Beautiful build Chris! I think it's the best of the cars I've seen you do. Thanks to Ford and Revell for knocking it out of the park on this car!
Thanks Gene, loved this kit! Lots of detail but not so much that it got tedious.
Chris, that looks simply gorgeous! And you did it with paints you can buy at Menards and not have to fire up an airbrush or buy expensive paint. Those brake rotors looked awesome after you painted and same with the engine. Very nice job! Nice recovery on the NOO moment. You give average guys the confidence to build kits and your insight how to do it without spending a boatload of money or time. Thanks!!
Thanks Brian!
I always think it is such a shame that amazing work on the interior is covered up once the body shell goes on.
You are truly livin' the dream Chris!
Real nice job!
Thanks Topper!
Awesome build Chris. Looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Charles!
Stunning build Chris!!! As always your presentation is Excellent, your standards and passion for the hobby are much appreciated by builders like me. I sing the praises of your channel to all my friends!! Thanks for all you do for our hobby!!!
Thanks a lot Ron, much appreciated!
Another beautiful build. So many parts in this one. Turns out just terrific, and looks like it is ready for the race track.
Thanks Mary!
I can barely keep up with how many and how good these projects are. You do this well.
Thank you!
Nice detail Chris, Looks like an awesome kit thanks for the review and build buddy!! 👍👍
Thanks Whitey, it sure is a nice kit!

You sir did a great job on this. You are changing my mind about rattle cans.
Thanks! You can check out my video on painting with cheap spray cans. Just scroll down my videos, I did it this Summer since a lot of folks were asking.
Wow, what a beauty. Amazing as always, thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot Darth!
Watching this again 2 yrs later, saw the kit at Hobby Lobby yesterday for 40% off and couldn't resist.
I picked up a second one there to do s custom paint job some day.

Just finished watching, it’s a cool looking kit, and you did a great job building it!
Thanks a lot!
Such a purdy car Chris! I love it!! Very well done my friend...I pre-ordered a couple of these from Model Roundup a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to get them. Very cool...What a great color combo as well. Can't get any better than red, white and blue! Thanks for sharing...
Thanks a lot Mike! I was a bit intimidated by the paint job but it turned out way easier to do than I thought.
Looks great Chris, thanks for the build and review!....Bill
Thanks as always Bill!
hahahah loooved that little oops you had with the car body- the Schwarzeneggar slide says it all! :) Really great job on this kit- everything just popped!
Thanks!
A very good build and a helpful review. Lots of aftermarket detail and alternate decal sets are available for this kit- something for all skill levels!!
Thanks! Yup, all kinds of stuff. I hope this gets them to do more kits like this.
Beautiful kit... You really did it justice.. I loved the Tamiya kit, and this one looks like a winner too :)
Thanks Hisham!
You are a master with those rattle paints! That race is very impressive and looks like a die cast model. Kudos to you!!!
Thanks Mario!
How can you not love this ?!?!
Great job Chris! I really enjoyed the video you're a master with spray cans.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

You're a modeling genius my man. That is a trophy piece!
Thanks for coming along for the fun!
Thanks that was a great build. Cool body shape.
Thanks!
That's one sexy model. As always a great build, can't wait to see more race cars like this one.
It is, it screams speed. Thanks!
there are 2 versions of this kit, the one in the video is the us version , the German version of this kit is 07041-0379, has slightly different box art and has different decals, the german version has better decals and includes a larger decal sheet which includes seat belts and black trim for around the headlights and the decal sheet says printed in italy on it in the bottom corner, otherwise it is the exact same kit 88 pieces
Beautiful build Chris
Thanks a lot Chris!
thats excellent love the paint job & build the finished car looks awesome.
Glad you like it!
Always liked that car.You do a great job as usual
Thanks 👍
Just bought this at Hobby Lobby for $18.00. I can't wait to build it. Love your work.
Hope you enjoy it!
maan. that looks great. nice work!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks man!
Great job man!!!!!!
Great model, this is more my speed. A definitive buy!!! The reason carbon fiber looks awesome is because of the three dimensional look it creates, the bronze gives it a built in shadow. Beautiful. Following link when done. Great job on a showroom slick racer!!!!!
Thank you Stuart!
Beautiful brother keep up the awesome work
Thank you!
This one of best builds I've seen. Just so interesting I bought 2
Enjoy it!

Most Beautiful car ever built.

