- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wood dowels for the structure. Cars are 3D printed and the wheels are HO scale train trucks that are modified.
This model is Dedicated to my good friend, Scott Phares. This was his first upside down coaster, as we used to say back in the day. Today kids would call it a looping coaster or coaster with inversions.
The JetScream operated at Six Flags Over Mid-America (now Six Flags St. Louis) from 1981 - 1988. It was the parks first looping coaster and for many in the St. Louis area, it was their first upside down roller coaster. It had an simple airplane theme. This was one of 8 "Looping Star" models manufactured by Anton Schwarzkopf and designed by Werner Stengel. Most of these were designed as traveling (!) coasters that went from fairs and events in Europe and the United States. The "JetScream" and "Looping Star" were permanent versions of this model, designed to be attached to concrete footers instead of a portable metal frame. Only one Looping Star model still operates in the United States - The Silver Bullet at Frontier City, Oklahoma City, OK. The Silver Bullet, was actually the first Looping Star model produced in 1978.

So cool! This was my first "upside-down" rollercoaster as a kid. It's funny now to see it wasn't all that scary, but it was to me as a kid. It still surprises me that they only used a lap bar even though it went upside-down.
That ride was Moved to Six Flags AstroWorld in 1989..
Why does it move so fast? It looks unrealistic. The actual coaster and design is incredible, just not the speed...
Very cool. What a fast fun coaster it was.
Can you re-post the videos of how to make a coaster series?
where are the how to build a model rollercoaster videos i really want to know how you build these coasters
Sadly at the end of 2016 the looping star in the netherlands wil be demolished. :(
Can u make twisted collosus from six flags magic mountain when u get a chance?
Is this rollercoaster defunct?
AWESOME model!
Beautifully done.
Nice job! I love that you added a transfer track. I didn't get the chance to ride this when it was in Missouri but did ride it a few times after it moved to Texas. It was a fun ride but the addition of the tunnel made for a steamy first drop.
Amazing!
here is a challenge. try Olympia looping
Keep up the good work! I love your videos you inspire me to do so much
