I did mine about a month ago, looks good with Red shackles! It didn't bolt right up, I had to use a hydraulic jack to spread the outer bumper bracket about 3/8" was a PIA but at the end it came out very nice, nobody noticed I changed it LOl!
Aside from it fitting great and everything am I the only one who thinks it’s just a slight bit dangerous give that you removed the crash bar and the replacement bumper doesn’t offer as much surface area to absorb the impact Incase of an accident
Nah wouldn’t bother me. I’d rather crash in this truck with the crash bar removed with the replacement bumper than to crash in a small vehicle like a sedan. Overall it may be more dangerous but it would totally be much safer than crashing in a sedan or coupe.
@@toeknee4B11T very true can’t argue with that but I’m wondering if there’s a way to make it beefy and just take a weight penalty. Thing will be like a tank
Since trucks are becoming increasingly prevalent, Toyota, along with many others are trying to cater to the NHTSA ratings to improve their positioning in the market. Adding a bumper that allows for a winch and hard recovery points while maintaining complete functionality of airbags and crumple zones is a very difficult thing to achieve. Since 99% of the driving - even for off-road vehicles - is on the road, it stands to reason they would opt for allowing you to put those those accessories on yourself, rather than expose themselves to lawsuits and non-compliance. So I believe it’s intentional, not an oversight.
Toyota should partner with CBI and offer this as a option. I'm probably the only one or one of the few that thinks this should be the 4th gen due to the 07-21 not all being designed the same.
Awesome, I will still wait a 24 to 36 months before even consider buying, by then toyota would have made many refreshes due to ongoing customer complaints
Holy sweet jesus. Where can I buy this part? My niece got her first license 2 months ago when it was super icy and snowy…she didn’t look at rear mirrors and messed up my whole lower bumper including sensors.
I put one of these on my 2024 Tundra Limited. I had to remove the air dam which threw a code that cleared on its own. But a second code failure associated with the parking assist clearance sensors did not. It looks like I will have to pay a Toyota dealership around $400 to recalibrate the sensors and clear the Parking Assist Malfunction warning. The parking assist does not and will not work until I have this done.
Looks great, we'll engineered as well I'm sure. The big question I have, how does this new bumper affect Toyota engineered crash/crumple zones and of course airbag deployment to keep family members safe?
Hello Bill, This bumper is just a direct replacement of the OEM Valance. No Frames or brackets were replaced or modified. As a matter of fact, It only made the front end stronger by replacing plastic with steel.
@@Runnin4Tacos One thing I didn’t see in the video was if the factory crash bar got re-installed. Would that not affect the crash safety aspects of toyota’s design?
Looking Clean. Quick question what's the installation time for the Covert Bumper also do you do Prinsu Roof Rack Installation for Tundra 2022? Thank you.
Why doesn’t anyone do these on the trucks with the automatic “spoiler” air dam so that we will know how to deal with removing it without throwing a code?
FYI...There are no tow hooks on the '23 model...just received mine. Also, not that it matters, since it's off-road, there is no air dam when off-road package. What did you do with your front license? Required in Colorado?
I have been calling you guys for over months now and get no answer on the phone. So I emailed a few times about getting my Tacoma built out. No reply. Is there anyone I can actually talk to?
I am looking for a full bumper with grill guard for my 2022 Tundra. Deer are constantly getting hit here and they tear up your truck. Anyone know where I can find one? I thought ARB would have one, but they do not.
I've seen them on CBI's website. Look up 2022 Tundra CBI bumper. No lead time available yet, just says they're all pre-orders. I want to order this, because it looks the cleanest from what I've seen. But haven't yet, due to the pre order.
I would guess not because it only expands a portion of the front end. As compared to the full front end of the car. Tons of accidents are corner to corner. If you were to do that i would just get a full steel bumper
No, But CBI does make a Sequoia covert. It is actually the one on our Sequoia. Here is the link! runnin4tacos.com/products/cbi-covert-bumper-toyota-sequoia-2023?_pos=1&_psq=covert+seq&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Wow. Imagine a new 4wd with no tow hooks , I guess that means you aint gettin stuck and no one else is worth pulling out .Maybe there is a reason it don't have them. Like a lighter rear axle and no trans cooler. Maybe just get some stickers that look like tow hooks. lol. Toyota TRD, the only thing missing is U.
Of the three or four bumper options I’ve seen so far, this one looks the best.
Wow!. These bumper upgrade looks heavy duty and aesthetically sound!. Bet they be flying off the shelves soon!.

Very nice, so when it's time to put a winch, do you have to take the whole night bumper again?
Looks great! What are you doing for the front license plate?
I just reserved a 22 Tundra SR5 Army Green! It will be coming with 35s, method wheels, and a lift kit! I will definitely be getting this bumper :)

So far best finish bumper, nice!

Your work is amazing! I would love to find someone to do some work like that in TX.
That's pretty slick looking brother!!
One the nicest updated bumper upgrades. Toyota should just include this as and option
Personally I want to see it in action. Can it physically pull or will it bust pulling
YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome, I will still wait a 24 to 36 months before even consider buying, by then toyota would have made many refreshes due to ongoing customer complaints
Fantastic job, love the changes you've made to your Tundra!! Ugliest truck made today is looking sweet thanks to a few small changes, cheers!
Crazy how people either say "ugliest" or best, no in between. I personally love the front end.

Here I am in 24 with a 24 TRD Pro.... they in fact did not add front recovery
Tow hooks. Amazing.
Gotta get it when I get my truck
Do you have an active spoiler on this? How did you navigate the warnings?

Great , we need to make mods for this truck to look good? Is it worth it really? Toyota listen and get back on the drawing board.
Can it be installed if the truck is equipped with a front spoiler?
Yes!
Looking Clean. Quick question what's the installation time for the Covert Bumper also do you do Prinsu Roof Rack Installation for Tundra 2022? Thank you.
The bumper takes about 3 hours to do. Not including accessories like winch and lights. And YES! we do install prinsu racks as well.

Does this CBI bumper fit the 2022 Tundra TRD PRO models?
I like that looks good
great product
Remouving the factory aluminum crash bumper and replacing it with vertical steel plate.
How is still affecting in case of a crash?
Cool thanks
good idea

Required? "Yes". But our entire fleet has gone without the front plate for over a decade.
@@Runnin4Tacos Roger, that!
How much cost 💲 for this i try to put the different style but this is look like the original
I'd be interested in a full metal bumper which would include the corners
That is what this Tundra has now. Full-plated bumper.
I have been calling you guys for over months now and get no answer on the phone. So I emailed a few times about getting my Tacoma built out. No reply. Is there anyone I can actually talk to?

Can I remove the active air dam and make the bumper work?
How does your sr5 not have air dam? Mine does. Strange
This is great 👍. But Toyota should have done this from the factory.

What tires you have on the truck they look cool
TOYO RT's
Is there a way to clip the harness in Thats recommend by CBI?
No towe hooks for the 2023 model year either
Do you HAVE TO lose your skid plate?
You can still use a skid

Have u mounted a winch yet and if so how did u do it?