Thanks!
Working as intended. You just caused me to order one of these kits!
Ha! My intent is to make sure my fellow hobbyists have fun and enjoy the hobby. :)
I think you'll love the kit!
@@hpiguy I watch a lot of scale modeling videos, and I must admit, your's are as fun as it gets. Kudos.
You did a great job did building the Ford GT Lemans race car kit from revell. I have the revell of Germany Ford GT Lemans race car kit.
Thanks! Yes, they are the same kit, just different boxes.
Looks great!
Thanks Mark! I hope to see lots of cool modern racers like this from Revell.
Nice work, not the biggest fan of the newest GT but I'm looking forward to get this kit
I'm not a Ford fanatic but a cool kit is a cool kit and this thing looks fast sitting still.
Awesome job! Now I wanna get this kit. I’m an old school NASCAR guy, but that might have changed me.
It's an outstanding kit.
Hopefully Revell USA gets back to making top level modern kits like this again.
Sweet build
Thanks Doozer!
Okay... I admit when the body part fell during paint, I laughed. Why, because been there done that and it landing in sawdust below my workbench.
Super sexy car... love your build!
Thanks Sam!
☆☆☆☆☆ Great decal work.
Great build, nice to get some tips on the building of this model. I’m looking at doing this model but I’ll be going with the Wynn’s livery, Zero paints do the correct colour paint and I think Studio 27 do the decal sheet.
Have fun!
WoW! Very sweet!
Thanks!
"adventure" it happens.😎🍻
Well done and appreciated.
Thank you!
Wow these builds you do look really good.... I wish I was I was as good as you
Thanks man.
All it takes is building models, you'll get better as you go!
Wow another great vidio
Thanks Bob!
I run this car every Sunday night at 8pm est on iRacing, it is fun to drive!!!
another gem -
Thanks James!
You have videos showing how to add future to the models when done. When I try it I get streaks
Brush on one nice coat in one visit and walk away for at least three hours and let it harden. If you keep brushing it or messing with it, it will get strokes in it every time.
Can someone help me to try to fix a paint problem? I have the same model the same paint Brand rustoleum, but when I applied blue above the withe, the withe cracked and blue become loooks like "leather surface" and this is not only problem with revell models and this nightmare white, or cracked thing
Another great build, it came out fantastic. Now I have another kit on the wish list. BTW, how do you end up displaying all your kits? I'm running out of room for mine. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your next build.
Some get stored in boxes carefully. I have dozens on display in glass cabinets and try to rotate them.
Iv just ordered the carbon fibre transfer to make parts look real
Cool model and great reviews!!! I’m just starting modeling I ordered a b-29 1:72. Do you know how to keep the paint from going through the masking tape?
Light coats at first, then once those dry up in a few seconds go ahead and lay more down. Spray from behind the tape, not into the line or it will push under it.
Heavy coats will soak into the tape and bleed.
hpiguys Workshop Thank you for the response !!!
I cannot figure out how to apply the stickers
Super nice man 👍. Just saw you in my email from Jack @ model round up. Cool.
Thanks, and yes, how nice of them, just spoke with Jack today!
Very nice, Revell should supply yellow tinted headlight covers like shown on the box.
Thanks for watching!
Great ! Review
Thanks Charles!
Really neat kit. Love it. Gotta ask tho, where do you ge info ont which kit Revell will release/has released, as they don't update their site?
I get it from places like Modelroundup that have a 'coming soon' section as well as my contacts for review kits from Revell USA.
have to honestly say that while tamiya's car model holders are nice to have blutack/postertack and a thinner bottles(like mr color leveling thinner 400ml) might be my preferred way to paint shells.
Whatever method you like is the right one for you to use.
First I have to thank Amazon for turning me on to you. Nice build, I can attest to how hard it was to get the masking tape down in that inside red wing? Also I was able to get the rear of the model to snap down after watching the video. Thanks for the great tips.
Yes, I was told someone is using my videos without permission to promote their sales.
Thanks for watching here!
I have never heard anyone say a six cylinder engine is beautiful, until now
I've seen the Chip Ganassi-run Ford GT's race 10 times since their debut in 2016. The Ford "EcoBoost" V6 turbo engine sounds terrible compared to the Porsches, Corvettes, BMWs, and Ferraris. Looks sexy? Yep. Sound good? Not so much.
@@VMIFerrari it doesn't matter what it sounds like, just how fast it goes!!
@@AriesStyreneBistro All the cars in the GTLM / GTE-Pro classes are fast, but putting in a V6 turbo where a V8 belongs is sacrilege. Sports cars are meant to be a whole package: speed, beauty, and an awesome *_sound_* . That's where the Ford GT fails; it sounds like it's descended from yard tools. Just awful.
