These are great kits I just with they would give more detailed painting instructions for the parts.
Thank you for showing the kits🤙🏻
My favorite era for NASCAR. Beautiful buildup and as always thanks for the build tips and such!
Yep, this is the era of NASCAR that made the transition from a sport mainly for the Deep South to the entire country. The 1979 Daytona 500 was the first NASCAR race broadcast live nationwide and the fight at the end of it between Donny Allison and Cale Yarborough was what shot NASCAR up through the ratings.
Thanks Jim!
That odd line you refer to when masking is called the beltline dip. I couldn't understand how Salvano could make a business of this until I listened to you and watched the video. Very interesting business concept.
love these models... nice work
Love the build/review. Really nice kit! Those chrome number decals are really cool. Thanks for the review!
Thank you Clifton, I agree!

That is a FINE build on that car. Thanks for the review and pointers on building this magnificent kit, iif is a very nice
Kit. Nice to see your build on youtube.. great company at jrsalvino for making it, your pointers on using cheaper paints is nice too.
Thanks Brian!
Great looking kit!
Thank you!
Chris, you are so right..... the kit is very well designed. Yes they did a great job of listening and were quick to make the changes that were needed.
Thanks Jon!
Looks great
Nice kit.. and a very nice build job. What I usually do with something like masking the line of the two tone paint job is.. instead of cutting out the decal and risk ruining it.. I scan it and print it out on regular paper and then I can cut it out with the X-acto knife without handling the decal itself... Just a different idea :) Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for watching!
That’s a great idea
Real stock car really dig the chrome decals nice build as always
Thank you Ralph!
Very nice Chris looks great
Thank you as always Jeff!
After seeing the awesome quality of these kits I’m betting that you can pick up those decals with a magnet 🤪! And yeah i like their headers ! Looks great!
Awesome job
Thanks man!
Great job!
Thanks!
It looks awesome.
Thanks Mike!
Finally!!!! NHRA cars coming!!! I am a happy camper. Can't wait...Great video as usual Chris! Very well done! Love you videos and great place to buy them as well. Thanks for sharing and come on Salvinos...let's see some NHRA very soon...Thanks very much!
I saw they mentioned them on their FB, I'm sure they will get to them eventually. Lots of cool stuff coming.
I have the #28 Davey Allison car. Paint has faded from when i first got it. But, it's actually still holding together after all these years. Black& white / w gold numbers.
Great build
Thanks a lot Sam!
Those late Monte Carlos are cool cars and Bobby Allison's car color reminds me of North Carolina State Trooper cars.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome 👏
Thanks!
You are doing the Lord's work, Chris!
Thanks for watching!
Can't wait to build my Donnie Allison kit
Enjoy!
Beautiful modelo and I'm sure It Will né be a best seller. I'll pick some.
Thanks a lot Jefferson!
Hey Chris the world's only fully restored, and fully operational, Big Boy locomotive 4014,is getting ready for it's first excursion run;out to Cheyenne for Cheyenne Frontier Days next month. You should consider doing a full build review of Revell Germany's 1:87 Scale Big Boy Locomotive to commemorate the occasion. This is the first time the 4014 big boy locomotive has ever ran under it's own power; down the main lines,in over 60 years!.After Cheyenne Frontier Days, the people at the UP steam works;is going to begin restoration on another iconic piece of American history,UP engine number 3985.That project is expected to take 2 years to complete.
Love this car and build.im gonna try out that silver too i like it. One tip i might be able to giv ya....painting real cars for years myself....silver is always a lil fussy...with silver befor you shoot base go back and sand the primered body with very fine wet papers....no courser than 600... 800 or even 1000 is best.
I'm more of a spray and play guy but your tips are very welcome!
Great nascar build. The stock cars are fun to build, there’s kinda of a rhythm to the build. Would you consider doing a car that looked like it finished the 500 miles. Not a crash and burn more of a bump and grind. I’ve seen the decals for tire marks. A few little dents front / rear bumpers and maybe wall scraping. I’m curious how the underbody would look. Oil and grease , smoke stains? Looking forward to the NHRA builds. Thanks again.
Thanks!
Man ! I really like that black and silver paint ! I always loved the Monte Carlos from the late 70's. 1977 being my most favorite. I hope they will make a Lowrider version of this kit. That would be awesome ! Keep up the good work Chris ! Awesome ! Awesome Awesome build ! I love it !
haven't built a Nascar kit in long time but these kits do look well made, the 2 you have done look real good and nice to hear a company listens to feedback, that chrome look decal was real cool
Heck yes, thanks!
Another great build Chris! You mentioned Salvinos bought the molds from Revell/Monogram..... any word if they’re going to re-release Darrell Waltrip’s 1982 Mountain Dew Buick Regal? That was one of the first kits I built as a kid and I’d love to build it again with the much advanced skill and painting abilities I have now vs what I had at 7 years old!
No idea what's exactly in the pipe for those old kits aside from they bought the molds and showed some test shots of a Buick on their FB page.
