Tyler Childers is a God sent to country music. The way he loves Appalachia culture and history is in every song, just as his desire to push forward in creating something new and original. Meeting Sturgill set a bomb off for this scene. Tyler and Sturgill really saved Country music. I couldn’t applaud and praise them more!

I'm from the Ozarks. When I heard Run These Roads it hit me smack in the heart nerve. I know tons of guys exactly like the song describes. These hills, and poverty, create certain circumstances for young men and it can be so heartbreakingly bleak. While at the same time, I recall most people like that with respect and fondness.
In general, it's refreshing to watch an artist grow and develop the way they want, instead of the way the studio directs. True art.

I grew up in small town, Ohio, and with that, a lot of old country. Growing up I really loved it, but as a kid in the 2000s I really hated contemporary country music. after my grandpa died, all of the grandchildren started listening to some old country again because it was nostalgic. But then I was introduced to Tyler Childers, and it really opened up a whole new perspective. I deeply appreciate Tyler‘s ability to celebrate the joys of growing up in the middle of nowhere, while also recognizing the deep pain and traumas of those areas that tie to society at large. I love worship music, especially for someone who is not religious. His music is a breath of fresh air for me

I just saw Tyler last night at Railbird in Lexington, Kentucky. It was incredible the audience he drew in. Everyone there played well, including performers like Zach Bryan, Marcus Mumford, Wheezer, and many more. Tyler's performance was completely different than the rest. Nobody even came close to drawing a crowd like him. The atmosphere awaiting him was just different. You could feel everyone's anticipation for him throughout your entire body. There had to have been 15,000 people standing shoulder to shoulder just eager to hear the lyrical masterpiece about to come out of his mouth. When I say he did not disappoint, I mean it. Started off with Whitehouse Road, and basically ended with Lady May. This was the first concert me and the girl I will likely end up marrying attended together, and only the second time away from home together. Holding her and singing Lady May along with thousands of other people was a feeling the both of us will never forget. Tyler's music is unique in the best possible ways. Very few artists can match the passion he emits every time he picks up that guitar. He deserves every ounce of success he has gotten, and more.

It probably saved my life, it unfortunately would be my last Prine show. And he was my go to every year and when I was struggling or lost I could always find a answer in one of John’s tunes. My ex girlfriend listened to Tyler Childers. I distinctly can remember one time she was playing his music while she was getting ready so we could go out, I was in the living room playing video games. I honestly never really paid too much attention to it.. for some reason it just never caught my attention. I knew she liked him very much so I eventually went on to make a playlist with all the songs I could remember her playing and singing whenever we were together. Feathered Indians, Lady May and Way of the Tribune God were some of the songs she would always play and sing along too. I will admit after the breakup I found myself listening to the those same songs. It brought me comfort and the ability to reflect on all the times I could remember her singing, dancing and playing these songs aloud. I regret the inability I had to appreciate greatness for his music like she did while we were together. I feel like we didn't have too many things we were both passionate about and thats okay, But looking back now I definitely wish I could of shared this with her. I am grateful to you Saige, without you I would have never gotten to experience the greatness of his music. And I love you.. always will

I found Tyler Childers music by accident, just a few short months ago, through listening to Colter Wall. Colter's song "Fraulein" with Tyler Childers made me look him up after hearing his voice. I listened to Feathered Indians and kind of knew it from the radio, and started listening to the rest. I found the song "Coal" and it almost instantly hooked me.
My family is from southern West Virginia, both of my grandfathers were career coalminers along with a lot of my family. I never got to live in Appalachia because my father joined the military to give his children a better life than he had, and I thank God for that every day. I do wish I got to experience living there full-time instead of just 1 or 2 weekends a month. The music he played sounded like the music I heard in the holler there and it really grabbed me. Music that reminds me so much of my childhood, my family history, and actually pays a little homage to the thankless career my family killed themselves doing to keep this country running? I was in. I dove in completely and listened to nothing BUT Tyler for about two months, specifically Purgatory, Live at Red Barn Radio, and Country Squire.
He was coming to play a concert in my town a few weeks ago, and I had no idea who he was in time to get tickets for it. Then he released the "In Your Love" music video that caused some backlash, and I was able to get two tickets for presale price about 3 weeks before the concert from some unfortunate people that didn't want to go anymore (SCORE.) In my concert prep I started listening to "Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven" in order to know some of the songs he was touring for. I haven't been to church in years, and I lost a lot of my religion through my line of work. I don't consider myself atheist, but I don't have much of a belief anymore. That concert grabbed me by the throat when he began singing "Angel Band." I had my hands in the air and felt the Lord like I hadn't in years. There is NOBODY that sings the way this man does, and can project the spirit the way he does. All of his music has been burning a hole in my radio still, even after the concert. I've never enjoyed an artist the same way I've enjoyed Tyler's music and I can't wait to see him again. Something about it just makes my mountain blood run warm, and makes me feel so good.
Thank you for the cool documentary, and sorry for my entire life story. Just wanted to share mine with how much his music has touched me.

I came across his music around 2014 and have listened to him ever since. He has amazing voice. When I'm listening to his music it puts me back in West Virginia from as a kid going with the neighbors after church on Sunday to someone's house with bluegrass players on the porch us kids running around and the women setting a huge table in the yard. To my teen years and addiction. Some good and bad memories. But they all got me to where I am now. One of my favorite songs is universal sound.

Presentation was amazing. Tyler's music was introduced to me after a co worker heard me singing for the first time. I was playing an original song. He asked if I'd be willing to watch Tylers video. I was blown away. Replayed that vinyl session recording and within an hour or two learn Whitehouse road. I went on researching everything I could find on him for at least a month.. follow you to Virgie is one of the song I want played at my funeral. I believed from the first song he'll be around for a very long time. Ain't got no right, but I'm proud as hell of that man. God Bless him and his!

Just to add to the discussion on Tyler’s expressed interest in Christianity, his music also demonstrates a curiosity across religious doctrines. Universal sound appears to make references to Buddhist beliefs and practices whilst his most recent album also features Hindu inspirations. Can I take my hounds to heaven (jubilee) seems to be a direct quote from Mahabharata. It would be interesting if one day someone could ask Tyler about all this

Was at Willie Nelson's 50th 4th of July celebration. Childers played before Willie. I had not heard of him, don't listen to country music much. But he and band were terrific! I enjoyed the range of talent. I especially enjoyed Tyler's gift for singing his heart out. I appreciate any musician, singer, songwriter for sharing their gift. Great music, good memories. I'll be listening to more Childers

I’d love to see Tyler’s lineage. I’m Irish decent, via both Barbados and Ellis Island quick migration towards Appalachian chain. They ‘met in the middle’. I hear so much Celtic influence as that base undercurrent that grabs my Irish ☘️ heart ♥️