@@VMIFerrari pretty sure they said the same thing about when they put an 8 where a 12 was. In the end it is winning not sounding the part lol
@@AriesStyreneBistro V12's sound awesome and V8's sound awesome, but V6's just don't measure up.
Oh, and you might want to check the team & manufacturer championship standings since 2016 (when the Fords joined). The factory Fords have secured exactly *1* championship out of *10* that have been finalized (so far) across the IMSA & WEC series. Do the Fords win races? Yes, but it takes more than that. _Consistency_ is also key.
Wow that is more detailed than the tamiya kit!
I enjoyed it!
Love to watch your video’s I’m just starting out doing models can you help me with a list of paints and glues that you use.
I could not find a video of yours with a list of paints/glues that you use. - Thanks
Thanks!
The paints/brands used on each kit are listed in most videos during the painting section.
I prefer to use Plastruct Bondene for glue and super glue from the dollar store for small parts and final assemblies.
Great build. Where did you get the gator clamp stand that you used to spray the underbody?
Those are soldering helping hands, I get them at Harbor Freight. Thanks!
hpiguys Workshop
thank you
Delicious. Did you spray or brush the Future floor polish?
Brush, I always brush that on. It's just faster for me that way. I have airbrushed it but then I have to clean it so I went back to brushing it.
GREAT Model. What brands and color paints are you using,
Hi Rhonda, all paints/brands should be listed during the painting segment of the video.
What kind of masking tape do you use?? Great video by the way!!!:)👍
I like Washi tape, from any craft store. I think I listed it in this video, maybe not.
What kind of tape you use when painting ty
Washi tape
Thanks for the video. I just bought one to build. You skipped over the critical part of masking off the exterior. Wouldn't like to seen you do that instead of just laying down the paint. Looks good!
Thanks!
I've shown it in numerous other videos as time has gone on.
Please note, these are reviews, not model making classes. But I try to toss in tips and stuff as I go. I prefer my fellow model makers find their own way and enjoy their hobby instead of worrying about 'right' or 'wrong' ways to get the job done.
Thanks again!
Just askin does this car models require some glues?
Yes
What coulor rusuoleum primer did you use on the body of the car ? Many thanks Andy Iv got one will be building it sometime this year
Shown in the video my man. Enjoy!
@@hpiguy hi sorry to be a pain iv got most colours but I'm having trouble on what colour to spay with at part with each can please can you tell me so I can write down each part so I can get it right as I'm in lockdown im not doin much lol many thanks andy
Did you polish the paint/clear coat at all?
No, spray and pray. That's it.
Did your kit come with steel axls? Mine didn't have them in the box?
Yes it did.
You're absolutely correct sir!!! Sexy on the track!!! Revell nailed it and so did you. Beautiful model.. TCWAGS
Thanks for watching man!
I could watch your videos 24/7 ...hint hint ..lol
Thanks Jeff! Over 500 on the channel to keep you busy. Two full builds per week is a lot as is.
Yes sir I done watched all of them ...im just pickingabout you doing a 24/7show but I love to see your awesome builds maybe one day I may be able to do a sixteenth as good as u
Hello,
awesome build. I just bought the same kit and i was wondering, if i need those spraycans you used or is it enough, if i buy all of the colours? Im not really experienced yet
I can't quite understand what you're asking me.
You do need to buy paints to finish your model, what paints you use is up to you.
@@hpiguy Well you sprayed your car with some spraycans at the beginning and i wanted to know if thats necessarie or if i can paint the model just by brush
@@rearracing3072 You can brush paint it, but the results won't be as smooth and full coverage as spray cans or airbrush.
@@hpiguy Alright ty
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Well done! I better hook into mine
As always, thanks for watching and taking part in the channel!
I've seen the early Ford GTs, but I have yet see the new one. I'm curious as why Tamiya's Ford GT body is 4 or 5 different pieces and Revell's is only two.
No idea, don't own it, but I loved this racer from Revell!
Ma x ke non fate vedere come li colorate e assemblate ????
Io li ho sempre comprati e so come assemblarli ???
I literally show how it goes together and how it gets painted and masked. I'm not sure what you're upset about and asking why I don't show that.
Love the "NOOOOO!"
Hahaha, I didn't love it at the time!
How do you put on the decals?
They are waterslide, you soak the decal in water, then slide it off the paper and onto the model.
Chris, is that a lazy susan that your painting everything on? Glad I found this channel
I use cake stands and tamiya paint stands, yup.
Why rattle cans instead of airbrush?
I use both. We don't have to pick one or the other and stick with only that method forever. I also brush paint some kits too.
