Markiplier explained in a video on Anthony Padilla's Channel that the reason he was crying was because he got so big and famous that he couldn't connect to all the people that enjoyed his content anymore.
I feel like that was a massive mis interpretation I think what he really meant was that he is so big and famous now that there are way too many fans that he can't keep up to the point of desensitization towards moments like these anymore but he still cares

All three videos were mostly because his dad and the loss that he feels for his dad. The cheese was something he used to eat with him as a snack it was something he shared with his dad. That little stuff carries a lot of meaning once your parents pass away. My mom cried at a party a year ago because someone brought little kings beer and it was the only beer my grandma ever drank (very rarely)

The way he gets so torn up over not being able to emotionally connect with every individual viewer tells you everything you need to know about him.

That's also really one of the things that make him so unique among the others. You don't see other popular youtubers thinking that way. Most of them just have this "we are a family, we are one" view on their channel that looks good on surface, but is actually just an easy way to ignore/not think about the fact that that "family" has millions of individuals with years and years of life and stories behind them.
Mark knows that fact and is actually sad for the fact that theres that many people who love him and see him on a special level, yet he will never be able to do the same for them, will never be able to be there for every individual that needs him.
I wonder if he still strongly feels that way, or got desentisized enough (which is not anormal in any way, its just the way it probably is) that while he probably hasn't had a major change of view, he can't *feel* much about it.

After hearing Mark in that interview where he explains why he was crying and he says: "the reason it was so sad is I had the realization that I would never be able to have that personal connection I had in the beginning. That was devastating to me. I grew up as a human being along with all of them. Thats what people dont realize is how much something like that affected me". That hits so hard and shows just how much Mark is human like the rest of us and he has dedicated himself to making all of our lives brighter before hes gone and wants to make the best of it without having that connection. Mark you are a gem and have done more than you could ever know for so many people, myself included. Just know that we understand and appreciate everything you do and will do.

Mark is such a father figure to me with all his jokes, all his craziness and chaos. He's always been there when no one was and when i was struggling, i always remembered he will be there and it scares me that one day no one is going to remember who he is and how much he impacted us. Mark, Bob, Wade, and Sean have gave me so much hope in my life and make life meaningful. I don't know what I would do without them, I've never been able to go to any of his shows or even been able to see him in person due to personal issues and although he'll never see this. I just wish that he knows how much of an impact he made in our lives ❤️

Markiplier is one of idols, he has been through hell and back but we've been there for him for years, he is an inspiration, he is a childhood maker, he is a friend, he is someone to talk to, he is someone to entertain people, he is someone who prevents suicides, he is someone who keeps on smiling even when the times are dark, he shares his heart with us, he doesn't lie to us, he doesn't know how much we love him, he doesn't even know how much he's helped us, he's been a huge help for all the years he's been on this website, I can't imagine what was going through his head when watching this, I just know that he's happy, I'm happy, thank you Mark, thank you.

I love how no matter how hard it gets, he pushes through. He survived a tumor and an apendix about to burst. He survived the death of his father. He is a hero, saving people every day. He even continues to say inspirational things any time he can.
