    In this video, we install the Westcott Designs 3/1 collar kit onto my 2022 Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD Off-Road. This is a super good OEM plus kit to install on the new 3rd gen Tundra. I would highly recommend this kit if you are looking to clear 35" tires on your new Tundra without rubbing.

    The spacers on the struts / bump stops are a must. Those that are watching this in the future and installing, do not skip installing those! They will prevent the bottom of the shock body from snapping when compressed. Very nice touch by Westcott to include those.

  • @shitloveaduck
    @shitloveaduck Před 2 lety +5

    That looks really great!! Pretty amazing what an alignment can do!! I was impressed with how much you learned almost instantly!!
    That kit shouldn’t affect ride too much. The offset of the wheels may be a bit too much so the next guy may want a little less aggressive offset, assuming there’s room on the inside between the tires and frame/undercarriage. Like I said the truck really looks great with the lift,,,, it looked like the frame collapsed with the 35s and stock ride height😂😂.
    “Caught a little air on that last whoop,,,,,,,,,!! Ohhh sh*t!!!” 😂😂😂 (sorry, bad joke,,,,,)
    I have different tastes, respectfully and would put 34s in there with some P-metric sizing, just to get a more balanced (my tastes, I understand) look. To each their own and I can’t fault what you have going on there!!
    Thanks for sharing the install etc. it’s not a challenging job at all, assuming yo have a strut compressor. They aren’t too expensive and if you are likely to do more than one lift/lower in your life, they pay for themselves big time!! I bought mine a few years ago,,, 12 ish,,, and have done a couple of dozen if not 3 dozen jobs with strut work needed. (friends borrow these once they know you have one,,,,,, cheap buggers! 😂). The unit is still working fine as new. I keep unbolting it from the wall as I have moved over the years and re-installing it in my new shop each time!! If you are mechanically inclined,,,,, this has saved tens of thousands of dollars for about $800 invested 12 years ago. It actually paid for itself on the first install I used it for.
    Again,,,, many people are terrified of the strut assemblies and taking them apart (they should be!!) and would leave that to the experts. To each their own!!!
    Later, Eh!

    I was at the Toyota dealership ordering my truck……I brought putting 37s on it…….Berge Toyota here in Mesa, AZ stated they used their $3k lift kit n couldn’t prevent the 35s & 37s rubbed against control arm. Did you have this issue? Or is it safe to say those folks at Toyota were being haters of this kit?

      They don’t know proper wheel offset. Go to westcott designs in PHX. They know what they are doing. Don’t have that dealer do anything

    Looks killer but with it dead level almost looks like anything in the bed will make it squat. I have 3/2 Readylift on my 19 so it maintains 1” of forward rake. Do you know if Wescott is working on such a set up? Thanks!

      Not sure if they are honestly. But a better spring in the rear may help with that or if WD does one with a larger spacer for the rear, that would be ideal.

    I have this exact same setup on my 24’ limited. Running KMC 17” wheels with 37x12.5 nitto trail graps and I rub a tad on full lock forward and reverse. Any suggestions on what I could do to to fix that without trimming or going to a taller lift kit? I was thinking maybe fox adjustable coilovers? Thanks in advance!

      I traded my 2020 4Runner pro Army green for the 2023 hybrid pro solar octane and I’m very happy. It was a tough decision but the ride is night and day difference. For me it came down to a question of will I change out the stock 4runner suspension and will I actually take it offroad? I hadn’t done much off-roading except for some trails in Colorado once a year.
      The tundra is a better fit for me. My husband has a fully built out Tacoma that we take offroad. So I would say weigh it out and choose carefully. The Tundra can be very capable offroad as well.
