide plumbers crack!

    I've done a few agency shoots like this before but they never paid that great. Normally one of those "agency" that is fully freelancers on the creative end. I've stopped working with most of them. Hopefully this agency is taking care of you!

  • @johnstewart3391
    @johnstewart3391 Před 2 měsíci

    Shots look great. For the end result of the video, I would let framing ride. I would rather have a good interview. If you stop them in mid flow you will loose that energy.
    When you begin asking them the next question, at that point you could have them to sit up straight.

    Thanks, Piotr. I guess the agency specifically requested Sony cameras fir this? (You mentioned shooting in S-Cinetone and not log).

  • @fd3871
    @fd3871 Před měsícem

    So even between questions you don't ask the interviewee to fix their posture? I'm usually not the interviewer, but in between questions I'll get them to adjust hair, body position, etc. if needed - I always do so in a nice way and have never had someone change their attitude after doing so. I will never interrupt during their response however, that would indeed be bad practice.

    to get bts videos like this, do you explicitly ask the client if they mind or is it a standard part of your contract or do you just record and see if they say anything? lol

    • @PDMokry
      @PDMokry  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I show up early and use my lunch break to get BTS.
      The other factors are budget and consistency. This is not big budget work. Do other shooters flag nationwide for this agency, they do not.
