Can you do a video on the Uniden DFR1? It’s only $50 so I think it would be an interesting video comparing it to the conventional budget radar detectors that still cost multiple times more.

Is there any tutorial on the Uniden paired with Escort 2 on blend mount? I currently have my R8 hardwired. How would I go about or need in order to connect the 2 together with my current setup?
I know this unrelated but i just want to give a shout-out to Uniden for fixing my R7 in a timely and professional manner. My R7 stopped working, after 1.5 yrs in the brutal CA sun and i sent it for repair. I got it back looking like new, with same serial #. They even gave me a new case and mount. Not bad price either.
I ended up upgrading and got me an escort redline 360c right after I got the max360c mkii on the Amazon big deal days. I love the redline. I upgraded from my vantrue n4 to the n5 as well and got the hardwire kit also for it. Really clean setup

@@VortexRadar I drive a 2020 f150 super crew cab. I have the main to the right of the rearview mirror and about all the way up to the headliner. The front interior camera does a better job at covering more of the driver side than the 4 did. The back camera I have it almost in the middle of the back glass, but I have a sliding window so I can’t put it exactly in the middle. It does a great job of covering the interior from the back glass. I’ll send you some video and pictures on fb when I get a chance. My interior fuse box is at the floor on the passenger side, extremely easy to hardwire.
Regarding the main front camera, what are the main differences between the A119 Mini 2 and A229 plus? I know the A229 plus has the quad-GPS logger and updated UI but are there any other differences in performance/video quality?

I’ve got it installed in my car now, yeah. I like it for ride share drivers with the integrated interior cam and big LCD so passengers know they’re being recorded. For the cloud stuff, obviously Blackvue is gonna be the winner. On the whole I prefer the Viofos over the VanTrue though,

I emailed VanTrue to ask a technical question and never heard back, so I'm skeptical of their support or substance beyond their Amazon storefront. Im looking to buy a radar detector for the first time and I was debating between the uniden r4 and the radenso ds1. I have an 05 E55 and i was leaning towards the ds1 simply because i have a bluetooth adapter for music in the cigarette lighter and the ds1 can be connected to the car via usb port. Another option is to get a 2 12V adapter off of amazon so i could connect the r4 AND my bluetooth adapter. If someone with more radar experience could help me out i would greatly appreciate it!

Hey Vortex, love your videos! Have you tested the R7 International firmware v1.50 for RDD immunity? I know the creator touts it as such, but I find it hard to believe a firmware modification alone can make a detector invisible when it typically takes a combination of hardware and software engineering to do such. Please keep up the great work :-)

Considering the A139 Pro 2/3ch, I don't really need the screen, but is the upgraded rear cam worth dealing with the bugginess of the A229? I'm fine with having to update firmware, but replacing units for lens issues is not really acceptable imo and a huge pain.

Hey not sure if you have a video discussing this but is it better to have my r8 mounted to my windshield or higher up on my rear mirror with a blend mount?
Higher on your mirror would be better. It has a better chance of picking up laser, and gives you a better range for signals

R4 has been pinned at just below $300 for quite a while now, wonder if it will go any lower

@@eddiec2690 I got one when the price first dropped below $300. I don't regret it at all. Coming from the original redline and max 3 I love the range on the R4.
Quick question im confused.@ 5:39 also @ 6:49 you state you are running this in your car. Why run two cameras or did you make a mistake? Usualy if you study these cameras this closley, for me i would probably choose the one you run and roll the dice because i would think you are running the one you think is the best based of your research but when running 2 cameras at the same time i can not base a purchase off that any longer. Thanks in advance for your reply if you make one.
I run about 6 cams full time to cover different angles and as backups or for different reasons, plus extras for testing.

I’ve been sitting and waiting. The AI detector isn’t coming. It’s time for me to move on. What would be a relatively quiet and super reliable detector? I have an old 9500ix I got when it was first released and need an upgrade to something similar. I thought RedLine 360C, but think they will refresh it soon.
I'm in the same situation. Have a 9500ix and was also waiting on Theia. I am going to go with a Uniden R8. Waiting to see if the price drops any lower.

Doubtful, but you never know. Did see the R7 20% off on amazon in Oct for $400, but that was only for like 1 day if that.

What is the best cheapest radar detector I should get? I am thinking the R3... but not sure
R4 1:23 is the best of the best, even given its price point. R8 not needed and way too expensive.
The R3 and R4 are very close in price. The R3 came out in 2017 so its reaching the end of life as a model where as the R4 is new and has many added features so if you find them within $30-$40/of each other I would spend the extra on the R4. That said the R3 is still a solid detector it just won't be getting a lot of updates and its filtering isn't as good these days.
Just save a bit more and get the r4, it’s much better than the r3

Please help! I started watching Ariel's Vortex Radar dash cam videos last night (and all day today - Happy Thanksgiving!) after being involved in an accident in which the person at fault fled the scene. I gave the police a description of the vehicle and the first three letters of the license plate, but they haven't found the vehicle yet. I've been watching video after video of Ariel's reviews (Cansonic Z3+, Vantrue N4 Pro, Viofo A139 Pro, Nextbase 422GW, etc.) and I've been taking notes, but I'm so confused on which dash cam I should buy. I want one that will capture a license plate during the day, at night and if a car is in motion. Best recommendation?

I dont know but he said he was running this dash camera in his car on two of the cameras which i find interesting, what would be the pourpose of running two dash cameras in your car if you know which one is the best.

What is the best dash cam for a Jeep wrangler
This isn’t usually vehicle specific. My go to is the Viofo A229 Pro 2Ch. It’s expensive, but it works amazingly well.
Which ever one you want. Lol
Personally in my wrangler, I just use the older Viofo A119V3, but the new A119 Mini2 on sale would work good for a front only setup.
No Deals !!! R4 is 296 for over a month close to 2 , R8 is $640 for a long time also . Don;t be fooled by this Black Friday "Deals" and do your home research .....
Uniden doesn’t go Black Friday deals at all the way other companies do. Given their popularity people like to see the discounts nonetheless. Hopefully one day they do actual deals like other companies.