Love your videos!!! Got one question if you don’t mind? How do you touch up your sprue painted parts after you cut them from the sprue??
Shoot a little of the paint into a cup and brush it on the spot.
hpiguys Workshop cool thanks for the tip
Awesome job man!! Looks rad. I'm going to be doing Petty's 84 Pontiac, is there a rattle can out there that's close to petty blue you know of?
I'm not sure but if I find something I'll let you know as I think there will be a Petty build in the future.
Thanks man, I'd much rather use a can than have to mix something up and use the old airbrush.
Loving your builds, how do you rate the Rustolium cans? Do you polish the bodies afterwards at all? Keep the videos coming 👊😎
They work fine and only cost $3.50 for a big can.
I do not polish, I'm a spray and play kind of modeler. Easy and fast.
Thanks for watching!
Très beau modèle super 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🆗
Thanks!
hi Chris great build love the decals and the two tone paint, is there anything you can't build?
Thanks Charles, I'm not sure but it's bound to happen some day!
I got Cale's 11, what are you guys doing for the two tone paint?
Usually the manual recommends the colors for you, same area where they show how the decals go.
I noticed that you use a lot of Rust-Oleum paints in your bills, I've never had good luck with it as it never seems to fully dry for me. Is there a certain kind a Rust-Oleum paint that I should look for? How long does it take to dry before you can handle it?
I use the 2X brand mainly. I can usually begin working on the painted parts within 6 hours. But I apply THIN coats, just enough to cover the primer. Thick coats would take days and days.
Hpiguys, what do you think of the Jr builder’s club? Seems like cool deal, just seeing what others think? Thank you for your time buddy
Looks a superb kit. On the video, the Titanium Silver looks way overscale. Hope it's better in real life.
Do you know where I can get a 1: 25 scale 1965 Chevy chevelle
You could photo copy the stripes onto a sheet of paper with masking tape on it to make you mask without a chance of ruining your decals.
Yes, if you have a photocopier handy. That would be the way I'd do it if I had one.
Does anyone make the black decals for this kit?
Cool build.
Why didn't you just photocopy the decals then transfer the shape of the line to masking tape then cut out to make an actual paint mask?
There are plenty of ways to get the job done, this was how I did it.
I don't own a photocopy machine. Have to make do with what we have at the time. Improvise and overcome.
Thats very true
I have to get this kit! Do you think you can convert it to a street kit? Great job as usual! Are you a imps member?
Since the interior and chassis is nothing like a real car, you'd have to use a different chassis and do a lot of customizing, new glass, shave off the window clips, etc. But anything can be done.
I joined IPMS for the magazine but that's it.
@@hpiguy I was thinking of kit bashing the revell snap and that kit to make one the interior on the revell kit is pretty good. Imps ruined me after I won a few contests. Now I can only build models that way. Keep up the great work, and thanks for the info!
Where did you get your paint stands? Thought you said Harbor Freight. Went to a couple of them and didn’t see any.
The metal clip stands are solder stations from harbor freight.
Ok. Was looking in the wrong place for them. I was looking in the paint section for them.
I love it!! But did anybody notice it has a Chrysler motor?
No. It's a sbc.
Hi Hpi. Is there anywhere to get the color callouts as there is none in the instructions. They give you only the body colors. I'm new to Nascar cars and don't have an idea about the interior or chassis colors. Thank you in advance for any tips.
Not that I know of, but the NASCAR experts and all their websites can tell you down to the paint code what was used.
@@hpiguy - Thank you. 👍
What would you use to strip the rustoleum 2x paint off a model without damaging the styrene?....This is a gteat build.
A 24 hour soak in Super Clean eats it right off.
Perfect...thank you
Could you find these at hobby shops?
If they order from Salvinos of course, and you can mail order right from Modelroundup.com and have them in a few days.
Do you ever use an airbrush? Or do you prefer to aerosol can?
I use them as needed for some work, but cans are quicker and easier for my building style.
About how many inches are you from your model kit when spraying.?
Hi there. Do the wheels turn on these kits?
The wheels are glued on.
That red car was spinnin at like 300rpm!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
@@hpiguy 😂
Can I drive it ???oh nevermind I thought it was real..killer job
Thanks Jeff!
Does any body have an extra instruction sheet for the money Carlo that they could send to me I'm doing a build off and I need the instruction sheet
Email Salvinos JR from their website, they may have a file to download.
Is there a Bobby Allison #12 Coca-Cola machine 1971 Monte Carlo?
Not from Salvinos, no.
Too modern for me, I'm old school NASCAR....bloody nice build nonetheless guv'nor! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻😎😍🍻
Thanks man!
This is better than watching porn videos.. Crazy how geting older is
Hahaha, and you don't have to change the channel when someone walks in!
Body separation is very difficult.
I demonstrate how easy it is to attach and remove the body in this video. LOL.
You go online and the rollcage is red or grey. The flash on this thing is horrible. There is no indication as to what the rollcage and frame should be painted. How did they miss that? This kit except for the body is not new and Salvinos will never get my business again. Amateurs.
